  I came to the conclusion that the best thing for me is to maintain a base for each OS machine I could need.  When I need a new test machine, I'll just copy the basis, start, and change the license key and the machine name.

Recently, I had to reinstall windows on my laptop and the problem is it not activate because of my motherboard was replaced some time ago (I have no more a recovery partition). I want to know is if it is possible to make it work again with recovery Toshiba dvd or by any other means.

  If you have original Toshiba Recovery disk use for installing Windows. Recovery image is already enabled, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you use a clean version that is another story.

  I just finished rebuilding a computer of mine who went down because of a motherboard problem. After Installing Win 7 pro in the machine, I installed the drivers from the motherboard and drivers for network cards so I can download updates for windows. I have a valid key for Win 7 but when I try to activate Windows, it does not activate automatically, I have to enable the use of the phone. Activation takes more time but always succeeds, my problem is that when I get updates, I get only the first two updates, patches and update that 'fixed' Windows Update. After that, the computer will be sitting for hours waiting for the list of updates to download on the computer (I have a 100 Mbit connection to the internet) and when the list arrives, I select all updates and start the download. Then I wait... and wait... and wait... six hours or so later, when I check to see what's going down, I find that windows Update has CANCELLED all my updates and the message is that I should try again. This has happened at least a half dozen times in the last 4 days. I deleted the 'C' drive and reinstalled 3 times during this period. Whenever I have reinstall, it's fine. It's not until I try to do my updates that I have no problem.

  Just to make sure I was not doing anything wrong and to make sure that the key that I used was valid, I borrowed a Win 7 Ultimate disc from a friend who was not using the disc or the key. I installed using the disk and the key, but I'm always running into the SAME problem...   I have a 1.3.98 - tm firmware RV082 and have recently upgraded several Machines to glass & RC for testing, but they can't access the internet.

  They can access all the other mahcines internal, but cannot ping the router.  The first Pc I upgraded was beautiful and accessible to the internet without problem.

  The second started Ok but then loses the internet connection.  It can access all internal machines and if I reboot it with XP (dual boot) it works fine.  He has been an operational machine without problems netowrk for 2 or 3 years.  I tried a diffetrn nic card and another cable froma different wall point in case there was a problem that XP could cicumvent and Windows 7 has been more difficult.

  Now the second PC has started doing the same thing and wont connect to internet.

  If I disable the firewall on the RV082 Windows 7 PC connect correctly.  Can I wathc the tray icon of system on the State of PC modification simply chagnign the status of the firewall on the router.

  Occasioanlly a PC will continue to work for a short period before losing internet again or blocked him.  I have checkled newspapers and others are no entries in the standard newspaper.

  I bypassed Vista Batteux ther so a setting or something I need to change on the window smachines, but as I have Windows 7 on test in withotu the Council to clarify a problem and my two lapotps and have connected through various cafes, Internet etc. even in Spain and Brazil without problem I tend to think it's a problem with the RV082.

  If it does, then, looks like soemthing SW PC made and maybe you can endure a wireshark trace and try to sniff which continues when the PC tries to access the internet.   I'm not asking to review track, only that it can help you.    If you feel like it is a defect of the Cisco product, you can open a folder with the Small Business Support Center and they will watch the track with you.

  Over the next two weeks, I intend to migrate our Windows XP PC to Windows 7 x 64.

  For the past 8 years, that I followed so far our 350 machines, using 9 master image files, sysprep, and Symantec Ghost to display different images. I want to continue to do the same with Windows 7.

  I am aware that there is a new integrated system to achieve similar results in Windows 7, but I prefer to continue to use Sysprep and Symantec Ghost, at least in the short term. With tight time, I don't want to take the risk of problems during a little familiar.

  We have a KMS server to activate Office 2010, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 customers after deployment, and it seems to work well.

  However, I have some concerns. I read that Windows 7 limit the number of times that an image can be sysprep where would, in 3, and I have already done once with my first image.

  I got just the BONE earlier this week to 65 machines to get the job of KMS server. There are 25 clients to connect before it has sprung into action. If I only sysprep my image twice more, not worth the hours initially to get setup with all our software school and custom configurations.

  So my questions are:

  The limit of sysprep is still topical in a corporate environment where the software is licensed by an internal KMS server?

  Is there a way to stop the counter locking sysprep by using switches different system for example under the sysprep procedure?  With XP, I use "sysprep-mini - reseal - quiet" and with a file sysprep.ini to answer the configuration questions mini, I can roll with Symantec Ghost images, have machines to configure and stop once done, without leaving my chair. "

  Forgot huge benefits from the ease of creating image embedded on my existing process?

  Help with these questions would be received warmly.

  Download Windows 8.1 install for free (not the pro version), using the tool of media (which you can download here) to install it in a USB or dvd. Use the USB or dvd to install the operating system.

  I have a model in VMware VDI and use it to deploy virtual desktops using vWorkspace.  One of the questions I have is that sysprep appears to be removing the acticvation of Windows so after awhile user reports that windows activation beeds.  I have difficulty fast I've converted into a model of a virtual machine, activated windows and redeploy the virtual desktops.  A solution was to use a KMS and manage it in this way, but I would be very interested to know if anyone has this problem and if so what are the measures that you have taken,

  I always tell clients that they need to use a KMS server, when using instant preparation.  I'm not sure that there is another way.
