  IM the proud owner of the laptop Lenovo SL - 500 series. I never had any problems until today:

  I decided to add a supervisor and Boot password in bios to better secure my files, I found a huge problem here and I found the solution that perhaps others would like to know too:

  Example:

  Ive like password "abc123 #1" in the bios, he asked me to confim this password and I did it. All is well until now.

  I restart my laptop and he invites me to type my password to start:

  the symbol # is NOT handled correctly in the bios. If you set the password, it allows. If you try to change it and retype the password it allows. But when you're out of the bios and the password prompt is displayed. It wil not understand the special symbol.

  What causes your password not valid cause is not the 'same' password.

  Solution:

  I replaced the # with the TAB key on my keyboard

  So instead of typing the # I knocked my TAB key once (Yes it magicly is considered as a symbol).

  So that was my password 'abc123' TAB '1 '. Instantly my laptop boot and I was able to access the bios again and remove my password set using the TAB key instead of the special symbol # in my password.

  So for future reference: do not set a special symbol like password in your bios. Even if she acts as if it was OK. It will be brick your laptop and it will cost you a new motherboard if you find out what the symbol is replaced by.

  In my case No. == TAB, I don't know what it is for other special symbols and im going to try it!

  I hope that people will appreciate this information and this will help other people who accidentally brick it portable by applying a special symbol in the password here!

  Thanks to consolidate related topics. Based on these discussions, their solution was to omit the special character when access to the bios, but this current thread's advise to use a different key replaces a special character. However, it doesn't matter as the most important thing is to ban the use of special characters in the first place. Don't you think?

• What is the best, safest and easiest way to store and manage passwords electronically?

  I know there are a lot of programs rated password and management services on the market for Windows users, but I hesitated using an any of them because I don't know how security, they are really - it seems as if a sneaky programmer could easily include a hidden back door hack that would allow them to fly without the knowledge of the user. Unfortunately, these days, data breaches continuing in societies and in the sites of the Government, demonstrated with some certainty that there is no really safe, more.

  Keep a written list of password is a little awkward; He takes each password to manually write down, then looked up and typed to the computer, and if you lose the paper list, you're RUINED.   I don't think that you are missing something.  I don't think that it is possible to get a definitive answer to your question.  The best policy is impossible to establish when it comes to the protection of password that hackers are as unpredictable as the burglars.  I offer you the results of my investigation into the matter simply as material for thought.

  I just tested out and seen this error in the output panel:

  Feature not supported: symbols several frames in masks.

  It looks at the canvas, you can only animate your mask on the main timeline, but not inside the symbol of the mask.

• The use of masks to cut a hole in a layer

  Can someone help me please.

  As soon as I thought that I had the idea of the use of masks to cut a hole in a picture of a book on Photoshop CS6 I tried my own exercise to see that I couldn't have my idea to work: -.

  (1) Firstly, I chose an image of clear blue sky as a background image.

  (2) second, I chose an image of a duck set amoungst it's own background.

  I proceeded as follows: -.

  (1) I open both images in Adobe bridge.

  (2) then, I made a selection of the duck using the Selection fast and saves the selection as a selection tool.

  (3) I renamed the layer of duck, just duck.

  (4) then, I opened the picture of the blue sky and named the sky of the layer.

  (5) then I went to windows, arrange, 2 vertical space to get two images on the screen.

  (6) using the move tool and I spend clicking to align the image of duck in the center of the image of the sky.

  (7) next I layer sky move towards the top of the layers stack.

  (8) then I loaded my selection of the duck.

  (9) next I clicked on add a layer at the bottom of the Panel.

  (10) I then painted with a black brush to reveal the duck under sky.

  Everything seems to work well, but rather than get a picture showing just theduct across the sky, it appeared that the selection has been

  no work and he selected the entire image with duck and its background.

  Can you plase advice why and how can I fix my proceadure to get the correct result?

