T61p: Question of another DVI output

Hi all

Recently my T61P and docking station advanced stopped DVI output. It seems to pass in and out at random: it will work for an hour and then the monitor will lose the signal for another hour.

Restart does not help.

Upgrading the BIOS did not help.

Play with all the settings of the monitor to boot in the BIOS, as well as the reset to default values has not helped.

There is no software change that precipitated it.

The operating system detects an external monitor and can read its EDID information and extend the desktop to this monitor, but the screen does not receive a signal.

I tried cleaning all the contacts of docking with a soft brush.

Every now and again signal will come back and then later disappears shortly thereafter.

PC Doctor detects any problems in his essays.

I tried with the other monitor, different, new docking cable DVI, but it is reproducible with all these changes.

My guess is that the ThinkPad should go to a service center, but so I hope someone will have an idea of what else I could try that might help.

Thanks in advance,

Luke.

by 110 degrees your GPU is already close to collapse temp. He must cut around 90 degrees.

  • Screen on HP Pavilion 500 DVI output

    Okay, so I recently got a HP Pavilion 500.  Works great, etc.  I have a monitor Samsung that I use on it which accepts VGA and HDMI inputs.  The Pavilion is not an HDMI output to display, but he seems to have a DVI output.  My question is, after looking in the DVI-HDMI cords, there seems to be a lot of variance cost of cord, so put guard on this kind of DVI output jack is used.  In particular, I'm trying to figure out if this is a DVI - I or DVI - D output jack.  Will be all old DVI-HDMI cable work?  I would be better to get a new video card with HDMI output, if that's what I'm looking for?  Help please!

    Hello

    Pavilion 500 is a series of many models. Sounds like your machine has the following ports on the back:

  • Inspiron 660 has no DVI output for ultrasharp monitors high quality (ie) may not work properly. SOLUTION

    My Dimension 660 Win7 with I5 processor arrived two days ago and I was STUNNED that he doesn't have a DVI output.   Only one (analog) VGA and HDMI.

    My DELL ultrasharp 2208WFP monitor ($350 in 2008) put to a almost qualtiy HD screen when connected via the DVI output of my old Inspiron 530.  This monitor has no HDMI input however.

    I plugged my monitor into the VGA output and the display on the screen was horrible, as you can imagine.

    I called Dell support TWICE and could not get a straight answer to a technician... I'm not sure they could even understand the problem.  I google searched and cannot find a solution on the issue.

    I went to radioshack and neither sales two people had a response.

    Then I studied the situation a bit and realized... If only they made a female adapter DVI and HDMI male plug into the HDMI connector on the computer... which would solve the problem.

    So... I drove to the same radioshack who said that they had no solution... and low and behold... Adapter female DVI and HDMI male.

    Now, the display is fantastic.

    I write this to help others with this problem because DELL technical support was virtually useless to me twice.

    HDMI is the same as DVI. Buy an HDMI cable to DVI for about $7 on Amazon or another online retailer and you will get the best image quality that will support your video card.

  • No DVI output of the graphics card

    Both times I had a brutal surge (no power line) which closes my UPS. Both times, my power monitor would not come (the PC was fine). I had sort of a recovery after withdrawal of the graphics card (Nvidia geforce 6100 nforce 430) and in him plugging back in, the first time but the second time, I could never do the monitor. I decided that if I removed the DVI connection and used the vga on the PC (not located on the card) connection, the monitor worked well (such as a VGA, of course). Since DVI output set its power of monitor, I guess now that I had a failure of the graphics card. Not having not a knowledge of graphics cards, I need suggestions for replacements for the obsolete (and obviously defective) graphics card. I'm not a gamer, heavy, but use multimedia functions and games of light. Thank you.

    Hello:

    I would stick with a nVidia card PCIe 2.0 x 16 because you have the nVidia chipset and integrated graphics card.

    This is my recommendation based on specifications. Performance and price wise.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814121422

    Because it has an HDMI output, so, it will disable your sound system, once you install.

    All you need to do is go into your BIOS. Find the onboard audio setting and change it from Auto to "Enabled". Make sure that you press the F10 key at this time to save the setting and again when you exit the BIOS.

