Syncing iTunes between Apple devices without iCloud

Hello

I want to synchronize my iTunes between my Mac and my Macbook Air library.  I tried to connect via a cable Thunderbolt, but the icon does not appear in iTunes.  I believe to sync iTunes via iCloud, you pay a monthly subscription.  Is this correct?  Is the only way to do this via a USB port to a USB cable between the two devices?

I use an old computer, but I don't think that file sharing can be done simply with USB or Tuunderbolt.  It can be done by using file sharing which is set up in system preferences.  Yet, I don't know that it is the ultimate solution for your desired result, particularly if you want to "sync" to your library. For iTunes on computers, there is not this function as another "synchronization" by ensuring that you have personally copied all the files from one to the other so that they are identical on both computers, or by using a common repository and only run iTunes on one computer at a time.  There are too many possibilities to list them all here, so it would be useful to have the exact details of you what you want to do (not that we can guarantee it won't be possible).  Oh, Yes, the official solution from Apple would use iCloud. Even in this case, it is not perfect sync as far as computers are concerned.  Corresponding has an annual subscription.

It does not sync to my text Message shortcuts between my iOS devices (iPad Air 2 Wi - Fi, iOS 9.3.2 and iPhone 6 s, iOS 9.3.2) and my Mac (OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)).

    Hi Virtanas,

I understand that you are having problems with your text message shortcuts don't no synchronization between devices that are connected to iCloud. Have access to usage they are practical so I can understand wanting to ensure that they operate.

I know that you have already tried to extinguish iCloud on all your devices, but I recommend you to try to connect on iCloud on all your devices, and then restart your devices before you sign in. If that is not the case, the next step you can try is to disable your iCloud of Documents and data on your iPhone and then turn it back on. You can do it on your iPhone by going to settings > iCloud > Documents & data. If you have upgraded to iCloud by car then you would rather go to settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive and toggle the iCloud drive function works. You may also do this for your other devices that are connected to iCloud.

    Best regards.

  • Sync iTunes with all devices, unless memory

I have a problem with syncing my iphone 5.

I added 10 songs over to one of my playlists. Any yes I checked the memory of the songs, theses is less than 30 MB.
So there is no other changes made by me to itunes. Today, I tried to sync my Iphone to get these new songs on it. But know not itunes tells me an error like: "the XY Iphone cannot be synchronized, because theres not enough memory for all objects selected (5 GB extra needed)". "

Same thing with my Ipod Nano. I use it only for listening to music in the gym, there is nothing more about it. So I just tried to sync ipod nano to get my 10 new songs on it for my sport. But the same thing happens here: "the XY Iphone cannot be synchronized, because theres not enough memory for all objects selected (2 GB additional necessary)". "

And I have nothing in the ipod since the last backup or synchronization has been performed. So I think that it can't be any bad action by me?
I tried to google my problem, but can't find any solution for this problem. Solutions always say, try to remove various tricks to get more space. But seriously? 5 GB more space for the only change of 10 new songs?

Does anyone know, what happened to me just know? Or maybe know a solution which is not a sort of trying to delete something...

I have 32 GB of memory on my Iphone 5. And at this moment I have 710 MB of free space.

I do the same procedure as any time. Just get new music, throw it in your playlist and sync. I've made further changes on any setting in itunes or on my Iphone.

I tried to update my Itunes to the latest Version, but its still the same problem.

I was thinking about getting the latest ios on my phone. Currently its IOS 9.2. But I think that they don't fix this problem whatsoever in old versions. And the problem is still on my ipod nano. Besides this I made clocks with this state of software in the past without any kind of errors. So, this could not be the point of...

IM new in this Forum or community and the Germany. So hope you understand my problem.

I would be grateful if anyone has an idea what is going and who knows a solution.

    Welcome, Micheel

It seems that sometimes iTunes is unable to adjust its sums and does not account correctly for content that is already on the device. The following steps should resolve things assuming that all of the content you want in your library.

(If it is not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device).

