TAF pool and connection

Hi all

(1) I am aware that when client-side TAF is configured with LOAD_BALANCE = YES/FAILOVER = ON / normal FAILOVER_MODE(TYPE=SELECT,MODE=BASIC) DSS queries select would failover to the surviving node and terminate properly in case of crash of the primary node. What happens when an application connects to the RAC database using a connection pool. Assume that the connection pool had 10 live connections in the RAC database at the time of the accident of the primary node. 10 connections pool connction would fail on the surviving node with the above updated TAF in place?

(2) TAF does not manage the LMD. The only way to gracefully handle DML failover is to configure the FAN where the RAC database propagates events to subscribing applications which, in turn, would take appropriate measures to rerun the LMD on the surviving node. Is this a correct statement?

Thank you

Hello

What is the connection pool you use? A conn JDBC pool or pool connections DRCP 11 g? Assumming that makes connections connection pool to the database of x then there x sessions which are shared. One of these sessions on the crashed instance fail over to the other node. How your connection pool faces the one - can not say. While flight statenments SELECT SQL will be executed from the start so that the application would be to see a break (while the statement caught up) and then starts to run again.

You are right in that if a session has performed DML it does tilt and generates an error; even of the SESSIONS of "ALTER", which the application can be run going to be rubbed, packaged variables reset etc etc. TAF is not big im afraid - Oracle appear to put less emphasis on these days TAF and more FAN (Fast Application Notification) because it allows the programmer to capture faulire events and perform a reset/reconnection and the like.

Hope that heslp

This occurs every 2 weeks. That said, the query runs fine for 2 weeks and then we have questions... we will bring together the statistics of these two tables... and things are good for another 2 weeks.

This query is a proc to store oracle pl - sql, which is called by the JDBC code. I introduced 2 months behind connection pooling, and today, we are facing this problem.

The query has been accounting for 5 years with no problems.

Before that I presented the connection pool, the jdbc code created a new connection before calling the store proc.

Do you think that my connection to the connection pool has introduced this problem.

The DBA tell me that the query runs a bad plan. Oracle recovers not the more effective plan (and that leads to this high CPU utilization).

I guess that after 2 weeks Oracle begins to pick up plans that are effective in.

  • Session settings and connection pools

    Hello

Suppose that I run a command like 'ALTER SESSION SET WORKAREA_SIZE_POLICY = MANUAL' inside a stored procedure called via JDBC and then releases the connection to the pool.  When the connection is next reused by a thread of Weblogic completely independent is it possible that the default setting may be inherited by the new thread?

I realize that there is a conceptual difference between a process, a connection and a session so, theoretically, the answer to my question should be 'no '.

But is this the case in real life?

    -Tony

The pool is a collection of putatively identical connections agnostic. If you change a connection given by means non-JDBC (specific to the SQL DBMS, opaque stored procedures etc.)

the session of DBMS, associated with the connection is changed permanently and Weblogic knows nothing about it. Yes this state persists as long as the session/connection

rest and the next user of the connection when it is returned to the pool and out again will inherit the default behavior.

Other applications, such as Oracle Application Server servers, somehow allow the pooling and work together harmoniously TWG.

The LDAP protocol must be people - Active Directory server.  Chances are the one who manages the SAA should have access at least to look at Active Directory to look that up.  If they are not they need.

Of course, I don't know a lot about what you use the devices, but if you use ISE, there should be a type of device MNT (monitoring and troubleshooting) - collecting newspapers and, hopefully, they are sent to a certain type of overall collection of syslog (splunk?) tool.

Otherwise, there should be a device called a CAM (Clean Access Manager) who collects newspapers - which can also be spread to a global tool for syslog - but with cam, you can pull reports from the output in a file delimited by commas (.csv) and pass through them that way.

  • UCS KVM issues, must remove a pool and let the pool questions

We currently have multiple pools in our model and recently a new blade from the last pool that has been added, and we cannot have it use as it is in a different subnet from the FI.  KVM will not work in this case.

Thus, management fired one IP address of this pool, and the KVM does not connect because it is on a different subnet as the FI.  We want to remove this pool, so this does not happen and reset this blade is on the other subnet 10.1.0.xxx which will allow the KVM start work. And we do not want to provoke the interruption of all the machines that run on this blade, since it's production.

My question is really, if we remove that pool, the blade will automatically happen to other existing pools?

What happens to the other KVM on the slides that currently use the pool for a KVM to this POOL session we want to remove?

As seen in the screenshot, we have blade, 1 and 2 have a kvm fired him.  Blade 3 and UCS8 is the new blade and must be handed over to another pool.  What happens if this pool is deleted in this scenario?

    See screenshot.

If you remove the ext-mgt-pool (for external access of MMIC), the IP address are removed immediately from the MMIC. No restart of the server, nor MMIC. You can set a new position-mgt-pool, and an IP address is automatically assigned to each blade.

Now, I would like to see if I can create a pool of connections to two different databases. If so, how that happen.

    Thank you!

    Hi Antonio,.

Cross database joins are possible, no problem for it. But you do not do so in an object of unique data base in the physical layer using 2 pools of connections connection to the source A and B, then adding objects to A and B children of your unique database.

You create 2 databases in the physical layer, each with its own connection pool, then you can do your knuckles crossed on the physical schema.

As a picture is worth a thousand words, take a look:

The physical diagram uses objects of A and B and define the rules of the join between them, it is a cross-database join. But in the physical layer of the database A and B are 2 separate objects each with its own pool of connections.

  • Peripheral NAT between Security Server and Connection Manager - View 4.6

    Hi all

I'm trying to deploy a view environment 4.6 - with a view Security Server in the DMZ.