    Feel free to shop around for other choices. This video card is just my recommendation.

    Make sure that you uninstall your old video card in Device Manager. Right-click on it and select uninstall. If there is a box of uninstalling driver check that too.  Instead of rebooting the machine as he asks, close it. Unplug it and install your new card.

    It starts up and let him do recognize. Install the drivers from the floppy disk, you should get with it. Then once it is nice looking, reboot the PC and go into your BIOS and change the audio settings.

    Plase after back and let us know how your video card replacement.

  • Use of VGA output simultaneously with DVI output

    My system as a Radeon X 1300 video card. By looking at system information shows a primary and a secondary exit. My screen is connected to the DVI output, which I assume is the main. The system seems to have output VGA, which I suppose is secondary. Does this mean that I can plug a VGa device activated in the VGA output and have works simultaneously with the monitor. The specific device that I'm considering is made by VRInsight GPS device for use with FSX Flight Simulator. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello:

    You can as far as I know, because I'm doing it now.

    I use a video card GeForce 6200 AGP, a 19 "monitor LCD Dell on DVI and a Dell LCD 17" running on the VGA port.

  • Question about multi analog outputs voltage outfit

    I am programming my NI USB-6008 with V ++.

    Now, I have a question. The unit has 2 analog outputs.

    When I put the "ao0" channel to a certain tension, then stop this task. Start another task, then the string value "ao1" some tension. When I do the second task, ao0 held the voltage set in the first task?

    Thank you.

    Hi Lowsfer-

    Yes, the analog output of AO1 status will remain in the last State it was before the task is stopped.  As long as the device is not reset or the computer is not turned off, the analogue output will maintain the last tension that you specified, regardless of what did the other Ao channel.

    I hope this helps.  Good luck with your application!

  • Tecra M2 DVI output

    I have a new monitor for my TECRA M2.
    It is a SAMSUNG 213 T with a resolution of 1600 x 1200.

    I have no problem to configure the resolution using the analog channel, but when I try to use the DVI via advanced port replicator, the maximum allowed by the nVidia Driver for monitors to DVI flat screen screw is only 1280 x 1024!

    Is this a problem with the driver, bios, or port replicator?

    It seems strange that my old Tecra 9000 with the old port replicator, works OK with DVI 1600 x 1200
    (also if the full screen with DVD refresh is a bit slow, but it is another problem!)

    Thank you

    What port Replicator do you use?

  • Qosmio G50: HDMI to DVI output Monitor & other related issues

    I would appreciate more help with this one as literature and research provided no firm indication.

    Situation is that I am awaiting delivery of a G50-10 and a DynaDock, and before opening the box I want to be sure that I can achieve key objectives. In particular, I would normally (in do not travel) wishes to operate the laptop with two external monitors and the lid closed. Media functions are a secondary consideration for the use of this laptop.

    The two external monitors are 22 "1680 x 1050 with inputs DVI and d - SUB.

    It is difficult to documentation, what will happen in this configuration. So, my questions are:

    1.
    Port d - SUB on the G50 will deliver 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz?

    2.
    The DynaDock DVI port will deliver 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz?

    3.
    The HDMI port on the G50, when connected cable HDMI-DVI external display, delivering 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz for use with Vista applications?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Port of question - no video - DVI double separator i7-HDMI > DVI

    What I'm missing here?

    I have an i7 2.3 g-Mini late2012.  10.8.5. in a studio where I fed a dual display

    using a separator of video signals by - everything first, Tripp Lite, now an Aluratek - DVI 2-port video splitter (powered

    units).

    Followed by all the good order in start-up, the device worked for maybe a week and a half.

    Walked away and returned after maybe 48 hours either from Friday to Monday.  Computer is running

    "sleep" mode... The attempt, no signal wake video monitor not recognized.  Powerd deactivation/activation, no change.

    Reset PRAM and disconnected/reconnected Mini power after 30 seconds... tried reconnect splitter/monitors...

    sequence... still no resolution of the video signal to not watch.  Indicators on the splitter show the signal of the i7.

    and connectivity to the monitors.  I excluded this device that the fault.

