SWF file plays fine locally, but not online

Hello the Flash community,

First of all, thanks in advance for any idea or support, you are able to provide.

Here's my problem...

I have a very basic Flash animation I created. Here a link to a copy of the SWF file on my website: http://www.comrent.net/flash-2-0

The film seems to work fine in Internet Explorer, but not in Firefox or Google Chrome.

Here are the details:

This is an announcement of ranking, and like I said, it's pretty basic. I have a simple motion tween and then a series incredibly looooooong nested clips that create the effect of a meter (like a mounted fast jackpot).

I'm not really connected with the intricacies of ActionScript, so I could not encode something more elegant. The 'meter' is supposed to represent an increasing amount of money that do not use our services could cost a company.

Those dozens, hundreds, thousands and tens of thousands use a simple extensible clip. hundreds of thousands use one that is 10 x more for a long time, and so on. I had to stop at 1 million, the number of frames between numbers being excessively long.

that is, there are 10 images between the numbers for the place of hundreds of thousands in the film, 100 images for millions and 1,000 images for millions.

It's probably a TERRIBLE way to achieve this effect, but, as I said, I'm a newbie to ActionScript...

Think the problem could be due to the incredibly long movie clips, I removed the animations from some of the highest numbers of my film and it doesn't seem to affect if he plays in Firefox or Chrome.

If you have CS4, it should generate disguising code, so when you publish the swf file, also have publish a html file and use (copy / paste) the code it creates in plkace of what you have now.  There is a chance that it will be a file external javascript to be included in the files that you download or create the head section of the html Flash file will be loaded with the js code you will need to also copy on your page.

  • Published F4v video and html plays locally, but not online...

I am running Windows 7/64 and Master Collection. I created a clip of the DV NTSC sequences to test F4V publication. Fact many times with CS3 and flv files, but it left me speechless. I can properly see the video and the web page locally in IE and Netscape but upload to my server I have the menu and the right implementation, but no video appears. I created the clip in first Pro CS5 and exported to the best quality F4V/FLV. Open a model Media DV NTSC in Flash Pro CS5 Actionscript and import the video that I had previously placed in my web folder root locally. Then I exported the swf file and saved the fla. All the files were then in my root folder and the scrpts in the scripts folder. In Live view in Dreamweaver CS5, everything was going well. In each browser locally the video read as expected. Once all the files have been downloaded video wasn't visible.

    The file is located here...

    http://www.goodmangraphic.com/2010vid.htm

at the root of the directory are... Sequence of 01_1.f4v, minimaflatcustomcolorall.swf, 2010movie.swf, 2010movie.fla and in the scripts folder, expressinstall.swf and swfobject_modified.js.

Thanks in advance for the advice on what I can do wrong.

    John

It seems that the server is not configured to serve F4V files.  Make sure that the MIME TYPE is there (or ask your server administrator to do).

  • Shared Object working locally, but not online

My game saves your high score using the sharedobject object and the test it locally it works fine, but when the swf file is published and played online, it does not record the score of salvation. Is there some kind of new security problem with the registration of shared objects on the hard drives of the people now?

you only need a sharedobject, but it will not cause a failure to use two.

However, your 3rd line of code is problematic and should cause an error when you download (and it is no longer a sharedobject that hiscore associated with this server).

    You must use:

    {if (OwlHiScore.Data.HiScore)}

    hisc.mainScore.text = (OwlHiScore.data.HiScore) m:System.NET.SocketAddress.ToString ();

    }

  • My files play in Dreamweaver, but not in Firefox

Hello, all. I tried to update my site and have struggled.

I designed my site in flash and put the file in dreamweaver. My file .swf cheek in Dreamweaver, and also when I select "Preview in browser" using Firefox, but when I upload the index.htm file in my directory and go on my site directly, play animations, but not my flash animations (which are f4v files). The links work. This isn't the problem. .F4v files will not play (all products are CS5).

When I click the link, I see "waiting on the site" below. Which hangs my movie files? My site is wilson - Graphics.com.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks for the help in advance.

