Table of contents that overlap in Responsive HTML5 output

Basically, this continues to be:

toc overlap.PNG

Is there a way to prevent this happening out of Responsive HTML5? I'm sure that this will not pass our QA, then we're really in trouble.

Try this as a temporary solution.

****************************************

Workaround temporary because it is in your layout.css, change the height to say 5000em for the two classes:

  • door - div.toc ul li.child.show
  • door - div.toc ul li.child.expanding.show

****************************************

The problem is sought in Adobe, but in the meantime the foregoing was suggested.

    Hi! How can I hide the Table of contents on the right, but not overlapping le slides, maybe endangered? Is there any in the program or script? Thank you very much.

    You can create a table of contents in Captivate, using variables and actions progress/shared.

  • How can I alt tag button table of contents that appears at the top of the menu?

    Running the latest version of the Cp7 on a windows machine 7.

    A 508 hang up once more: the customer insists on an active table of contents for the project file. We have activated the TOC and it works fine, but there is a collapsible TOC secondary button located at the top of the slide here:

    1.PNG

    Although I can change the icon for the TOC expand/collapse in the setting of the table of contents menu:

    2.PNG

    I can't put a the button alt tag, which means that JAWS and other screen just readers it reads as a button without a name - which would be 'bad' If you try to pass a test of 508 compliance - who I am. I know that alt tags do not travel with the image file, and I can't find any way to access the file in Captivate to give him a name of accessibility. Someone at - it a solution?

    Justenuf

    You can replace the current picture with one of your choice.  But even if you replace just one pixel GIF, I think that it will always record somewhere in the screen as a button reader.

    However, to be fair to Captivate, you can use the table of contents button on the playback bar to activate the table of contents if need be, or you can configure the buttons on the screen to do so.

    Personally, I wouldn't be way to recovery TOC at all.  I would try for a table of contents separate so that it did not have all the time.

    However, I had read somewhere on this forum (a year or two back) about someone of another conclusion that the links in the table of contents itself were not fully 508 compliant.  Then perhaps you're just chasing your tail here if you try to achieve perfect 508 compliance.

  • Table of contents are not present in CHM output generated with Robohelp 2015

    Hello. When I generate CHM output HR 2015, the table of contents are missing, but the search and glossary tabs are present. I won't open the file from a server, but from my desk. I copied from the server on my desktop and renamed it. The file has been created, I believe, RH 9, but I generated successfully exit CHM with this file in HR 10. Any ideas? Thank you!

    If I were in your shoes, the next thing I would try is to open the pod output configuration. Define a new CHM window there. So be sure to choose this new window in your presentation of single Source recipe.

  • Table of contents, lack of output Responsive HTML5 (Robohelp 2015)

    Problem : When I generate Responsive HTML5 output using a conditional compilation expression, there is no TOC in the output.

    I know that good content is included in / excluded from the output based on the research I'm doing in the output. The only problems seems to be there is no table of contents.

    This could be the cause of this problem?

    Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

    Dawn

    I will check later but it seems that you are missing a key point that I made in my previous answer (16 in the thread).

    You said that you have removed all the tags with the exception of a few topics. I said to apply a different tag to subjects you don't want not included but you don't have that, you have applied just 911 that you want and the TOC then included everything. It's normal and covered in the page on my site, I have spoken to you. http://www.Grainge.org/pages/authoring/build_expressions/expressions.htm

    Build Expressions

    The last point he subjects unmarked reads:

    Note that any topic that has NO tag should be included in the output.

    So what you declare in your previous post. I am sure that all unwanted subjects with any other tag marking will fix things.

  • Table of contents wrong

    I copied the file from another project. Added and deleted what I need for the new project, renames. I even deleted the old OCD, but the original TOC is constantly instead of the new table of contents. How can I avoid this?

    so when you look at the properties of the layout of printed documents, you have the possibility to choose the table of contents that you want to use. Are you sure you are using the right table of contents?

    Assuming that you have only defined OCD or you are certain you have the correct TOC selected, click Next >

    And here you see what can be included from the table of contents. If you have created at least once print, then later added subject, maybe you must make sure that you add to the page layout.