    Am following the process mfgr correct insofar as the separator like so new out-of-box in reconnecting

    power on it - getting nothing.  Strange thing is, I had the same problem with the Tripp Lite - that's why I

    bought this Aluratek separator to replace.  Now, same problem.

    When connected to same monitors, this worked fine right out of the box.

    Now the same problem as the other separator.  Changed two different HDMI > DVI

    cables. All cables. No change.

    Either monitors directly linking ON the HDMI Mini port - display works fine.

    Tried the MiniDisplay port to the separator. didn't work...

    Which may conflict in operating system - something making these monitors sleep, something system-wise

    who is disrupting this process?  Even pulled all other connections (external USB port stuff) and it

    did not solve.

    It is also a coincidence for two separators to fail with this same issue - seems to indicate something with the

    Mac. In the meantime, no double posting until I can understand it.

    Any help greatly appreciated-

    Thank you

    Mike

    I suspect the power adapter... and maybe check for a loop of mass too.

  • Satellite Pro M30: Question Abu support DVI port

    Hello world
    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 with a nVidia go5200 graphics card. The nvidia Web page asserts that this graphics card has DVI support (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/fx_mobile_fb_5200.html) but I could not connect my apple cinema display to the computer.
    The screen is connected through a DVI vga, but I don't have a 'real' addaptor.

    Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

    Thank you
    Magnus

    Hello

    According to the specification this device doesn't have a DVI - D port and there is no possibility to connect it directly to the unit. This unit video a VGA 15 pins port only. Google all over the place. Maybe you'll find a real adapter.

    If you find something interesting, please let us know. It may be useful for other members of the forum.

    I seem to have two problems with it and that's when I put the bios password on above it on the screen is rubbish, scrammble symbols. Also is it supposd to come with s-video output, but it is a black plastic in place place

    Hello

    I certainly know that the S-video port is not available on all models Equium L20. Please check the specifications of the laptop even though I think that your model should have S-video port. Please contact your local dealer and talk with them about it.

    Your device has a valid warranty and if you think that there is a technical problem, contact the Service partner and explain the problem. Please don t make some BIOS update experiences if you are not familiar with this procedure.

    Hi all

    IAM trying to build one hierarchy of another cube of time dimension ASO

    Hierarchy is as below

    Date
    -> years
    -> Qtrs
    -> month
    -> Days(01-01-2010)

    For example:

    Date (GEN 1)

    -> Qtr1 (Gen3)
    -> jan (Gen4)
    -> 01/01/2010 (Gen5)
    -> 02/01/2010 (Gen5)

    IAM another hierarchy of construction for the weekend that our company need to analyse certain measures on a weekly fashion

    IAM trying to build this way

    Date (GEN 1)
    -> 2010 (Gen2)
    -> week_end_sat (Gen2)
    -> 02/01/2010 (Gen3)
    -> 09/01/2010 (Gen3)

    I did test

    (1) I tried to built a shared Gen5 member and I did and when I tried to build another hierarchy to knowledge of generation different Gen3 iam facing problems with the rule files

    Unable to build a rules file with correct size of IAM properties

    Please let me know if you have any idea it would be great.

    Thank you
    Riou

    You need several hierarchies enabled. 2010 weekend Sam must be stored separate hierarchies.

    BTW - it would be easier and I think on a higher functional level if you have used a dim attribute instead of an alt roll up, but your choice.

  • T61p - questions card 4965AGN

    Greetings;

    I was wondering if it is possible to activate the function of "N" of the card. I'm under the it on a 5KU 6458. The installation program is on a new wireless router WD750N with Verizon published Westell modem. The router has the capacity of 2.4 & 5.0 gHz. I have the driver Lenovo as the last 14.xxx version. installed. Are there only 2 wires to the card inside the unit with the 3rd not used? Can you improve the system of the FRU 42T 0865 to activate features "N"? No knowledge have greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Donald

    If your current card is 4965 AG, there is no way to allow the spectre of "N", just to replace the card.

    Yes, you can upgrade to 4965AGN card, just leave the connector in an open environment.

    He will do very well on a router dual-band 300mbps.