It looks like that your last post is not upward in the Forum so much to answer:

No, do not re - encode, no. your file names are not too long.

For me it looks like you have a path problem.

"I have a big file named"New site"and in this folder is a folder called"WithWatermark", where all of my final .f4v files are kept. The real "WithWatermark" file is not transferred, but everything in this folder is. Who should not be the problem though, huh? "I've always done this way and that the flash file knows where all the files are located.

Unless the folder structure is EXACTLY the same on your server, either on your local computer, the .swf will have trouble finding .f4v files. On your machine, you say that they are in the subfolder "WithWatermark", but you do not use this same folder on the server, .f4v files are in your root folder.

If you have created the .swf video player using a subfolder in the path to the video files, but you do not use the same path on the server, the path is broken.

Create a "WithWatermark" folder on your server and move all f4v inside files which, just like on your local computer.

    Just give a try.

    Best wishes

  • Function to search for xml works locally but not online

    Hello

I have a function that is triggered by a click of a button which runs through an XML file to an e-mail (entered in a text field) address and returns a match or no match.  When I run the swf file locally it works fine, but once the site is validated it no longer works.  Locally, it connects to the same xml files & php he uses online.

    I would appreciate ideas.

    Thank you

    Chris

Looks like your XML file is cached. You must either add a random variable to xml request or write no.-cahe headers in PHP.

  • loadMovie works locally, but not online...

I have the following command on a frame:

    holder_mc.loadMovie("/NF/Mp3Player.swf");

At the launch of independent la. SWF, or when you test the movie in Flash, the "holder_mc" charge "mp3player.swf' very well. But when put online (or even test locally in a browser), it won't load at all. I copied the structures of directories from my hard drive on my online server EXACTLY...

    Any ideas? ...

Exactly what I tell you everything. DO NOT USE PATHS from the perspective
file flash but the html file where the flash is. FLASH is not relevant
Here it doesn't mean anything. IF the HTML code is at the root of the server, the FLASH file
It's at the root of the server too so it will seek this place files
    not its original location.
You need to load your file using:
    audio/WT/mp3player.swf

    not

  • Flash site works locally but not online (uploaded)

We bought a portfolio flash template and have customized with our images, videos, etc..

When test us locally on our computer (using different browsers) everything works perfectly. We downloaded the site over to our server and when you go to the address online, it does not (shows a progression of charger, but it stops and nothing happens).

However, we have transferred the original model we bought and it works perfectly in line.

The model is made up of and index.html, various .swfand various .xml we changed according to the instructions of the model (it also contains a java scripts folder, we have not touched).

What is wrong with our modified model - it works locally without problem...!

    Thanks for your help

Thanks Ned and adninjastrator for your help.

    @ adninjastrator: I'm testing site:

-first of all, simply by clicking on the index.html file that opens a web browser (I use different to see if it works in all of them)-> this way everything works fine.

-J' downloaded "Flash Player Debugger" (debugger contained Macintosh Flash Player 11.2 projector) - and opened the main.swf (which opens the main Web site - since the other .swf open what seems only areas of the site in single colours but no content) - I don't want to download the 10.3 version because you tell me and uninstall the newest one for this one. When I opened the site in this way all works fine but the ActionScript error message I posted above appears when I browse the site.

I will read all of the messages that you sent me and specially the last one and will make account back after trying the various options.

@ Ned: Ok I'll go through the debug version of the browser to see how it goes - I guess that this will be the rub pointing...

We bring you back I have try all this stuff - CHEERS!

  • Flash works locally, but not online!...

I put a. SWF in a blank web page. It starts and plays very well locally if I run the page from my hard drive, but online I just get a blank white page. Here is the link:

    http://Al-i.Anixter.com/temp/flashTemplate/index.html

    Any ideas? Thank you!...

Just realize if you right-click on the page and click on 'transfer', he argues, and works. I think it was something in the preloader code, but maybe not, because if the preloader was messed up, so I think that wouldn't work locally, right?...

    UPDATE:
Nevermind - figured it out! Stupid error in the preloader of coding!

