TDMS direct OR-DAQmx logging integration

Hello

Is it possible to get the PDM file reference, when you use the 'TDMS Direct in NOR-DAQmx Logging integration' like this: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/9574/en/

I need to write it manally given in a tdms file while a task-DAQmx saves the data to this file.

To open a second reference file is not possible, because it has been blocked since the acquisition of data-task.

Best regards

Reinhard

Hey, Reinhard.

I think that it is not possible to get the reference to the TDMS file from the DAQmx logging functions.

You must either create a second file to store the sum of channels 4 voltage or you calculate the sum after registration.

Best regards, Stephan

  • DAQmx logging takes data only available for last second...

    Hello

I work on a VI to measure a voltage signal with an acquisition of data USB-6361 (sample rate 150kHz) and stores the data (see VI below). I had to use DAQmx functions due to data loss problems, and so the DAQmx logging feature is used to store the data.

I added a "calendar function" to set a length of time and measure specific departure. Since I don't have the program stores only the last second (150000 data points), although total samples acquired increase according to the duration of the measure, while the program is running.

I was watching my VI for some time now, but I can't understand why it is not store data correctly. Can someone give me an indication of what is problem with my VI?

There should be an expectation in your outer loop to slow down everything in check for the time.  Also, there may be a conflict in your cheques to timeout.  If the time-out reaches 0 when it verifies he could run the inner loop once and stop the outer loop, where your sample question once.

I would also say to change your configuration of the strings so that your set things only once instead of slow reading loop every time that you enable it.  You may not really need to start and stop your task each time.  This can be done at the beginning and end of your program.  Unless you plan to change the settings.

I assume you are using LV2012.  The seal must be LV2012.

  • DAQmx read - the values on the scale or not? Binary conversion.

    Hey everybody,

I had a question regarding making the scale and the release of Renault. I use LabVIEW 2009 SP1, with a pilot DAQmx 9.0.2 and a X-Series card. I'm reading the data my DAQ and store it in a binary file.

How is the acquisition of data read samples, in General? that is if I select NSamp NChan I16 2D Analog on my DAQmx Read, what kind of values can I expect if I was at the exit of the probe data? (Suppose I have readings in mV values and my overall fork's 04:55 V.) When he wrote in the binary file, what happens, what can I expect to see in terms of values - or maybe just descriptively?

Overall, a little insight would be very helpful. I tried to troubleshoot asymmetric readings I received, so this will help me immensely.

    Thank you.

    Hi Matt87,

Reading data as I16 will return the result adjusted, not calibrated for 16-bit ADC.

If you want to write your own binaries, you'll want to include scaling of device - for series X, coefficients a 3rd order polynomial.

Here are two examples that show how write to a binary file and read the data back.  In this example, scaling coefficients are stored in the file header:

Continuous gain and voltage drop (binary) chart

Graph of the acquired binary data

That said, I would recommend that you look in the record feature integrated TDMS introduced in DAQmx 9.0.  The result is a file appropriate binary .tdms which is a standard format that can be opened in LabVIEW or in several other programs with the plugin.  See the following examples for how to use the function:

Streaming data and log to the PDM file

Continuously to log in a PDM file data

The second example does not force you to read the data in the memory of LabVIEW and use the minimum CPU.  The first example allows you to see the data that is acquired.

  • TDMS open, FALSE to create an index file bug?

    Hello

I have the version of LabView 2013 Pro. I (would) like the new feature to choose to not create index file when you open a new TDMs file for data logging.

However, even if I wire a constant TAMPERING to the Terminal "create index file?", when my farm asks the PDM file after recording data, an index file is created.

I correctly write data and close the file in the end...

    Is this a bug?

You can try to reproduce it?

    Thank you!

    Hi man,

According to you the description that the index file is created when you stop recording of data. If your machine is running the DataFinder (it's a service installed by DIAdem), the DataFinder will start indexing the TDMS files when the TDMS file is closed. If LabVIEW does not create the index TDMS during the recording of data file, but the DataFinder indexing service creates him index file TDMS when process data recording stops.

So if you have the DataFinder running on your computer, please, try to turn off the service of indexation of DataFinder icon in the system tray.

You can only configure logging remotely. The Cisco Secure ACS Solution engine devices configured to use remote agent send the record directly on the logging of remote agent service, CSLogAgent data. CSLogAgent wrote logging hard disk data to the location specified by the configuration provider. The logs contain the columns specified by the configuration provider.

  • PCI-6251 - Acquisition on hard drive

    Hello

I bought a PCI to acquisition model Multifunction PCI-6251.

How much time Prime Minister of United Nations of in the know I'd like to connect a hard drive directly on this card, and what should be the characteristics of this hard drive in terms of size, speed of rotation and memory cache.

From there, what are the software configurations allowing the acquisition of half a score of analog channels directly on the hard drive? Can we start the recording of the tracks on hard drive from Labview? And how the get?

