I don't remember the old data (ports, password, etc.) to re-create the old account to my wife several months ago and with a different ISP - I had written all this down, but it was destroyed in a fire at home - but you put me on the right track.   I have problems with Windows7 Home Premium and WWII CFS joystick operation.  I get a message from gibberish, saying that the controller has been changed.  I tried to replace the file with a version of Windows XP .cfg and also tried to re-write the .cfg file.  Apparently, this version of Windows will not allow a file to be saved with an extension ".cfg", so it does not work either.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  I have to reinstall my operating system using the custom installation available on my drive; However, I lost everything and had to reprogram all my files, folders and programs; but at least it didn't cost me another $109.00 for a new code. Thanks anyway

  If you buy a computer with Windows preinstalled, or a version OEM of Windows 8, 8 No, you can't.

  If you buy a version upgrade, you can, as long as the new computer has a licensed version earlier of Windows on them.