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

  • iMessage on Apple device with number of non-iPhone

Perhaps a weird situation, but if you have a Droid phone and an iPad, is possible to record the phone number assigned to the droid with iMessage so that when someone texts the number, he would come thru on the Droid and the iPad via iMessage?

Lol IMessage works only between Apple devices, not droids.

  • ICloud sync broken between Yosemite (too old for El Capitan) Mac and iOS9.3 on devices, for all Apple applications. Any solution?

Since that is new iPad and iPhone one last week, with iOS 9.3.4, I can't rely on iCloud (iCloud Drive) for synchronization between these devices and my iMac on docs or entries that I create in Pages, Numbers, calendar, Contacts, Notes, reminders.

With no synchronization goes, I am now frustrated with Apple based applications.  The only solution is to buy a new iMac that can do El Capitan for iCloud to synchronize?

My 2008 iMac cannot go beyond the latest version of Yosemite.  Even apps that I continue to use without problems - except iCloud who can't do what it should.  According to me, only yosemite on the iMac in 2008, was made bankrupt by the last iOS.

That's the problem - unless someone has found a workaround.  Without a functional iCloud, sync that I've been waiting for has disappeared.  I need to change how to manage what I do on the devices and the computer.

I would like to find a way to "merge" safe documents created in these applications on both devices and the computer. Initially a merger will have duplicates.  I can't let the docs on any device replace the docs on the other.

To avoid any loss of docs on any device and computers, I'm afraid to try to use iTunes.  So I won't try it.  Maybe I need to go "manual" and look at the files on each and do the merge manually, by sending an e-mail.  Help!  I discovered this by accident and now that I look closer I see that synchronization does not occur.

between Yosemite Mac (too old for El Capitan)

Any Mac that can run in Yosemite can run El Capitan. Early 2008 iMacs can run El Capitan.

  • iPod Classic not registered as one of my devices in iCloud, but in iTunes

Okay, short of a Mac, I'm completely in the Apple gear with my devices.

I'm all mounting upward so, made sure that all my t were crossed and i's dotted. Yes, color me surprised when my old 120G Classic iPod appears in ITunes, but not registered as one of my devices in iCloud (he is quite present in the "my support profile, as it should").

It's very confusing, and I don't know what to do with him. It works well, sync in iTunes as it should, clearly shows my property, but here, it is not a 'thing' in my iCloud.

Little tip if you want to be so nice.

    Thank you.

iPod (except iPod touch which is a device like the iPhone iOS) is not associated with your Apple ID.  Your iPod is associated with the iTunes library to synchronize.  Your computer and its iTunes library can be attached to your Apple (and iCloud), but your iPod is not.

NOTE: Your iPod is on your Apple ID media profile, but it is only for warranty service purposes.  There is no direct functional interaction between your iPod and your Apple ID.  Your iPod does not interact with iCloud somehow, and there is no Internet connection.

  • Can I remove photos from the fotostream on my iPhone without losing them on my other devices / in iCloud?

We use several Apple devices, from iPhones. I got all the apps and photos on a single account, iTunes (including iCloud).

Sometimes the memory of one of iPhones is full. I want to delete the photos in the photo gallery on the phone. Can I do that without losing the photos?

    Thnx for the tips!

    Marcel

If you use an Apple ID, devices are kept synchronized. Deletion in the stream of deletions of all devices using this code from Apple.

  • Removal of iTunes on one computer without affecting other devices

    Salvation;

I turn on a laptop computer to someone else at work. I have been using my personal account to my iTunes music library and it is connected to iCloud. How to clear my songs on this computer without affecting my other devices?

    Chris

Transfer your library to another computer. When you synchronize it will search this library.

Moving a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/ALT key to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder.

When it's to a new computer put the iTunes folder copied to the default location of Macintosh HD > users > * user name * > music (or home > music) so you don't even have to start with the down option, iTunes will automatically look for what it y.  (Make sure that it is no anything already in the iTunes folder it that you want to keep because you will replace it with the one you are moving).  Don't forget to authorize computer in iTunes to your Apple ID if you use it to synchronize with Apple devices or play multimedia DRM protected (e.g., movies).

