system slowdown

Hello world

I am running a Win7 on a hp pavilion 1063sf. My computer became very slow (startup takes a huge time and even my internet browser takes too long to load. I use Google Chrome btw)

I have also a genuine Bitdefender Internet Security antivirus installed 2014 (valid 2 years license) which shows that my system is clean, so I don't really know what the problem is. I would be grateful :) all tips thank you

If only it were still true. The vast majority of infections from the computer is asked to by the user, even accidentally, so run this first...

The base of the machine become hot? If so, check for air flow through the ventilation hole on the side of the laptop. There should be a discernible current of air coming from him, especially at the start, but if it feels just warm, there may be a problem with the cooling inside fan. This will result in overheating of the computer, and when that happens, the hard drive suffers too and will start to slow down.

Subsequently, the system will crash out because the clusters on the disk start to fail. This forces Windows to move things on clusters of good. The overall effect of this is that the reader is constantly under pressure and Windows is slow to respond to the command.

How full is the drive? Do you store videos, photos and music on it. Output of video cameras can be huge and that the disk fills up, performance will be affected, and if combined with the scenario of overheating, royally can cripple a computer...

  • How much slowdown is caused by policies how? Windows 7

    Hi all

I use Windows 7 ULT on a machine with dual processor 2 GHZ with only 2 GB of RAM.

I wonder how much system slowdown is caused by installation of 70 new fonts and more in Windows 7.

I know that I can use something like a suitcase or another program of fonts, but I want to just hard install these fonts via the "Install" button in each TrueType font.

I usually install only one, two or three fonts at a time, but I need to install about 55 fonts more after only about 15 new fonts installed, for a total current of about 300 fonts installed.

My Photoshop has not slowed with the exception of the first time I open once all the new fonts installed, when it is first of all that there's some new fonts to see, but after that first time, it always opens at the same speed, which is fast enough.

I currently have about 300 fonts installed, but I wonder if install a total of 70 new fonts today will slow this machine significantly its overall performance.

For example, will be seen 355 fonts considerably slow down the performance of my functions of browser or web system?

I found information about the fonts and Windows 7, and it seems to indicate that it takes hundreds of newly installed fonts to really slow things down, or the removal of up to 500 fonts to really make a difference to speed up the system.

I think that having less disk space on one machine, low setting for as little as 6 GB of free hard disk space, can slow down a machine because there is simply not enough HDD to be used as virtual memory space, but I wonder what the additional effect to have 70 new policies could have on this particular machine I happen to be at that time.

Thanks a lot for any input.

That would be fair. I don't know how big stock Photoshop police installation is done, but

You can not exact on how more fonts you can add different fonts using the memory and processor due to the size and complexity.

Furthermore, it is only those used at some point that will have an impact on the RAM and cpu.
This applies to your browser or software which is open and using fonts.

Regardless of case, you have enough space for the Page file, once a HARD disk is less than 15%
free space is no longer, you can defragment the drive, and this will lead to a deterioration
    in the performance.
-If you use an SSD you will always get degraded performance as while they are not defraged.
they still need 10% free space to run optimally.

I wonder - can you install fonts on a USB drive and access it from there, or

I'm not sure that what we do can be considered as a best practice, but we discovered that, provide an analysis of movement for all positions of the balance sheet accounts works very well. But you must also sort your design training, so that the customer continues to load the end of the period of the trial balance balances (your client is perhaps not very happy if you tell it to load movements instead).

  • Satellite P500 and eSATA slowdown system and start

    Hello
To connect an external drive eSATA system immediately slows to a crawl. A boot would take longer than 30 minutes (not waited so he can start windows) and the drive never shows up when it is plugged since within windows.

    I have a satellite P500 (PSPGSA - 01 G 003) with Win 7 x 64 and 2.9 (latest) BIOS.

I did a little reading in what the problem might be and have:

Most of the tips are for "esata disks must be connected before starting for them to be recognized", but then startup is so slow that I can not get into Windows.
Tried this IDE and back to AHCI in the BIOS.
Considered "looking for new hardware' in Win7 after having connected the drive/turn on.
Insured AHCI was enabled through the registry.
Disk management - check the player never appears.
Tried downgrading the chip set driver (later).

To disconnect the cable from the computer immediately accelerating upward.

EDIT: Just started in ein7 with the drive connected but it was not acknowledged.

    All thoughts are welcomed.

    Hello

S far away I know that the eSATA port supports a hot swap function. This means that you can connect the eSATA drive to the laptop after windows system started.

Have you installed the latest Intel Management Engine Interface driver? (different chipset drive!)