Finally I would like to know what kind of performance I could you reach in terms of number of "recordable samples and frequency acquisition

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi all

xdaf is correct that you will need a host PC to communicate with the 6251.  The 6251 can acquire analog inputs to 1 MHz multiplexes (for 10 channels that would be 100 kHz per channel), so you will probably not all the problems at these rates simply by using the DAQ Assistant as mentioned xdaf.  That said, I wanted to take some time to more carefully address the following question:

Q: "therefore, what are the software configuration used to acquire a dozen analog channels directly on the hard drive?"

A: DAQmx 9.0 introduced a very cool feature called DAQmx Logging that will allow you to easily optimize your streaming to disk.  You can read more about it in the link provided, but essentially this function allows you to write directly on your hard drive since the DMA buffer without going through the application memory.  Comparing the two methods:

Old method: FIFO edge > buffer DMA > LabVIEW memory > buffer DMA > hard drive

New method: FIFO edge > buffer DMA > hard drive

The new method will use minimum CPU since all transfers are implemented by DMA.  The result is a binary file of PDM (2 bytes per sample on a 16-bit card) which can be read with the viewer PDM or imported in LabVIEW for analysis.  The file header stores the calibration and scaling information.  If you need to integrate this file with other software, the following link contains more information: TDMS integrating third-party programs

You also have the option, if you want to import the data into LabVIEW to look at one/one immediate treatment.

I would probably also add that the benchmark of 1.2 GB, mentioned in the DAQmx logging Article would require a faster bus and configuration of the hard drive.  We used two 2 x 8164 matrices Raid in conjunction with a full chassis SMU cards simultaneously.  The 80 MB/s this mentioned xdaf is on par with some hard disks more quickly and is close to the practical limit of the speed of the PCI bus.  This is information probably just extra, since the data from your card PCI-6251 will be far from this limit.

Even if rates continuously to acquire from a single card PCI-6251 should not be too demanding, I suggest you look into the new DAQmx 9.0 streamline registration of your data, optimize code and functionality for fast disk with minimal use of CPU.  I hope this has been helpful!

    Best regards

    John

  • Runs a PDM file

I'm pretty impressed by the ease and effectiveness of logging TDMS especially with Daqmx Configure Logging.vi bypassing OS non-determinisme and storing it directly in the file defined in the hard drive.

I managed to store a large file DDHN logging more than 250 kech. / s.

Initially, I thought that I would have to data bases programming but TDMS technology seems to work ok. There is however a limitation that can probably be resolved and I might need to reconsider the databases.

The amount of data could charge us on a graphic record of 1000 px more 100KS/s. I designed a few custom cursors and they only work when the file is saved to 1KS/s for a period almost a 1 hr. At any higher sampling rate, my beloved sliders just go on!

Secondly, the only kind of "Standard option" that I could see with TDMS uses 'TDMS set the next Position' vi. As with databases, can we say TDMS to extract the say every 2200 to 2300 pm?

    Thanks in advance

    Waris K

PDM reading has an Offset and Count entered just to get the samples you want.  The hardest part is going to be determining what samples you need.  It will take just a little math, since you know the start time and the frequency of sampling.

I think you might be able to do a repair of first aid, after you have disassembled the drive first:

    1. Run OS X by an external device (ex: USB mode, or external hard drive or disk target from another Mac)
    2. Launch the Terminal and run the following command umount f /Volumes/ (ex: umount f/Volumes/Macintosh\ HD)
    3. Then run disk utility first aid.

I had this problem on a Macbook Air, I tried to recreate the image to work, so I didn't need to get anything off the drive. I tried to format the drive and reinstall OS X. So I don't know if first aid work after disassembly, but it worked without a doubt after that I did the first two steps above and then deleted from the disk. Not sure if this will help, but worth a try, I guess.

  • Reduce the size of a file created by "write to waveform.

    Hello

I'm using labview in 2012 and I have a problem with the size of the tdms file generated by the function "write to waveform. The data is real time 16 channels in a series of X NI USB-6343 and is composed by the gains of the voltage on the y-axis with the absolute time on the x axis (waveform format). The size of the file is reached a Go command within a few hours. Is it possible to reduce the size of this file? All configurations on the component?

    Thanks for the help.

    Best regards

    Marcelo Nobre

Yes indeed, there is a better way.  Instead of using writing on file express VI measure, try adding the DAQmx logging into your task DAQmx (before starting the task):

This method writes the raw binary data unadjusted to the file (2 bytes per sample because it is a 16-bit data acquisition card) with scaling of information in the header of the file.  In the example you posted, you write the data which are already put across to the file (double 8 bytes for example).  What will make this change you expect to reduce your file size by ~ 4 x.

