Question about Windows 7 Microsoft Paint

Previously in paint, I was able to get rid of the background with a tool called 'magic wand '.  Where is he?  I can't find in this new version.

Magic wand does not exist in Microsoft Paint application more.

If you are looking for a magic wand tool, or tools more, I'd recommend checking on Paint.NET - http://www.getpaint.net/index.html

    RAM: 4 GB

Under the product description, it was stated "Windows 8.1 DG Windows 7 Pro 64." My understnading, the ThiknPad has been installed with Windows 8.1, but downgraded to Windows 7. There is also a Windows 8 Pro badge sticker at the bottom of the matchine.

Is it possible, at the end of the user/consumer, to alter the functioning ti repressive back Windows 8.1?

Can I create a recovery with Windows 8.1 disk?

A separate but related matter relates to the Windows product key.

I noticed the Ultrabook do not come with a sticker / label with the Windows product key (i.e. COST). Some quick research indicated that the Windows key is programmed into the BIOS.

This indeed true (I wish an audit)?

The key is visible in some way (for when you need to reinstall the operating system. I have not tried to enter the BIOS at the moment)?

Thank you for taking the time to consider my question.

    Kind regards

    Victor L.

    Hi Victor,

I'm in the same boat as you type, but want to keep the facilities of Windows 7 rather than pass them to 8. Just like you, I buy our Lenovo from different retailers and they come with windows 7 installed through the Windows 8 lower upgrade program.

We had one or two laptops come with a recovery media (for windows 8/8.1 only) but have noticed that all laptops now come with no physical media or codes for the recovery. WIN8 stickers, you described is more came with the license key on the sticker (it comes to stop you using the same license again and again, microsoft will get more money if you buy another license etc.). I also saw that the key is essentially located in the BIOS but were not able to test what we use any of windows 8. I use it even at home!

To answer your question, you can get a recovery of Lenovo for Windows 8 media!

Go to the following link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovorecovery

(It help you understand why this method is used on this page as well)

    Select Start,

Please have your serial number of your laptop, (to find it go to this link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/find-product-name)

If you qualify (which you will very probably) Lenovo will ship for free, recovery disks give it a go, took me 2 minutes.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards, Max.

  • A question about the program of paint on Windows 7

I used old paint in Windows XP, hundreds of times, I've now updated for Win 7 and I am very disappointed in the new version of paint.
In short, yes it has some new features, but generally he went back, big time.

    Let me explain.

In the past, let's say you want to draw an object, a certain color, with Win XP, you just select a color and draw your object, now there's all this color 1, color 2. Yes, you can always get what you want to do, but it is much more tedious, much less intuitive.

Another problem, the undo function (a very common tool) is hidden in one of the menus, you must drag to your command bar, even with the zoom in, Zoom out, yes they are there, but hidden away. WHY?

A big, big problem in the system of color fill. In the past opens a GIF, say you had a large surface area, and it was all the one-colour, with a click, you can change the color. Try this in Windows 7, and when you save the image as a GIF file, you get all the grainy areas

With granular fill means that the color cannot be changed again. (except everything clear and re - fill which is darn time consuing, or save the image under a 256 color bitmap. The problem with bitmap, is there a huge file to GIF format size. NOT HAPPY

In addition, the Eraser button. On Win XP, it was white, nice and simple. Now, he must tinker with what color you want the eraser to be square. Much more complicated, why don't you just have another gum that is always set to white? Have 2 erasers. Much less intuitive, much more tedious.

In Win XP paint, want to resize something, it was easy to say tilt Thexaxis say 150 percent, but the axis is left unchanged. Now it's more complicated. They are locked in. I'm sure you can tinker and it immutable, but it's not simple and easy, much harder to do.

My overall impression of the new paint 7 win, is that it is much more tedious and much less intuitive to use. NOT HAPPY.
Yes, with practice I can work around probably many bad features, but probably it will take a lot of tweaking.
It's more complicated and much less easy to use.

This leaves still not resolved the fill color on a GIF chart feature. For example, suppose that you draw a hollow black square, depending on whether you fill the inside a color (XP there was about 16 colors or you could flood, perhaps more.) when you have saved the GIF image once again, the picture was clear and the embanked area was perfectly monochromatic. This allowed low size and the ability to change the color, if you want to. EASY.

Try to do this in Win 7 paint, and the embanked area is grainy, when you save it. Even if you save the file as a GIF file as soon as you start. WHY SE PRODUCT. In win XP paint, I would start a new image and before I started one line, I would and then save it as a GIF, in this way when I recorded it again, all solid colors in areas would be unchanged. Does not work with Win 7 paint.

Seems I have to get my old PC works again and use the XP on it to make my images.
Side, I have made hundreds of sketches on Win XP Paint and know how to use so extremely well.