Remember also that this driver AHCI in Windows 7 can be activated via the registry.

  • Question of replacement HP Pavilion a6333w MoBo system # KC746AA #ABA (ECS MCP61PM-HM)

I'm working on one of these AM2 Athlon 64 X 2 4800 + (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Media
Critters Center (32 bit)) to a customer (slowdowns, BSOD, boots, hangs / freezes).

After doing thorough hardware tests (PSU, CPU, RAM and HARD drive are all very well) and make a Visual examination very closer to the MoBo, I found that at least nine of the 1800uf TK 63 caps are slightly 'dished' to the Crown and while he has not failed completely, this isn't only a matter of time, if it fails.

I came to the inevitable conclusion that it is not worth the time I put in, a lot less time and effort involved in recapping this beast, so I recommend that you replace the MoBo, preferably with an ASUS that can use its RAM, cards and CPU.

I would like to make a restore of the system since the existing D partition, but makes the question of "HP image restore and sign up OK with a"big"change like MoBO make and model or is"indexed"to an Image type particular MoBo ID?

NOTE: The customer has lost his recovery CD in a gesture!  Big surprise!

  • The amount of system memory is 32-bit Vista Handel?

I'm running a video editing software "PowerDirector 7". Now, I use 4 GB of system memory and want to extend to the 8 GB without moving to a 64 bit OS... I can tolerate some slowdown since the 64 bit OS is more effective, but I am told by some vendors that 8gig on a Windows Vista system will not work. My machine has a base score of 5.4 because of the memory of the graphics card, but a 5.9 on access to system memory. Please advise...

    Hello!

A few days ago, my PC started to slow down. The slowdown is not terrible, but it's enough to disturb my work flow. I think that it started after I updated to Windows. Since then a more update is available, but I don't the have not installed.

sfc/scannow came with few errors. Information is below.

I wonder if I have to reinstall or something like that - I only have an old recovery disc and no OEM disc. Frankly, I'm afraid to reinstall.

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64-bit

    Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, Intel64 family 6 model 9 Stepping 58

    Number of processors: 8

    RAM: 16348 MB

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series, 1024 Mb

    Hard disks: C: Total - Mo 1881852, Free - 1638348 MB

    Motherboard: LENOVO

Antivirus: ESET NOD32 Antivirus 6.0, updated and activated

    Symptoms

    1. The permissions seem to be disturbed. I have no hard evidence, but it seems that I used to now require additional measures of tasks. example: sometimes, I can't access/edit files and I have to go in the menu right and re - configure security settings. This security tab now has a message in the sense of "You must be an administrator to do so." Note that UAC has been set to "Never report" since I have the machine and that it is still so.
    2. The files take longer to load and close, and there are frequent breaks "does not respond" when I switch the focus to the app (Word, Outlook, Acrobat 9). For example, it may take a minute or two to open a PDF file, even when Acrobat is already open.
    3. Pages of the browser take longer to open.
    4. If you type gal, especially in the browser (Chrome). I'll start typing in the address bar and the bar of address remains empty, then in about 15 seconds the search results page opens.
    5. Printing does not work, I have to click on the 'Go' button on the printer itself. And it has for a long time "not responding" phases (but eventually print). It can be left long enough impression would begin, but have not tested it.
    6. A double click. Now when I double-click the items in the Solution Explorer, instead of opening the element is as if I have hit F2 to change the text. I checked my mouse settings, but in the event of double click is not a problem.
    7. Problems with the installation/uninstallation. I don't have as much time to explore this, but I could not install/uninstall some things. I did a clean boot and was able to uninstall and install, but when I tried to run the application, I installed, it gives an error message. It is the tool of diagnosis Intel 64-bit processor, which I correctly installed and executed in the past. (now, he simply say 'stopped working' and shows the location of some temporary files with the details of the error, one file said System.FormatException.

    What I tried
    -Windows Update.
-Graphics driver checked for the last update.
    -Uninstalled some foreign programs.
-Ran: Malwarebytes, Glary Utilities, MS Security Scanner (? name), CCleaner - no viruses.
-Ran something or other in the registry. There were remnants of previous removals of virus (I think that search bar do you manage leads) but nothing assets.
    -chkdsk - no error.
    -defrag - little fragmentation.
    -increased pagefile.
-sfc/scannow: some repairs. Errors that could not be fixed.

  • Events shown in the range of navigation when you view the properties of the system for recording of JFR

Which record the events shown in the range of navigation when you view the Properties tab system for a Java flight recorder? I'm guessing that they mark the time for JFR's writing of the events on the disk.