  • SWF works locally but not on server

I have a problem with a SWF, xml-powered. It plays very well when I test the site locally, but not when it is uploaded to a server. Here is a link to the page. There are a lot of posts on other forums describing the same problem and this, although I can't find the right solution. The only thing that he convinced me, is that it is probably a path problem. I bought online and instead of a swf file and an xml there is a dozen of each to make it work. In addition, there are about 40 .as files. (customize it to make it "easier").  I intend to use this headdress of banner on several pages, it will be very solutions download all these files for each page I do. I checked with the support for this product and I was told I could make a directory of flash, only the xml for each new page of duplication files and linking the XML to swf files. Otherwise, the support response was very short and useless. I renamed each path in the xmls so it should be good. As I said, the file works locally, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I posted in the forums before adobe, and I alwas found answers helpful and kind.

  • SWF file contains Ref. local dir structure

    Newbie here; I'm sorry.

    Flash CS4 Professional, version 10

Creates a simple video flash to get wet feet. In the process, I'm drowned.

I created the video with Flash (ActionScript 3.0) by inserting a player object and specifying an f4v source that I created using the Media Encoder CS4 to convert a wmv file. nothing to it.

Publish an extract worked fine. Publication/Publication settings created the necessary files, as described in tutorial Flash 411:
    http://TV.Adobe.com/?TrackingID=EBYHH & SSP = fl_10.0.0_win_en_full__PF_20040226 #VI + f1527v1000.

Video works fine on my local PC (XP, SP2). But when I load it on my server, it does not work. In IE 7, loading the page. the source code is there, but the window is empty: http://www.bbhq.us/pva1.html

Adding to the .htaccess file mime type does not solve the problem. Change the permissions for the files was not, either.

It is apparently not a server problem. A simple swf file created by Mr. Gates and HTM simple coding works: http://www.bbhq.us/flash3.htm

Mr. Gates, that knows that I don't have?

    Well, where to start?

However, when I loaded my file- http://www.bbhq.us/pva1.html - in FireFox 2.0, I got a blank window, but also the revealing error message:

SecurityError: Error #2148: SWF file http://www.bbhq.us/pva1.swf cannot access
local resource F:\pva1\pva0117a.f4v. Only local - with file system and

Which tells me that the swf file has my original directory location and name (s)--f:\pva1\...--incorpore in there. No wonder!

However, I don't see where in Flash I Specifies a directory structure for my video, other than, of course, when I specified the original video to add to the Player component. But somehow, the swf file again the structure of directory under the file names. This boat is not floating.

Help Adobe don't throw me a life jacket; He threw me a lead weight, instead.

Must be parameters to publish somewhere, or miss me something obvious that I can't see.

Goin ' down here for the 3d time. A little help here, please.

    Thank you.

Thanks for your quick response. But he left me still treading water.

Yes; got to the Inspector of content; The settings that I see are:

    skinBackgroundAlpha

    There is no property/setting contentpath.

This is help page refers the contentpath that you referenced:

    http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/Flash/10.0_UsingFlash/WS0ED77F00-2006-49aa-8399-92B6D5D8CE00.h tml #WS9A834D6F-8206-4e07-B840-456EF90C03CB

He described the contentpath as you suggested:

"contentPath (AS2 files) string that specifies the URL of a FLV.

The reference to AS2 in parens jurisdiction suggests that this setting applies only to the AS2 files. Or, perhaps, this setting is not applicable in CS4, version 10. I donno, but I of course do not see it in my version of Flash.

However, you and the help page throw me a lifeline. The f4v file already loaded on my server, I changed my project, specifying, as the source parameter, the name of my file fv4 when it is loaded on the server - http:www.myserver...fv4--pas file on my local PC. When published Flash project, he uses the name, without reference to my local directory...

Of course, the f4v file must exist on the server for him to publish correctly.

    Who did.

It makes sense, but it is certainly not obvious and it is not explained in any documentation I found.

Am I the only one to whom it was not obvious?

Thank you; you led me to a solution.

If it works in Firefox Safe mode and then disable all extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) and then try to find out who is causing by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')

Alternatively, you can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
