  Go to: Control Panel, programs by default, associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.

  Scroll down to:...

  .contact... Click here to highlight, click on change program, click Windows Contacts.

  Make sure that there is the box... Always use the selected program to open this type of file.

  (Protocols)

  The error you are getting is nothing to do with the server being unavailable. The version of Creative Suite you have designed for the Mac with a PowerPC processor. Your new Mac has an Intel processor and can not run your old software. There is nothing you can do about it.

  You should try to run real strong. Press the Win + X key, then choose stop down in the charming bar.

  Looks like both programs have been downlaoded on Mac: Please click on go > Applications and see if applications are displayed up there?

  Windows: Click on start > all programs and see if applications are listed.

  If applications do not appear then please try the steps listed in http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html and which will solve the problem.

  What software version you have installed on Mavericks?

  If the internet and the firewall is not blocking then this could be files becase cloud creatives, please try the steps here described in http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/unknown-server-error-launchin g - cc.html and see if it works.
