Tags: PSE6 against Windows Live Photo Gallery
Hello
I am a user of Photoshop Elements 6, which is mostly please with the program. I avoided the Organizer assigned tags because he doesn't seem to appear in Live or Windows Photo Gallery.
Anyone know if this problem has been corrected to PSE8? I am interested in upgrading to the face recognition feature but its useless if he assigns the tags in a format that Windows 7 header / Photo Gallery Live do not use.
No idea if PSE8 uses a windows-readable header? Or I'm doing something wrong with PSE6 with marking that it does not appear in the tools of Vista or Win7?
Thank you
Brian
You specify the PSE to explicitly write the tags in the industry standard metadata fields, by using the file > command to write the keyword tags. Beware that it's bugged - if you find your tags do not have written correctly, you can use the psedbtool utility:

Windows Live Photo Gallery - how to increase the limit of tag 1010 people on the search function
The search function in Windows Live Photo Gallery people tags seems to be an arbitrary limit of 1010 different tags (1000 in the alphabetical list + the 'Top 10'). Is there a way to get around this?
When I used the Vista Photo Gallery and my tags 'people' were just a subset of 'descriptive' tags that I created, I could find just a name on the left panel. Not sure why it isn't a section he tags in the version of Windows Live people. If you put arbitrary limitations on the functionality of Visual search 'whizz bang', it would be nice if there was a relief when it does not work.Is return to the starting point - maybe somewhere where the limit is stored in the registry and it can be increased or an another workaround? There is a forum for Windows Live products. Complex issue... but I'll try to offer some ideas.Data that cannot be rewritten on the photo files are archived in the
Windows Live Photo Gallery database owner (Pictures.pd5).
So... move the files may prevent access to the data.If you move the files to another computer, you may have some
moviing success the Pictures.pd5 file also.Sometimes data are not written back to the image files, because they
are read only... and sometimes it's because of the file format.Maybe the next thread will enlighten us:

After installing Windows Live Photo Gallery, Previews appear more tags
Before you install the latest Windows Live, preview of an image would show the labels on the side and even allow them to be handled. This feature is now gone! It was very useful, please bring it back.

Error 0 x 80070057 opening of Windows Live Photo Gallery
Trying to open the Windows Live Photo Gallery, I get error code 0 x 80070057. I removed and re installed the program several times but still does not work. But it does not work on my other laptop. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit on all laptops.
FWIW... Windows Live Photo Gallery has a database file
which may be damaged. (uninstalling / reinstalling WLPG)
does not affect this file)If you rename the file... it will force the photo gallery to create a
new database file the next time, it is launched and the Gallery
will be as it was the first time it was launched.I'm not positive that this will solve the problem you are dealing with
But if you want to give it a try thefilename is... Pictures.PD6.Just rename it to OLDPictures.pd6. This can cause you to
lose tags and metadata that are not rewritten on
the photo files. The path to the file is:
Windows\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\

new file Pictures.pd6 and rename OLDPictures.p6 back to
Pictures.PD6 and the gallery should be as it was before. -
Green tint to my photos in Windows Live Photo Gallery
When I open an individual photo in Windows Live Photo Gallery, the background color that surrounds the picture is a pale lime and this actually dyed color image. If I move this image to other photo editing software, it seems normal. This has nothing to do with my color setting of Windows I've tried different settings.
On other programs, the background color is the normal white.
I found a solution by searching the Web.
Open display in Control Panel, click on "change display settings", click "Advanced settings", click on "Color management", click on the "color management" bar, click the box that says: "Use my settings for this device", click on "Advanced" tag, find "Calibrate display" and click it, follow the instructions in the menu for calibrating your monitor. " Save the new calibration settings.
Problem solved for me, the Green tint disappeared.

I went to tools, Options, attachments and there are associated programs that should be able to open files - Windows Live Photo gallery for the Microsoft Excel for excel files and JPG files. I actually download and save the files and then open them. Is there any solution for this?
Go back and delete associations and start again by opening one of these files. Thunderbird will recreate the Scriptures based on your choices and they will then probably work.

Windows Live Photo Gallery 'Read only' error.
After the Windows Live Essentials 2011 Installation, I lost all capacity for photo editing.
If I try to edit a photo that is on my PC in my pictures folder. New 2011 Photo Gallery indicates that the file is a "read only file and Windows Live Photo Gallery can not changing."
Note: The files are not read-only files. They are pictures that I had for years. Windows Vista & Windows 7 (Previous Versions of photo gallery had no problem to change.
In conclusion, Windows Live
Photo Gallery can't edit new or old photos.
I tried to uninstall Windows Live & put it back in place. But without success.
Is it possible for me to go back to previous versions of Windows Live Photo Gallery?