I ask because, during the capture of a lot of information with the help of JFR, we see two effects that correlate with these events: (1) CPU usage ramps up a little bit between an event and the back then, level departure after each event, even if the application workload is constant; (2) the clock used to time stamp on all the events THAT JFR capture high-resolution seems to run more slowly in the period following immediately each of these events, perhaps for the period while JFR is written to disk. The slowdown of the clock appears as an increase in the rate of events shown in the range of navigation in other tabs - I also analyzed the events selected out of the original EN file to check their apparent rate.

I see this on Java EE applications running on JBoss EAP 6.x on Java 7 on machines virtual small vSphere.

The events shown in the navigotor range in any time must appear at the same time they are created. not when they are written to disk which can be a little later, depending on the settings.

In the System Properties tab, you generally see a single spike per segment in your record. You should see the same thing if you go to the tabgroup events and enable only the Java Virtual Machine system property / Initial if Types discovered.

As for the damages of its use and CPU timestamp, it sounds interesting.

What exact version of Java 7 you use, there would be some bug fixes in later versions.

  • Troubleshooting SpeedGrade slowdown on major projects / deadlines

    Hi all

I have been troubleshooting the issue that many of us have had to deal with: the slowdown or lag that makes SpeedGrade CC 2015 almost unusable on some large projects (Direct link). Basically, I have big smooth, responsive titrant with several layers, high output, adjustment even and layers After Effects compositions - up to a certain limit. More great, feature film projects require workarounds and I am trying to find out why.

    I've already eliminated:

-GPU. GPU never never even reached 10% CPU usage or more. GPU memory usage never IM 40%. Acceleration, confirmed.

-Memory. SpeedGrade seems never to consume 4 GB or more, max, excluding the memory usage of AE. I can have 22 GB of free memory on a 32-GB system and continue to suffer from the terrible lag.

HDD/SDD. No disk access happens while I make adjustments.

-Number of tracks. Reduction in the number of tracks in the project of one (of ten), the gap remained.

-Linked securities / compositions AE / "exotic" files. Removed all of them, LAG remained.

-Spike 's CPU use, but not 100%, and it makes no sense that the processor can manage complexity in a single element but starts trolling just because there are a few other clips on the timeline that aren't a cause

Experimentation, I think what he peut is having a relationship with the following:

    -Length chronology

-Number of (active?) clips on the timeline

-Number of files in the project (whole, including other times?)

-Total size or length of the referenced clips (active)?

-Size of the project file (currently 6MB, which seems not extreme)

I managed to get a workable unworkable situation by copying the pieces in an empty timeline and SpeedGrade Direct link, but this is less than optimal. I also managed to constantly increase the responsiveness and reduced offset 'simplification' of the timeline as described above, but these improvements seem to be progressive and it is difficult to objectively say that changes really made a difference.

Any ideas how and why this happens? And more importantly, exactly when this happens?

The idea of cache seems logical, but if this is a cache, it must be in the RAM somewhere (it has no current disk activity). So it is probably not a case of Sg to run out of resources, it's just the shuttle data back into memory... This would mean that, for now, is intended to keep the memory footprint of each scenario as small as possible.

Absolutely agree with your recommendations: 2015.1 was already a great relief and I resorted to break the project into action, which makes more or less usable Speedgrade again for large projects. Also, it feels like I can get the some of the same effect by simply disabling groups of elements in the body, which causes Speedgrade to ignore (as opposed to disabling a track, which can still be reactivated to Speedgrade).

The route of the EDL was not quite as bad as I expected to be the few times I used it, and I can recommend to any project that consists mainly of traditional publishing or plans effects fully rendered/exported. Basically, if all your belongings are scaling, basic transparency and knocked down the shots, it would take little to hurt!

  • Scanner plugins CS6 audition freezes or hangs the system

It seems that whenever I try to scan for VST effects, Adobe Audition crashes at 0% or freezes my system in 6500 + loading process using 100% of my memory (16 GB).

    Accordingly, there are no plugins.

    I tried these solutions:

    • Mobile VST folder to another drive and scan it there
    • Attempt to analysis of a folder empty
    • Update to the latest version of the hearing (problem existed before and after the huge Adobe update)
    • Tried to have only some, guaranteed to work the plugins in the folder
    • Hearing running as a system administrator and by ensuring that this folder are read-

However, the result is always the same: no slowdown system or the progress leading to the accident.

    My system is Win7 64-bit.

Is there a solution or at least a theory that could be the problem?

Try to Audition for the release of your firewall. I gave him full access to the Internet and it worked for me XD

Prior to that hearing could not scan at all the plugins. It crashed / frozen or stuck at 0% when I tried to scan.

    I hope that helps!