There is another paint program, you might find useful:

  • Question about windows theme and display of Web pages

I have everything, I'm new here, I've had my laptop for about 8 months, but it was stored for the 6 months, so he had only 3 months of use, and that was 99% for watching movies as was my laptop backup (my girlfriends, which was never used)...
Well I just got my laptop storage and started using it again as I want now to do that my main work computer, it's a Satellite A100 Series. Running Win XP Pro SP2. Well, now I used it for about 1 week now and this is a fantastic computer, expecially the swipe away feature, I'm usually one XP Home Edition, but I do with Pro, just did not have any experience with it...

Now, here's the problem, and this has always been the problem since bought, when we first bought it and connected to the internet with IE7 fonts have been massive, I figured out how to fix this in the display after a few hours to play settings and also noticed Web pages if there is a background image, it does not appear... (I also found this week is the same for any application on the PC that uses a Web page as Set up, or something, just sectain things... as I open the Security Center in the control panel and everything is white, and background images aren't there (which is white) and even corners which are background pictures are not displayed and comparing to) my other computer, there should be a green and red, background color etc.
With Windows Media Player buttons should be as purple and black in WMP11, and they like a white background style html on buttons with links to them at the top and playback, stop, etc buttons have a back outside and the inside is white...

Basically what I'm saying, is that she appears not CSS style WC3 content on some pages and applications on the laptop, and with regard to Web pages that they are exactly the same, I tried IE7, FireFox, front Browser, and still, the only one that displays pages almost as it should is Opera 9.2, but I really need to solve this problem... it is something simple to do with display obioussly , or settings, but I have tried literally every single different way of doing things last week, tried everything in the Control Panel, all toools Toshiba and no results.

I'm not a beginner, or whatever it is, I can't get this problem, I can't even think of a setting that would do this let alone in trying to resolve this... I have all the Windows updates (although as I said, he did this from the first day of purchase)...

If I could post a screenhot here I could show you... what Web pages look like in IE7 and FireFox and before (the only difference is Internet Explorer pages is mostly gray and firefox is white, gray is also.)

Another question, when I was messing with the settings in the Control Panel, under Performace I changed it to something like 'make optimal display for performace' rather than 'Best to display' and it is then my control panel simple with a white background, and everything is not how I'm used, even the categories are made for each section , they are just all grouped together here, and my house Windows on my other laptop is positioned like this, but it at least has a sidebar on the left with a button to change it back...
now I am at a loss to find the Performace button, as it is there is more, and I want to change it to 'show better for display' not the persomance... so if someone knows how to do this, please let me know... I took a screenshot of my control panel... and it's not naked, I use the Zune Windows (the black buttons and backgrounds theme ), so he used to be a gray background with a status bar on the side with all the links and details dark just like folders etc... So yes, it is another thing that I want to fix.

Also I do not have the CD to fix it, not more that I think that she needs, but I have a standard out of the box disk Win Xp Pro, I was seriusosly do a fresh install, but I know I'll lose all modules of toshiba and all the extras that it is came up with, that's the only reason for which I don't have as it has Protector Suite QL, that I would have to pay to settle down to do a cleanup, and I really want to do because there is obviously something missing, its as simple as that, there is nothing wrong with the system it is just not set up correctly.

Here are some screenshots of how I see Web pages, my Security Center Page and my control panel because I messed up he do "Get the best performace of" upward and the screen turned to the basic white and half things in the control panel is now missing, it has been setup in the previous categories... ahhhhh When I try to solve the original problem, I've done another...

    http://i203.Photobucket.com/albums/aa134/phorumws/just%20stuff/ScreenHunter_01-1.jpg

{It is the Security Center screen when I click in the Panel, that was before I did it fade)

    http://i203.Photobucket.com/albums/aa134/phorumws/just%20stuff/ScreenHunter_02Sep3021.54.jpg

("it's now my control panel once I went in ' Premformance and display ' (I think. it was certainly performace in the name of the category)... and I changed a parameter of performance and display which actually use less resources... now I can't change it back, as the button performace is no more :())

Thanks for reading and I hope although there, can anyone help me cos I hate having to do a fresh install on something as small as this, it is not many programs Add on on my laptop, as I said, it has probably beeen used 20 times ever, and especially for watching movies up to 1 week where it sat in storage for 6 months ago ,,

Any help would be greatly appreciated... I tried all the Options of the Internet, all the Display Options, all variants, I need something specific, it is not only perform the internet, but the global programs with html style links, etc. and certainly CSS style sheets and the background image in the HTML feature.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jay

Very impressive display! I can see after 4 days, nobody wrote anything to give you the solution for your problem. I read your announcement with a lot of attention and I have to say that it was not easy to figure out your problem exactly (perhaps because English is not my native language).

I know very well that new OS install is radical and last solution but I recommend you to check some forums Microsoft WXP because issue described is, in my opinion, more for OS forums for Toshiba forum.

If you display the same thing in forum Microsoft please post the link, and we can follow the discussion here.

I wish you good luck and I hope you will find answers soon.

  • Question about Windows Update in Windows 7 links.

Whenever I have run or click on the links to Windows Update to update my workstation at work I usually click the links on the left under the heading Control Panel home.  When I click on it it says "Windows is up-to-date.