Ideally, you should then restore the computer to the new condition.

  • I can't synchronize notes between my apple devices

    Hi guys,.

I can't synchronize notes between my apple devices.

I have the same account iCloud for iMac, MacBook, iPad and iPhone.

Since a month ago, they stopped sync.

I try to reset the iPhone and iPad, I tried to disconnect the devices of the iCloud, but when I turn it back on their

everything is in the same way, the notes on my iMac is not other devices.

If I make a new note, they sync between iPad, iPhone and MacBook, but not with my iMac

I'm really very confusing in this area and do not know what to do

    Help, please

    Thank you

    FP

First of all, that the notes in the iCloud category will synchronize with iCloud. If you have any comments on my Mac, or synchronized with another network service, that they don't synchronize.

If note that synchronization are not, please open the iCloud pane in system preferences. Make sure that you are connected to iCloud with the good Apple ID and the Notes selected. Uncheck and check again.

If notes still don't sync, ask for additional instructions.

  • must anyone using iCloud photo sharing have an Apple device

The family has an iPhone or a Mac computer.  Some computers are older and do not work elCapitan.  Should everyone have an Apple elCapitan device to use sharing photos running?

You can view sharing photos without an Apple device, if you share your albums as a public web page and send the link to anyone without an Apple device, see this help page:

iCloud, sharing photos - Apple Support

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT202786

You can even share albums with friends and family who do not use iCloud. Just open a shared album you have created, go to the people tab on your iOS device or click on on your Mac and turn on the Public website. Your photos publish on a website that anyone can see in an up-to-date web browser.

  • What is exactly the point of iCloud so you can't delete anything out of your device without deleting also iCloud?

And why I pay for storage that goes beyond what my device can handle, if she can never exceed what is already on the device?

iCloud is not archiving. It is not designed to be the place to store your content off-camera. That's what Dropbox or better LiveDrive.

It is designed to easily synchronize your content between multiple devices. Photos, contacts, calendars, music and so on is accessible from any device you want in near real-time. This is possible because iCloud is the content of the place is sent to and received from. An intermediate step. Not a destination, but a step along the way.

You take a photo on your iPhone and Pounces on your iPad in near real time without any effort on your part. If you have family and friends you can make shared albums that update in near real-time. they display them on their devices, or even a public Web site.

If you have an iPad and an iPhone and you go back up to iCloud, which can easily exceed the 5 GB each.

If you see no value, falling back on the 5 GB account and save your 99 cents per month.

  • Can I delete all the pictures of all my Apple devices and keep my albums stored in iCloud

    Hi all

I've been Googling everywhere to try to find the answer to this, but I still have no clear answer.

I want to delete all my photos (which are already stored in iCloud), all my Apple devices, it's ok for me to access photos of the iCloud.com as long as I can use this space for other data in my cameras.

If you delete photos from iCloud they are also removed from the devices who consider them, so no.

  • How to sync music from apple with itunes of the laptop.

I am trying to sync my music apple with my itunes on my laptop lenovo but whn I connet my ipod, I am only able to synchronize my photos... I can't even open Itunes on my laptop and I don't know why.

Apple music must be transferred directly from the server of Apple's music to the equipment on which it should be used.

Opening iTunes problem is something different and you do not provide a lot of information on this subject. This question would be better asked on the iTunes for Windows forum.

  • Is it possible to sync only bookmarks in one device, for example and all the other stuff between other devices?

    Hello.

I have 3 devices. 2 of them are at work, so I don't want to sync items such as extensions (xnotifier, for example, is to synchronize my CPA), passwords for my PC at home with these two devices. But I want to synchronize my bookmarks and other things. Is it possible to separate between different devices sync settings?

    Thank you.

You may need to use two separate sync accounts, if this is not possible with a single account.
As you cannot use both accounts at the same time on a device, you will need to disconnect the computer which is the main device and (temporarily) connect to another account only synchronize to the other account to sync bookmarks.
