  I need to throw more disk space to my ESX hosts.  I know how to bind records in Navisphere and present to the ESX host.  Once in the VI client, I "think" I need to go to the host and do a rescan of the HBA or something like that?  I'm a little unsure of the market of part VI to add more disk space.  Could someone just point me in the right direction?  Please note that I am looking to add more disks to existing hosts in existing clusters.  It adds no storage to a new host... rather an existing one.

  You are on the right track.  Re-scan storage card, under the configuration tab select storage adapters, select the adapter and click on the link of the new analysis.  Then go to the storage section and there should be a link in the top right of the screen that says storage Add.  Click on that and it will guide you in adding/setting in form/naming of the new disk.

  Hibernation and system restore are features that help users to restore their system or avoid the loss of data, in a number of situations, such as low battery (hibernation), misapplication or other corruption machine installation (System Restore).   Hibernate is mainly used on laptop computers and saves your work on the hard drive, and puts the computer in a low power state.  Hibernate is used on laptop computers when the battery runs out under a certain threshold, or to turn off the computer without using Shut Down to save the batteries as much as possible.  On Windows Vista, hibernation is automatically used with sleep on desktop computers to keep a backup of open programs and work.   Recently, I removed a partition of my Win XP laptop running.  Unlike the example of how to do it, I was unable to extend the drive C partition to new disk space unallocated.  Just try to get more space program.  Already had a split of 50% between the drives C and D.  You don't want more than one partition.

  There is no good solution at present, but it is on the roadmap for a future version of vSphere replication.

  One option is to:

  1. clone/copy the replica target records in another data store (cp/scp or vmkfstools, records are locked - you may need to temporarily stop VR server - stop /etc/init.d/hbrsrv and later /etc/init.d/hbrsrv start).

  2 consolidate in order to integrate all current instances replicates (using vmkfstools).

  3 stop the old replication, and configure replication once again, the wizard of pointing to the drives cloned to use them as starting.

  Depending on how the drives are cloned, you will need to change the cloned hard files and update the value of ddb.uuid to match the one in the source VM .vmdks / old replica .vmdks. If ddb.uuid values do not match, you will not be able to use the cloned as initial copies .vmdks.

  4. newly configured replication will be the comparison of the checksum and exchanging all waiting for updates while replication was not working.