  You have a lot of steps here: some useless, some confused. I suggest you just starting from scratch.

  Bring up the image of the sky. Evoke the image of a duck and drag on the image of the sky as shown below.

  Select the duck and with the mobile dotted lines showing, click on the symbol of the mask at the bottom of the layers panel.

  I'm trying to add a filling of solid color, for then reverse, then painting on the skin of the subjects. It's a step, I followed another photographer, however my photoshop isn't allowing me to do the same thing.

  I add a solid color fill, selecting multiply and at 30% opacity, then trying to invert-, but it is not allowing me to reverse! I'm getting shortcut command - I also tried to manually no reverse, no chance.

  Is there something I could have disabled in my settings to allow the color fill is not to reverse? I'm certainly of the selected layer mask. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

  

  I think that the photographer had this in mind.

  1. open an image

  2. Add a layer of white

  3 Edition > fill with color, the photographer suggested (I guess a color similar to the one I used)

  4. change the blending Mode to multiply and the opacity to 30%

  -Now comes the part that you have misunderstood:

  5 hold down the Option (Alt) key and click on the symbol of the mask in the layers panel. He will place a black mask - rather than the usual white mask - in the layer above the image. (The Option key 'inverse' mask color)

  6. with the selected mask, use the soft brush-lined to paint on the face in white in the image. White appears in the mask.

  As I said at the beginning, I think that's what was in the mind of the photographer.

  Hi all!

  I have a picture of a bottle containing a reddish cinnamon liquid.  There is a line of text on the bottle which needs to stand out much better...  Screenshot attached of the actual bottle of samples, close them up.

  Can anyone suggest how to get the text to pop w/o touching the back at all?  I played a lot with the levels, but it doesn't help; the background reflects the changes.  And it is almost impossible to get a good selection on the text portion (unless I do this pixel by pixel).

  Hoping that someone with much better PS smarts can give me an overview.  If possible, I will probably need almost the instructions.

  I hope that you can start with a very focused image, then:

  Select > range of colors... and choose white lettering

  Lead the two sliders all the way to the right and click OK

  Cmd + J to move the selection on its own layer. Lock the transparent part of the layer using the symbol at the top of the layers panel

  Change the blending mode of the layer to screen

  Hold down the Option key and click on the symbol of the mask. The mask will be black.

  Paint with the brush 100% white. No need to be careful... only the type will be affected. The red background is not affected

  as a first step, I would like to excuse my bad English, and I hope that I can make my problem as clear as possible.

  Currently, I am working on some photos for a children's book. It is necessary that as black outlines and I have already worked them all out. Now, I want to do some fine work inside the pictures, this means, for example, I want to capture some end points of the vectors (with the white arrow tool) to move (points) or remove them - as it should.

  In some files, it works without problem, and in some, I can just click on the path and move inside the way holding the mouse button or keep the pen on my graphics pad), but I can't grasp the point of arrival. When I move the cursor over the point, it will appear as it should, but I can´t the mark with a single click. Not even with the zoom very deeply in the image.

  What is a bug? Or have I made a mistake, the wrong setting and I am not aware?

  I'm afraid I have to redo these photos with this very annoying problem.

  I m working with Illustrator CS5.

  Can someone help me?

  Path is German for the path, I guess, so that the rules on my idea that it could be a symbol or a mask.

  If the solution might be as simple that hit H CMD to display everything.

  The attachment contains two screenshots of a movie clip timeline.  The images consist of a symbol of type mask by dragging another diagonally a text layer and an image button by dragging to the left under a blue aqua mask.

  When I rub the timeline - things work very well. But when I discovered the movie via the control menu, dynamic text is not displayed.

  The images illustrate the layers of masking in unlocked or locked mode.

  I have no idea on how to solve the problem. Appreciate that all that suggests.

  PS: I'm using CS4.

  What movieclip contains the text that should appear and the mask which should reveal the text?  If it's page1_mc, you will need to set page1_mc.
