TDM excel automation

Hey there,

I have a script that creates *. TOC files. The annoying part is that I have to right click on the file to be converted with the TDM EXCEL ADD INN and save it under the same name as the created every time *. TOC file.

So, I tried to apply in my script but it doesn´t work.

There a piece of code, I found here in the community, but in the line that says 'oComAddIn.connect = True' produces an error.

Dim oExcel

Dim oComAddIn

Set oExcel = New

For each oComAddIn in oExcel.COMAddIns

If oComAddIn.ProgId = ExcelTDM.TDMAddin "Then" ""

oComAddIn.connect = True

Otherwise oComAddIn.Object IsNothingThen' use the interface of the object here

On the other

MsgBox "no object available interface! :-(. (("

EndIf

EndIf

Next

I m very grateful for all the help.

After running the script, please take a look in the Windows Task Manager. Excel still works?

If so, the following lines should close Excel at the end of the script:

oExcel.Application.Quit
Set oComAddIn = Nothing
Set oExcel = Nothing

  • TDM excel 2010 component snap with limitation of 65536 lines.

    Hello

I installed TDM excel 2010 component snap and have excel 2010 (32-bit version) on my laptop.

When I open a file PDM with 300000 lines using excel importer of PDM, it will automatically start the excel. But it will display a dialog box saying that the number of rows exceeds the limitation of the program (65536). It confuses me because excel 2010 is supposed to be able to open the data file more than 1 million rows.

The add-in works great with any TDMS file within the limit of 65536 lines.

Any thought or idea, let me know, thanks.

  • TDMS Excel Add-in does not limit new line Excel 2007 support

First stop, I want to say that format TDM/PTM is really useful. It allows you to perform all sorts of things that would be a real pain if you've tried to do with spreadsheets, delimited by tabs. You can format data in spreadsheets excel for analysis with separate tabs and the names of channel on the columns and the whole nine yards. You can even throw error messages in the properties that appear on the first tab.

The problem occurs when the user works with very large files. Excel 2003 and earlier versions of Excel have limits of 65 536 rows by 256 columns. Until the latest version of the Excel Add-in, CT if you tried to import files in addition to this he would lift an error and does not create any file at all. It is important now to a file and that you specify the index, which is so much better.

Excel 2007 supports 1 048 576 lines by 16 384 columns! This is really useful. But the current version of the TDM Excel Add-In does not support the limit of the new line. Is there a way we can get a version of this for 2007 that supports the new limits of the line? It would be cool if the add-in could automatically detect the version and to modify the limits of import accordingly but it is perhaps too much. Has anyone else experience these problems?

My client would like to file long record time at 200 Hz throughout the day. Lines of data per file is 720 000. Yes, that's a lot, but excel takes care of everything. The importer TDMS impossible. Of course there are workarounds and we will have to use one if a new version of the Add - in Excel TDM will not soon made. Y at - it a new version coming soon? Please say Yes.

Mystery solved. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the add-in, do the same thing on a computer to co-workers and to come with the same limited import I scratch my head a bit. It turns out that my network administrators put all suites MS Office in the entire company to operate in 'compatibility' default Mode, so they would save default 2003 versions. When Excel is running in compatibility mode and the user tries to import large tdms, the behavior I described occurs.

I really appreciate your help guys. This is the supplement at all.

  • Start TDM importer Excel automation index

I'm trying to create a macro in excel to import and format data from a .tdm file.

The files to import sometimes exceed the limit of 1 M in Excel line, when that happens, so I want to generate two workbooks. One of these binders to be generated from a starting index of 1 and the other must be generated from a beginning index of 1048576. Right now I use the silent mode to give a hint of departure of 1 and then again run the importer and enter 1048576 manually to the second workbook.

My question is: is it possible to set the index of departure via a macro?

I looked at using the sendkey command to generate the key sequence "tab tab 1048576 enter" required, but excel cannot interrupt the object call command to do this.

    Thank you very much

I did a fairly complex treatment with DIAdem.  Your request is not a big deal to do in tiara.

For maximum flexibility, you can take the references to the chain. As shown below in oChan01.  This will allow you to manage a channel such as a table. The limits of this approach is the speed, built-in functions are faster that approach and should be used as much as possible.   The chnfind command is an examle that is much faster to find a specific value in a channel.

OptionExplicit'Forces the declaration explicitly all variables in a script.

    Dim oChan01, i, GPB, dVal

define the GPB = data. Root.ChannelGroups ("EXAMPLE")

    Set oChan01 = oGrp.Channels ("Time")

    for i = 1 oChan01.Size

    dVal = oChan01 (2)

  • Excel automation

    Hello

I am trying to use the ActiveX Automation Excel server.  I got TestStand to run the excel application, however, when I try to create a new workbook, I get the following error:

'Create the new object' call automation failed.
    Class not registered
One of the possible reasons for this error is that the server can be a COM in-process 64-bit server. TestStand is a 32-bit process and Windows does not allow a mix of 32-bit code and 64-bit in the same process. TestStand can create objects from a COM server out-of-process 64-bit directly, but for 64-bit in-process COM servers, you must create the object in a 64-bit external process and pass in TestStand using an out-of-process server or a DLLSurrogate.

I have attached the file in sequence, I've been using.

    Hello mcooblal,

I took a quick glance to your movie file, and you're not properly access the workbook class. You must first get a reference to the workbooks property that returns a reference to the property of workbooks. Then, using the reference of workbooks, you can then get the workbooks class that has a method to add cabinets.

Here is an example of good sequence that refers to these steps:

  • Comparison of Excel automation BI

    Hi all

I am trying to record a BI functional script using openscript, in my case, I need to compare two excel sheet, IE. Excel QA with Prod. is it possible to solve this problem...?