If you wish you can compress the files once you have finished writing to them for further reduction of size, but there is no support to achieve so that you are currently writing in the PDM file.  In addition, you will need to unzip the file until you can access the data in the .tdms file.  You can probably get good results with something as simple as the data stored in a .zip file.

    Hello user8744020,

The fact that you can access the application from the list of tasks means that there is a problem with the IOM contacting SOA.

It's actually the SOA ForeignJNDIProvider detail which used to activate the feature list of tasks within the IOM UI.  So check ForeignJNDIProvider-SOA (in the WLS Console, slot-> Services-> foreign JNDI providers) and make sure that the values of weblogic user and password are correct.  In addition, the URL of the provider must be the location of t3 (s) of soa servers managed - this value will match the RmiURL mentioned by Dmitry.

If there has been changes in the environment recently (IE... Configuration of SSL, admin password, adding LBR, etc.), you will need to use the instructions in AdminGuide to ensure that everything will work together as a result of these changes.

    Hope that helps,

    Amy

  • How to make the Apache configuration for two different areas

    Hello

I was trying just a few clustering on weblogic workshop. I was facing a problem... Here's the scenario:

    I have two clusters:

    CLUSTER1: 3 managed servers (server1, server2, serveur3)
    Cluster2: 2managed servers (server4, Server5)

I have two examples of applications I have made on these two clusters i.e on cluster1 app1 and app2 on cluster2.

These two applications are deployed all as I am able to open these browser applications by calling the individual run as server port: http://localhost:7003 / app1.

Now, I have installed an apache server on my laptop and configured the http.conf file.

Question: I am not able to call the application of apache. If there is only a single cluster then it works very well and for an application two that a single cluster (application) only works too which port is set in the last.

Here are the contents of my httpd.conf file:

    #
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
configuration directives # that give the server its instructions.
    # See < URL: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2 > for more information.
    # See especially
    # < URL: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html >
    # for an analysis of each configuration directive.
    #
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions here without understanding
    # what they do. They are there only as advice or reminders. If you do not know
    # consult the online documentation. You have been warned.
    #
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the file names that you specify for a lot
number of files in server control begin by "/" (or "drive: / 'for Win32 '), the
    # server uses this explicit path. If the file names do not start
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot directive is preceded by - so "logs/foo.log.
    # with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2. 2' will be interpreted by the
    # Server as "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/foo.log".
    #
    # NOTE: Where file names are specified, you must use forward slashes
    # instead of backslashes (e.g. "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
    # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which httpd.exe is located
    # will be used by default. It is recommended that you always provide
    # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths to avoid confusion.

    #
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory under which the server tree
    # configuration, error and the log files are kept.
    #
    # Do not add a bar slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot to non-local disk, remember to point the LockFile directive
    # to a local disk. If you want to share the same multiple ServerRoot
demons of # httpd, you will need to change at least the LockFile and PidFile.
    #
    ServerRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2. 2. "

    #
    # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
ports #, instead of the default value. See also the < VirtualHost >

  • FireFox--CreateProfile works not when you target a path of Firefox different Windows user profile commands

    Hi guys,.

I am using the FireFox--CreateProfile to create a new profile to a different windows account (for example connect as administrator while trying to create a new windows profile account 'demo') of the order. This will in fact fail because all files are created (lack profile.ini and etc...). However, when I tried to create a new profile directly under the logged in windows account (e.g. login you as demo while trying to create a new profile for the demo), the command works successfully.

I can confirm that this is due to the limitation of the command that Firefox is unable to create a new profile under a different windows account?

Yes - each logon user account gets its own file profiles.ini and - CreateProfile only works for the current logon user account.

  • where is iWeb files store in OSX El Captain v. 10.11.2?

where is iWeb files store in OSX El Captain v. 10.11.2?

Can not find any directory under the "Library - Application Support" iWeb as suggested a few comments on the internet.

Furthermore, can someone advise how to download the web site created by iWeb to internet, I tried "upload" function of iWeb and he just direct me to log on to the iCloud account.

    Thank you very much

If you use a Mac with El Capitan, then there will not be any store for iWeb, because new Mac which not been shipped with iWeb for a long time.

However, if you happened to load iWeb on your Mac from a disc, and then iWeb stores files of domain.sites under your user/Library/Application Support.  / Library/Application Support is the library system and you won't find anything here .

To access your library from the user, you must click on the menu go upstairs and then press the 'alt key ' to your user library, but you may create, as the Mac ship automatically with iWeb, as has been the software not supported for the last 4 years or so now.

To publish a site on the web, you need to get an account among many hosters autour - GoDaddy web hosting etc.  If you don't have a hosting account, that means first to register a domain name of your choice and then to buy the hosting for this, you will not be able to publish.  iCloud offers no accommodation, only a storage.

Go to GoDaddy and register and domain name and purchase hosting and then download your site.

Maybe you should consider new software also, like iWeb is old and not taken care of, then take a look at EverWeb instead.