The DMZ is a NAT entirely would be and isolated network (single firewall, configuration 3-leg-GB-2000 is the model of the firewall).

At this point, just trying to get RDP to work with this configuration.

The firewall configuration is as follows:

    -Security server IP - 10.1.1.49/24

-The alias created to view connection server - 10.1.1.100 (NAT IP)

-Tunnel NAT (with port 8009 and 4001) created between the server connection view and real IP 10.2.2.229 server connection alias

-Tunnel NAT (with port 3389) created between Desktop and view real IP Destop 10.2.2.239 view alias

I can RDP directly since the Security server to the desktop (via the 'alias' 10.1.1.101 IP) view correctly.

I can connect successfully from the internal network (via IP real office 10.2.2.239).

When I try to connect via the server of security (from the outside) I get the connection for the initial connection manager, and I choose the pool to connect to. However I'm unable to start a desktop session. The error I get is "the office is currently not available.

In the event logs on the Manager server connection that I see that the real IP (10.2.2.239) is used to connect to the desktop view - which will not work in this scenario (the 10.1.1.101 alias should be used).

Has anyone deployed a server of security seen in this scenario?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

According to my understanding, we can get the managed object ID of the virtual machines,

    $serv = connect-VIServer-Server

    Write-Output $vm. ID

The same with others, like first Get-VMHost, store in a variable and then the variable. ID gives you the code.

  • Change of servers with persistent pools automated connection manager

    Hello

I need to move from my current connection manager server to a new. How do I do this without losing is not my current automated persistent pool and their VM maped-> user?

Just install a replica connection manager and then just decom original connection manager? I don't make any sense?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hello

Install a new replica to connect to the server and the original installation reference. Once your new replica is set up you can decommision your original one.

All of your config data reviews will be preserved than to install a replica instance takes a full copy of the original.

Finally, you can run "vdmadmin s s - r" on the new replica, and specify the computer name of the original in order to remove all references to the old server connection. See http://www.vmware.com/pdf/viewmanager_cl_tool.pdf for more details.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to design two pools of connections to database even in RPD?

    Hello
I have a few tables in a database under different users,

first import tables under a user in the RPD, it will create a database of "ORCL" PSB and a single connection pool.

then I inport other tables under another user, these paintings also appears under "ORCL" and did not create another pool of connections.
When I view the data, it will prompt connection failed.

I know why this happened, because there is a pool of connections, a connection pool is mapping to a single user,
I try to create another pool of connections, but I think that it is impossible to the mapping of all tables in the specified connection pool.

I also tried to create another data base in DR., it worked. But I think that is not convinient.

so I would ask you how to manage this problem when you face?

You must have 2 different system DSN created for the same database with different/pswd usernames. Either go this route OR
Create or simply create an object database in RPD ORCL1 in poiniting connection pool to correct the user name and password and DSN. In addition, in the Connection Pool, check the box for "full qualified table name required.

    What shud solve your problem.

If you are in a service / filter, it is best to make queries as below in order to create a new (read: extra!) system database connection (and the handling/connection additional error closing you must take care of). Samples are available in the HowToComponents.

    final ResultSet myResultSet = m_workspace.createResultSetSQL( "select * from managedlinks" );

    or better yet

    final ResultSet myResultSet = m_workspace.createResultSet( "QManagedLinksTable", null /* no params for this query */ );

and define the outer query in your component.

  • Can a DB function used between 2 pools of connections

    Hi all
We have 2 pools of connections, 1 connected to Oracle DB Data Warehouse. The other connection pool is an Excel spreadsheet, which has projects and scheduling dates. We have modelled in MDB and her servant perfectly. Now, the question is, we have a function in Oracle DB, which works well when I use with any size of Oracle DB DW. But, when I use the same function using the dimension modeled of excel sheet it generates an error. Here, dimension sheet Excel is modeled to inculde model DW.

Error: "A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 42015] Cannot function ship the following expression. »

So my question is "is there no work around to use the same function when using the other connection pool size.

Pointers for this problem is highly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,

I agree 100% with what Dave. The function you have in Oracle should have access to the values passed in. OBIEE has access to both DIM_DW and DIM_EXCEL, but the Oracle function has no access to DIM_EXCEL. Just to give you a high level understanding of what is happen, here's what OBIEE made to combine the two sets of data in a single report:

    Assume that your report is like so: DIM_DW. COLUMN1, DIM_EXCEL. COLUMN2, FACT_DW. MEASURE1

To get the data OBIEE sends two separate applications: one against the DW that retrieves DIM_DW. Column1 and FACT_DW. MEASURE1 and another for DIM_EXCEL. COLUMN2.

Once the two request to return, the OBIEE server joined data sets and then presents them in a report.

Now, when you call your function (DIM_DW. COLUMN1, DIM_EXCEL. COLUMN2), OBIEE sends the request to just the Oracle DB. But the Oracle DB can not see the Excel data, then it fails because the DIM_EXCEL argument. Column2 is not defined to Oracle DB.

Here are two methods you could use to make it work:
    (1) configure the Excel file as an external table in the Oracle DB. Then, the function would be aware of the values of column in Excel.
    (2) port the function to the MDB using layer logic the formula Expression. According to what is your function, it is not possible.

Whatever it is, how you install now, you can't reach your goal. The reason why I recommended that you separate your connection pool Excel in a different database object is because the way you have it setup right now makes it appear like the Oracle DB would be aware of the Excel tables. But that's not true. Keeping them separated to avoid any future confusion.

    Good luck!

    -Joe