  • Table of contents are empty

    Hello

    I create a table of contents that is empty. After reading the other reviews to check the 'editor' mode it is nothing else created but the specified title.

    Please see below:

    Story Editor.PNG

    Table of contents style:

    TOC Style.PNG

    I have run the 'SplitStory' script and also erased all replacements to ensure as well.

    I have ensured that only the text fields specified are in the style of paragraph title Table of contents

    General information:

    It is a 11-page master document.

    I'm new to indesign and changed another format of people how much I need for a data merge.

    The last thing I need to work is the content.

    Hope you will be able to help me,

    Best regards,

    Chrissy

    I took another look at the screenshot and I think I see the problem. Your position is on a master page. Table of contents does not pick up the elements of the master page, but you can ignore it on the document page and it should work.

  • Hyperlinked Table of contents

    I can't find how to create a table of contents that is automatically a hyperlink for the headings in the body of the document. How do you do that? I see that you can create bookmarks, but I need the hyperlinks.

    I use InDesign CC.

    If I understand the TOC dialog box turning on create PDF bookmarks, and when exporting in format pdf turn include bookmarks and hyperlinks on the general tab.

  • Conditional User Defined Variable in the table of contents to RH10

    Hello

    I have a unique project created with tags of conditional compilation for a product in several countries. The name of the company was the same in all three countries, but now the name of the company in a country is about to change. I created UDVs with conditional compilation of tags to apply the appropriate name when aid is produced (Yay for RoboHelp 10 for allowing this).

    There are 58 topics in the table of contents that include the name of the company in the title of the topic. My problem is, if I include the UDV to the title of a page in the table of contents, conditional text is ignored.

    I guess that's because the table of contents allowing in conditional constructions apply to the page or the book itself and no text in the name of the page or the book.

    Please can someone confirm that this is the case? If so, I'll make a suggestion to Adobe.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I hope that Willam won't mind my expand a little on the issue.

    I note that you already seemed to be aware that the UDVs are possible in the text of the table of contents. And if I understand correctly, your problem here is that you want to condition the UDV in the table of contents, right?

    Certainly a way to do that would be to have two different TOC entries. And apply tags to each, so that one or the other would be excluded. But to be honest, I always avoided tagging the elements of the table of contents that I saw myself mixed results.

    The thought here for me is that I wonder why you feel the need to apply a condition to a variable? Why not use a different version of the variable? Of course, you create variables and insert them, but you can actually create different sets of variables that have different values, then when you create your output you simply choose the Variable you want to use.

  • How can I include the header of the table of contents in the table of contents?

    I prepare a table of contents in InDesign CS3 (Macintosh OSX 10.5.8)

    I added all the paragraph styles to the list of paragraph styles, I have want to appear in my Table of contents.

    However, I would also like the table of contents itself appear in the table of contents:

    In the case of the table of contents is placed on page 3, he want it looks like this

    Table of contents:

    Title page... page 1

    Thanks... page 2

    Table of contents... .page 3

    Table of figure... page 6

    Chapter 1... page 10

    and so on...

    I have included the paragraph style in the list of paragraph styles, I want to have in my table of contents. But this does not have an entry in my table of contents that is named "table of contents".

    I would be grateful for any advice.

    Thanks in advance

    To do this add a nonprinting frame to Page 3 and add the words Table of contents using one of your styles that is picked up.

  • Generate the table of contents with chapter markers?

    It has been a while since I had to install and create a table of contents for a long document of single file, but I'm sure that I created TOCs in this way in the past. Then, why the text in the Section markers will appear in the table of contents? It is even possible to generate a table of contents that contains text of article marker?

    I use InDesign CS5 in Windows. I have a file single document I'm trying to generate a table of contents for. I designed a 16-page manual in an inDesign file that includes a cover page, table of contents page and seven "chapters."

    I created a separate section for each 'chapter' and used Chapter markers in the top of the page master for chapter names. It's something I did in the past of syntactically long documents containing several chapters.

    I put the first page of each 'chapter' as a new Section on the Pages panel. In numbering and Section Options for each page, I checked the Section getting started, Automatic Page numbering, the Style of Page numbering: 1,2,3,4... and in Section marker: I put the name of 'chapter' in the text box.

