    No, it will not work.

Windows 7 anytime upgrade: you have Vista or XP currently installed?

If the product you have Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' does not allow to move from XP/Vista to Windows 7. You can buy the product at retail of Windows 7 Upgrade not the ' Anytime Upgrade '.

Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' is for moving from one version of Windows 7 to a higher version, such as Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional.

  • I have a laptop Lenovo bought in the spring of 2008 running on Vista Home Premium. After years of basically no problem, I got warnings my memory was almost full.

I have a laptop Lenovo bought in the spring of 2008 running on Vista Home Premium.  After years of basically no problem, I got warnings my memory was almost full.  I'm no computer guy, I'm a retired OTR trucker who now lives for people with disabilities.  I checked my system and found Lenovo had two partitions on the hard drive.  The main logic were my programs were only 30gig on a disk hard 150 gigabytes.

After talking to some friends who know more then me and research, I copied all my personal files on a stick to 4gig and erased the hard drive.  Spent New Years day adaptation of files, wipe the HD, install Vista again and then 6 and hours of updates.

Monday, I installed my old files, installed new software and reinstall some of my previous, as well as several updates of Windows.

Tuesday a finer adjustment and more windows updates.

Today, Wednesday, right off the bat I installed another Windows update.  Update has been installed, computer shut down, restarted, then the computer stopped at step 1 of 3 @ 97%.  I went for half an hour to come back to an error screen telling me I had a corrupted file and to reinstall Vista and using my factor disc repair system.  I wasn't allowed this option.

I subsequently through trying different restarts that File:\Windows\system32\winload.exe has been corrupted or damaged or missing Windows update attempt.  Given that I had my Windows disk that I was never worried before making a boot disk.  I/we (family of 6) do not have the financial means to purchase recovery discs, go to a tech help.  We are ourselves.  Can someone help me out here?  Are all my personal details on my laptop, a lot of money and time tied up in programs, I can't access.

I don't know how this forum works.  My email is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

    P. S.

With all this, if I have to reinstall windows I better upgrade to a 32-bit on a 64-bit?  This will cause problems with existing programs? I see a noticeable improvement in speed?  I checked and I can't change to 64-bit.

    Hello

Since you have a Lenovo, you can try to get to WinRE among advanced startup options (f8) and performa than a system restore or if you must organize a drive to install Windows Vista full version and try to perform a system restore in Windows recovery environment and check if that helps.
For more information, you can consult the following articles:

  • Windows Mail Server errors 0x800ccc67, 0x800ccc90 & 0x800ccc19 running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, Windows Mail v.6.0.6000.16386 and Avast v 7.0.1466 the two sending & receiving

Hello and thank you for taking the time to review my problems and for any help you can offer.

I am running Vista Home Premium, Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386 and free AVAST version 7.0.1466 program v.  When searching for error codes that I receive, I can see this is perhaps a problem with the anti-virus software, but no one says how to solve problems.

First error: your (or SMTP/POP3) server has not responded in 90 seconds.  You want to wait 90 seconds for the server to respond?   It doesn't matter if I have a bit of waiting time or even increase the time-out threshold.

    Error number: 0x800ccc19, 0x800ccc67 & 0x800ccc90

Limit of simultaneous connections in outdated Avast.  (Col: 0, process;) WinMail.exe [50]); port 25, Server (SSL): no, Server error 421

I posted this same message on the Forums of Avast at: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=104561.0, but have not received the answers.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.  Thank you in advance for any help that you may be able to provide.

    Thank you
    M8TriX

Glad to hear it's fixed. This is probably the feature analysis of Avast and most of the other AV e-mail programs. Keep the following in mind that if this happens again.

It is safe to turn off the analysis of e-mail messages. See:

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email:
    http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Disable the email option in your antivirus scanning software:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

And it is from Symantec, but applies to all anti-virus programs.

    From:
    http://snipurl.com/bmf6

My computer is always protected against viruses if I disable e-mail analysis?

Disable e-mail analysis won't let you without protection against viruses that are distributed as attachments to email. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans incoming files as they are saved on your hard drive, email and attachments to emails. Scan to email is just another layer on top of that. To make sure that Auto-Protect provides maximum protection, keep active Auto-Protect and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have the most recent virus definitions.

  • Hi guys my laptop runs on vista home premium... Can I install windows7 inside? Thank you

my computer laptop sistem is the processor intel core duo 2 GHz

If she has a Core 2 Duo processor, it can probably run Windows 7.

    System requirements:

    * 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x 86) or 64-bit (x 64) processor

    * 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

    * 16 GB of disk space available (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

    * Peripheral figure DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

    ---------------------------

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise

Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

  • How can I get rid of Astromenda.in Firefox run in Vista Home Premium

I received a message that I thought was since Mozilla Firefox saying I need to update Adobe Flash Player. I did and ended up with Astromenda.

I went to control panel configuration/programs and features, Astromenda and uninstalled. Then I adjusted my options for my Firefox home page and got rid of Astromenda on the opening of Firefox. However, if I hit the '+' tab for a new tab, I get a 'search' Astromenda tab. I went to 'searchplugins' in Firefox profile and found Astromenda.xml and replaced by safesearch.xml. Did not help, Astromenda is still there when I add a new tab.

I'm going on the web and found Web sites on how to get rid of the Astromenda but they want to download me various adware cleaning tools, but I am reluctant to download anything at this point unless it is sanctioned by Mozilla Firefox.

    Thank you

  • Im running Windows Vista Home premium OS. After you install Itunes, my computer no longer recognizes cd/dvd players.

How to make the computer recognize cd/dvd players, while itunes is installed

    Hello

Too many competing products can stretch resources and cause problems. The power below
be able to get your rear disc with installs it you have in place.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Hope these helps.
