Sync contacts from iphone to gmail?

Is there a way to configure Gmail on the iphone to sync contacts from iPhone to Gmail?  Adding a contact via Gmail on a computer works like in the contact is displayed automatically in the Mail on my iPhone.  But if I add a new contact on my iPhone, it does not sync back to Gmail.  Is it possible to make this work?  Looks like this should be obvious?

Are there really no solution for this?

  • Transfer contacts from iPhone to another iPhone

    Hi all

I got very fast, good answers here before in my previous question, so I hope for another sterling effort today

I have an iPhone brand new SE, that book of Contacts has been recently synchronized and damage the contacts filled my old dead 5 s to iPhone because of water 8 months ago.

I've been using trusty old iPhone 4 to my wife for the last 8 months before buying the new iPhone SE.

Quite simply, what I want to do is to "update" my iPhone contacts SE with contacts from iPhone 4, without deleting the contacts already stored in the iPhone SE.

I tried to sync contacts from iPhone 4 in iCloud and you connect with the same iCloud account using the iPhone OS. He asked me to merge the Contacts, I did, but still no update.

What should I do to get what I want to do over?

    Thanks for the help.

Have you tried to disable the synchronization of the contacts on your new phone in iCloud/settings/Contacts, tap "Yes" If asked to keep the info on the phone.

Restart the phone and activate iCloud contact synchronization, iCloud once again should begin to merge your info after that.

Sometimes it also helps to trigger the synchronization by adding a new contact or by changing some info on the new device.

  • Have just iPhone 4S. Can't sync contacts from my iMac/iPad?

I try to sync the Contacts from my iPad and iMac for my newly purchased (used) iPhone 4S. When I go to iTunes on Mac, I offer "iPhone sync" and then nothing happens.  I guess it's possible? The Mac has v 10.11.16, and the iPhone has 9.3.5.

It doesn'[t seem to work in the opposite diurection either - I added a few contacts in the iPhone and they do not appear in the Contacts on the Mac.]

    Sync works with Notes, well.

    Any help is appreciated!

You can use iCloud to synchronize Contacts.

On the iPhone and the iPad: settings > iCloud > Contacts on

On Mac: Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Contacts on

All changes to the contacts on any device should automatically synchronize with others.

  • Restore the Contacts from Iphone restore

I'm very frustrated by that.  I had to do a total restore my Iphone 5 as a result of an error in the former area software and storage being gone.  I backup of the phone before doing this, but that the backup is worth nothing because to restore the previous backup would return to restore the bug in the software again.  So I basically had to a do a new restoration of the phone and gradually bring only my necessary stuff on the phone.  I can't seem to get the contacts and calendar, that I had to come back and I see on Itunes there is a place to synchronize those.  Still when I sync them they are not restored.  My contacts have some inside information, but lack of contacts.  Those who are there are missing phone # s and addresses e-mail.   I can see the calendar and contacts that they were originally on my Ipad so I know that they are at least there.  Are not the contacts and calendars supposed to migrate in Icloud and update all my Apple devices (I have a Mac Pro too) so that they are compatible?  If there are some parameters jiving not somewhere I'm lost as to what to do and what devices for all works in harmony.

My plan is to do a backup of my phone after I put everything so that I have a clean backup, that is not a bug in there and has all the correct information.

    Hello heffmonster,

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important getting your contacts on your iPhone is to you! From what you said, it seems you maybe problems with having the correct accounts added to your iPhone after you restored, since you mentioned that the lack of contacts are on your iPad. You asked if iCloud syncs contacts, and he does, but only those in iCloud. iCloud will not synchronize contacts that are related to other accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. I check what are the accounts on your iPad and make sure your iPhone has the same ones added correctly. I have iphone 5s which has 1800 more contacts, (icloud + google contacts). now I have another iphone 6s I planed to use with iphone 5s together.

I installed my iphone 6s as a new iphone and use the same apple ID, now the problem is when two phones Internet access incoming calls received on two phones at a time, and a second my all contacts are not displayed in new iphone 6 s 320 icloud saved contacts out of 1800 are the shows What to do I can use two iphones.

    For simultaneous calls

Settings - phone - calls on other devices - OFF toggle

With regard to contacts - one option is to import your contacts into Outlook or Gmail and then set that upward on the new phone - contacts will come with the e-mail account

    Another option

Use a free application like FullContact

FullContact - synchronize, manage and back up Contacts with multiple devices

You must explain what stops you to do, and what is your configuration. You have the same iCloud account connected to all devices and Macs? Do you have Contacts enabled in iCloud? Have you tried troubleshooting? If so, what have you tried?

  • How to sync contacts from iMac iPad and iPhone

I did clean and fill my Contacts on iMac (version 10.11.6) and then I tried several times to synchronize these (81 cards) with Contacts on my iPad and iPhone (SE).
Whenever I do it (via iTunes) I don't get all the 81 cards on other devices and becomes changed my correct Contacts on my iMac.

I just installed iCloud, but the mess just gets bigger.

If possible, I would prefer to use iTunes for this operation.

I can't find 'step by step' clear guidance how to do this.

Only a lot of conversation and advice that increase only my confusion.

I wonder if it wouldn't be better to first delete all Contacts to iPad and iPhone and then 'move' (how?) my Contacts iMac iPad and iMac.

But I can't even delete the Contacts of the iPad and the iPhone in 'single action' I prefer not to delete these addresses one by one.

Please be so kind as to help and know that I am far from an expert in the software, so I prefer the simple tips "step by step".

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Muizen,

The official way 'Apple' is now really use iCloud.

I would export all your contacts to your iMac like this: http://osxdaily.com/2015/07/14/export-contacts-mac-os-x/

Then delete all the contacts of all the devices you have

Then turn on iCloud contacts on all of these devices

Then reimport your contacts previously exported to your iMac and it must synchronize everywhere.

  • How do I backup notes and contacts from iphone

I can't figure out how to get Notes on my iPhone5c stored in iCloud.  It seems to get contacts, but not notes.

My wife also has and iPhone5c and she cannot get contacts or notes of backup to her iCloud account.

What are we not understand?  I searched and read all sorts of documents about iCloud doing and not from backup and can't really make much sense.  We just want to save all our Notes, Contacts and Photos and videos.  We get the Photos and videos because we have activated the feature that keeps in iCloud and puts only a proxy of it the picture of your phone; While we have.

So the question is: How do save us our Notes and Contacts to iCloud?

p.s., We are not going through iTunes for backup.  I guess it's called Syncing, right?  I don't want to do that because I don't like iTunes.

You can activate the backup to iCloud by going to settings > iCloud > backup who light up. It backs up automatically when the phone is connected to food, locked and connected to wi - fi. Alternatively, you can trigger it manually by using the Back Up Now on this same screen. Note, however, that you will not see the backup content when you open a session https://www.icloud.com/

Notes and Contacts that you can see in the https://www.icloud.com/ have nothing to do with a backup. They are synchronized and are (or should be) to the https://www.icloud.com/ if you have settings > iCloud > Contacts and settings > iCloud > Notes on and if iCloud is the default account for them. If they are not sync it, what follows has a number of things to review (including if iCloud is the default account): get help using Contacts iCloud - Apple Support