    InDesign_Pages_NumberingSectionOptions.jpg

    I've set up paragraph and character Styles and has used throughout my document. When I put in place the table of contents I created everything correctly, including a heading style that I used for all the sub lines in my file and my style of Section marker for chapter names.

    InDesign_TOC.jpg

    When I insert the table of contents, generate headers sub with their page numbers, but the titles of the chapters which are chapter markers do not generate. Am I missing something or is it still possible to enter the text of chapter markers in a table of contents? I'm sure that he's worked in the past. Can anyone offer a solution for this?

    Thank you

    Kat

    Looks like the markers section present only in the table of contents if they are on a document page. Try manually to the substitution of the frame.

  • combine pdf files to PDF 1, including automatic table of content

    Hello

    Currently we use win xp with adobe acrobat 6.0

    We will go to win 7 with acrobat x.

    in Adobe Acrobat 6.0, we use the plugin "dial" to combine on 50-60 1 single report pdf. We have a file .fill, saying to compose, including pdf to take to that order.

    In addition, the new message automatically generates the table of contents with page numbers.

    In this way, you can generate the entire report in a few clicks. The name of the pdf file is never change and their container/s folder either.

    Here are my questions:

    The new version of Acrobat will provide the same functionality? Will there be a new message - plugin as well? If not, what are my options?

    Sorry for the typos, English is not my mother tongue.

    As the composition of the plug-in is a non Adobe element (plugin Infodata is) you should ask Infodata if they have a Windows 7 / Acrobat X compatible Plug-ins.

    If this isn't the case, you will need to come up with a new workflow. Acrobat, out-of-the-box, create any table of contents - that is generally provided through the authoring application.

    Be well...

  • A link to a bookmark in the table of contents?

    I couldn't find this anywhere in help. The only time where it says link a bookmark to a table of contents was if you have used the feature of automatic creation of your table of contents.

    I think I figured out how do it, but wanted to run it by the forum to see if this is right.

    This is how it is done?

    1. Add a new page to the table of contents.
      1. Enter a title.
      2. The file name, choose the topic that contains the bookmark.
      3. Click OK to save. Your page should appear in the table of contents.
    2. Right-click on the page, table of contents, that you just created. The Table of Contents Page Properties window opens.
    3. At the bottom of the page, where it says "link to", add # and the name of the bookmark at the end.

    For example, if your subject appears in the form Entering_a_New_Customer.htm and the bookmark is called address, you would add #address the end of the filename. Gives you a link to Entering_a_New_Customer.htm #address

    Is there another way to do it? In this way requires two steps and requires that you know the name of the bookmark; You can't navigate to it.

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of the use of a table of contents?

    Captivate v5.5

    I see the advantage of a table of contents that allows for the learner to see and then navigate (jump) to a specific section in a project.

    However I am unclear what role (if any) a table of contents would play if for example I have a project and I want to assure learners do not "jump" from slides/subjects and must take the project slide by slide.

    Apart show what is covered in the project and too much space on each slide vaulable, am I lack clear advantages / benefits by using a table of contents in these projects where I don't want users to have the right of skip?

  • Add text to the table of contents or the skin

    Hello

    I want to add text to the table of contents that shows all the time (is not clickable).  Is it possible to display some text of infomration on the bar of navigation/table of contents?

    Or is it possible to add it to a skin it will appear at the bottom of the screen?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi Julie,.

    You can try the project--> TOC--> Info it will open a dialog box where you can enter information about your organization, as well as a logo.

    In addition, if you wish, you can change a TOC and their default legend items.

    To do this, close Captivate.

    Open Notepad-

    Paste below-

    [TOCStrings]

    SlideTitle = Module name

    Time = time

    Status = status

    MoreInfo = my info

    Clear = Wipe

    ClearToolTip = State of Wipe

    BookMarkToolTip = book-marking

    NoSearch = String not found

    CurrTime = what

    ---------------------------------------

    Save it as TOCStrings.ini

    and place this file in the location of the Adobe Captivate installation on your machine.

    Now launch and add a table of contents to the Porject and preview or publish and see the change.

    Thank you