    Thanks in advance

    Vaisakh.A

    Hi samir,.

    Use datatable in OpenScript concept.

What I understand, it's--you're trying to automate a scenario where an excel will be downloaded in your navigation of scenario. Same thing will happen for QA and PROD. You want to add code to compare downloaded excel.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Import excel to datatable and give the code for comparison.

  • TDMS importing Excel column limit = 254

The recommendation more he should try to post here in the forum of DIAdem.  One reason why the PDM Excel import is limited to 254 column?  I've attached a TDMS file below with 300 fake groups, each of them like 4 channels of dummy data.  The only way to view the TDMS file was like a VI (not a file PDM or ZIP), so if please download the 'VI' and change the extension in PDM and try to import in Excel to display the behavior.

When loading in Excel, only groups first 254 are shown as the message says:

    Hi LabBEAN,

R & D has corrected the TDM Excel Addin so that it now loads > 255 groups/worksheets in Excel.  Unfortunately, the new version will not publish on the website for about a month.  Could send me an email to [email protected], so I can coordinate displays the version update for you on our outgoing ftp site?

  • Problem with the Excel add-in-TDM

    Hi-

I used the ExcelTDM snap-in on other machines w / no problem, but I tried downloading it on a new computer (w / office 2003, Vista) & the icons do not appear in excel.

I tried to follow the instructions on this page: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5874

I am stuck at step #3 b/c the ExcelTDM.dll file isn't the case on the computer.  Is it possible that the add-in is not download correctly?  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the add-in twice now, with the same results.

Any halp would be appreciated!  Thank you!!!

    Erin

    Hi ErinH,

We want to confirm that you get the latest installer from the web download of the first http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/2944 .

Then, you will notice at the bottom of the download page there is a trick:

After installing the TDM Excel Add-In in Microsoft Vista , you need start Microsoft Excel at least once by using administrator privileges.

So if you use the Add-In in Vista, you can disable the UAC (User Account Control), or right-click on Excel.exe and "run as Administrator" for the first time.

    Good luck!

  • Excel has decimated groups

Hi I have a question that I really need to get fixed so I can get some reports. I called NOR and they are still trying to get back to me with a response as well. I hope someone here can have an answer. I'm using Labview SignalExpress 2011. Recently updated to 2010. In 2010, I could record the data and he would write in an excel file. In this excel file it would show groups decimated, a sample of each one second, then one other group which shows a sample every 50 seconds, then another group which shows a sample every 2500 seconds, and so on. It is perfect for creating graphics on 10 days of testing long that I do not need every second single for sample. Since I installed 2011, is no longer decimates the data for me. I get a single sheet with a tab that shows each sample excel. There is none made the decimation. I used the trial tiara to open one of the files and he showed groups of existing decimation; However when opened in excel, I do not get groups of decimation, I need.

The Rep NOR said the reason why it doesn't show groups of decimation is because when the graphical representation of data in labview, chosen 2010 any group of decimation was preferable to create the chart. In 2011, labview expects that the computer must be able to calculate all the samples. Which is fine but I'm not using labview to create graphics, nor do I want to spend over a grand on tiara to decimate my data. 2010 did, how can I do 2011? Thank you.

    Chris

I thought about it. The Excel Add - In 3.3 CT introduced in Labview 2011 deleted this feature; or a hard to find the setting. I just went down to 2010's TDM Excel Addin 3.2 and the problem was solved. I can now open excel and get all the decimated data.

  • Excel export

    Hello

is it possible, when I want to export average values in 100-CT chanel datas. Now, I can export only a data TDM Excel data. I just want these average values together in an Excel without sticking. Thank you for your help

    Hello Walter,

vielen Dank fur deine idea. ES gut works. ICH like dir ein schönes Wochenende.

  • a faster way for PDM-to-Excel conversion?

I connect my packets received using blocks PDM, since it is suggested that IO low is the fastest. Since I need data in formal Excel, after my experience, I run a small code that uses 'Reading file of measure' and 'Write in the file of the measure' blocks to convert TDMS to Excel.

This conversion takes too long, for example 15 minutes from port of 1 million bits of PDM for Excel (I connect packets in their binary form, of 1 and 0). I have attached the VI conversion.

    I have 2 questions:

    1. does anyone know any faster way for the conversion of PDM in Excel?

    2. I need the block 'Reading files measure' in my conversion code since the packets received are saved in TDMS in the form of a single vector, and I need to convert this very long vector in a matrix where each line corresponds to a received packet. Is it possible to make connecting TDMS in the form of a matrix, instead of one vector? This can be slow down my code much.

    Thank you!

    Hi filipfilip,

Have you considered using the TDM Excel add-in? You can then save the resulting Excel workbook and get the desired file format.

More information can be found here:

    http://www.NI.com/white-paper/4906/en/

There is a solution on this post on the forum too which can allow you to do this automatically. I don't know how much faster it would be than your current method but I think it would be interesting to give it a go.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Cannot open the PDM file with excel 2016

    Hey guys,.

I have Office 2016, LV 2015 and (I checked my "TDM Excel Add-in" file) the Excel Add-in 2015 of CT.

I have attached a picture of what I get when I try to open the PDM file with excel.

So, I found something strange. I checked active supplements under the excel options and the TDM Excel Add-in is listed as inactive (and is called a COM-add-in). I tried to activate it, by checking the box (see the second picture), but that does not change. Interesting is the last line of my second attached photo:

Translated it means: ' loading behavior: a runtime error occurred when trying to load this Add-In.

I have 10-64 bit operating system like windows.

Someone at - it a solution?

    Kind regards

    Slev1n