This morning, I clicked on the 'check online for updates from Microsoft Update' and found about 20 updates of security necessary to my machine.  My question is, what is the difference between checking the updates link in the Control Panel Home section and check online for updates from Microsoft Update?

Verification of updates link goes to a SCCM server only?  Just curious.

Brother and sisters all the place!

This morning, I clicked on the 'check online for updates from Microsoft Update' and found about 20 updates of security necessary to my machine.

After doing the above, you have now "reversed" your source of default update from Windows Update to Microsoft Update.

What are the differences between Windows updates and automatic updates from Microsoft Updates?

While Windows Update provides updates specifically for Windows, Microsoft Update expands the service to download and install updates for other software from Microsoft, such as Microsoft Office and Windows Live. Update automatic is a feature that allows you to configure your PC to automatically download and install updates using each service, making it easy and convenient for you to keep your current Windows PC.

    Source: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/windowsupdate/FAQ.mspx

Translation: Now the automatic updates (and controls running manual updates) will provide updates for Windows and office, Silverlight, Windows Live Essentials, etc..

  • Questions about Windows 8 digital purchase

When Windows 8 is out I took advantage of the special offer Microsoft had and bought the download of Windows 8 Pro for about $40.

I used it to upgrade my 32 bit, Windows 7, existing system.

I think now to build a new PC for myself.  My first questions is can I legally use the Windows 8 Pro I bought in 2012 as the OS on my new, homebuilt PC if I wipe all of my old PC?

Given that my old system was 32-bit the upgrade of Windows 8 then in 32-bit as well.  I checked my old order info and there is no mention of 32 or 64 bits.  It just says: Windows 8 Pro.  He said even set at level or anything like that.

I definitely want to go 64-bit with the new system.  I can't wait to buy a new copy of Windows, if I have to.  How can I check if the copy of Windows 8, I bought can install 64-bit?

I appreciate any help that can be offered.

The digital download which was offered at a reduced price in 2012 is an upgrade, not a full version.

    Not. They should all stay.

However, there is always a risk something goes wrong, so you should be sure to have a good backup of all your data.

And by the way, I'm afraid, changes or improvements to 8.1 are rare. If I were you, I wouldn't take too excited about it.

  • Questions about Windows 7 Ultimate activation.

    OT: Activation of Windows 7.

My question is rather unusual. I see a lot of questions and answers online, what to do if you have lost your original Windows install disks, but I need to know what to do if I "lost" the computer and disks.

The situation is that I am trying to build my own computer and he was looking through the software on the shelves to see what we had. Well, I fell on an original Windows 7 Ultimate (not OEM and not upgrade) installation disc in its original packaging, including the product key sticker. My wife thinks she may have bought it during the last thought that she could use it in the future. I don't think that it has never installed because every machine we already bought came with a version of Windows OEM, and I am sure that we would have purchased an upgrade rather than a full version of any upgrade of Windows on these machines. In any case, I am absolutely certain (probably) any computer, it may have been installed is long gone (resolved, not sold).

Before attempting to install this on my shiny new machine, I want to know in advance what kind of questions can I meet as much as to try to activate the product on the new machine. If it has been installed and activated in the past, the computer on which it was installed is so more current usage, but will that prior activation prevent me to activate it on the new machine? If this situation arises, what should I do to convince Microsoft to inactivate it on the old computer?

The fact that a product has been activated for a long time, does not mean that the PC, it was activated on still works.

You would have created with Office 2013 and files installation and any key is held in the account of MS win8 on purchase which you can access at any time to reallocate your key to a new PC (commercial versions)

Some other software manufacturers have a similar system

  • Question about Windows 7 reformatting

Hey all, all the technicians out there, I wonder:

I have a laptop HP which originally had Windows Vista installed on it but at the time was eligible for the upgrade to Windows 7, I did successfully. However for the moment I would like to do a full reformat using Windows 7 (I have the official CD 7 through a custom built PC). My question is, can I reformat the laptop using a CD of Windows 7, bearing in mind that the laptop originally had Windows Vista? To clarify, using the Speccy program, I have found the key to current series recognized by Windows 7 checked and authenticated by Microsoft (and this isn't the same cd Key on the back of the laptop that is Vista).
TLDR Version: Windows Vista > upgraded to Windows 7 using Microsoft free update > reformat using the CD with Windows 7?
    I appreciate all the answers
    Thank you

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Re: Question about Windows 7 product key

Unfortunately however used the product key for windows 7, which is located on a sticker on my laptop and I can read is no longer to reinstall windows. Y at - it an is I can get it back?

Stand by. I understand that you want to reinstall Win7 but I put t understand your problem. I have the same model of laptop and find out how it works.

    Satellite P500 comes with pre-installed 64 bit Win7.
Original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive, or you can also create DVDs of recovery for the installation of the OS. When you use the recovery image for Win7 installation you n t need license key.

So I must ask you: you want to install the Toshiba recovery image or your own operating system installation using the Microsoft installation disc.
