  A text frame cannot have more than one item in his collection of texts.

  Form of JavaScript:

  Given a text frame "myTextFrame"...

  var myText = myTextFrame.texts.item (0);

  .. .myText will always be all text in the frame.

• CS5 - upgrade CS5.5 - changes to the Composition of the paragraph?

  Hello

  When I upgraded a while ago of CS2 to CS5, many files I had finished and sent to the printing press has been largely modified when opened in CS5 (orphans and widows were created, generally, the spacing between words in the paragraphs that has changed). Can someone let me know how 'safe' is opening a CS5 file in CS5.5? I expect to have to make very minor changes to a number of files and don't want to have to deal all over again from scratch because of the upgrade.

  There are huge differences in the text between CS2 and CS5 engines CS5.5 uses the same engine as the CS5, so you should be fine. If you're worried, CS5 export at .idml and open in CS5.5. Which will force all reflux to occur when you open the file rather than waiting until you click in a story.

  Please keep in mind that the only way to turn the clock back CS5.5 for CS5 is to export to .idml. The .indd file is not backward compatible.

• Text is suddenly small in CS2

  All of a sudden, my text is incredibly low. The resolution is set to 300. The box "Resample image" is unchecked. I tried to reset the character... the text is even smaller than it should be. For example, 8 point Times New Roman are barely perceptible to the naked eye. I did something different. What gives?

  Two things you can try:

  1. with the type tool selected, click with the right button on the big T in the options toolbar and choose Reset tool.

  2. If is not try to reset the preferences of cs2 by pressing Shift + Ctrl + Alt keys right after the double click to launch photoshop.

  Keep the possession of the keys down until you get a dialog box asking if you want to remove the photoshop settings file, click Yes.

  According to the used slides, you might be able to save the PSD to PDF format, and then open it in illustrator. If you're lucky, you'll have a rough, but the document editable.

  However this is not really the best thing for your problem...

• CS2 erase content and the text box

  I use CS2 on Windows. I have a file of 30 pages with the linked text boxes on each page with anchored objects. I would remove the first 10 pages, but NOT the text of these areas of 10 text wrap on the remaining pages. Is there a way to delete the text boxes AND their content before deleting these pages, that I don't have to highlight all of the text on them, remove it, then delete the text boxes themselves?

  Ah ha! You need a script! I use CS2 and I only found on the scripts - you can find them on the CD-ROM or get you it from here (scroll to CS2.) Put them in the folder scripts in your presets folder, open the palette scripts (on Windows) and here they are. There are two useful in your goal - we split the history in separate text boxes, one pops up a text box in the story. Just select your text box and double-click the script.

  (Of course, once you cut your text out of the herd area you can remove it).

• CS2 > CS4 text color problems

  I recently imported some files CS2 in CS4 and also a few quarters of text, all seems good, but when that we send it to print, some of the text prints black. I went through the file by ensuring that there was no transparency, without spot color settings/effects, etc., but it (and it's related files to always print with the same problem.

  It exports to PDF very well and allows to print from there, but no InDesign itself. I even exported to .inx and back, with no changes.

  Any ideas?

  (attached is one of the pages in question.) It affects only the text on blue. Both were swatchs converted to CMYK, Pantone so I recreated the CMYK shade from scratch, but there was no change to the impression that results. "And change it to any other non-white color prints in black).

  The next question is obvious: is any impression of colored text? If this is not the case, check for a setting in the print dialog box and the print driver, for "Black text".

• Text of the curve around a picture ID CS2

  I tried to follow a Youtube video on how to do it, but it is not just to give a sense to me - I can't seem to find the right tool to do it.

  I inserted the image by using the Oval Marquee tool to make a text box, then "placed" the image. I would like to now the text to its left flowing around him.

  If your placed image is still an oval, I think that just click on the right icon "wrap" in the Panel text wrapping - the one with 'text' lines goes around the image.

• In CS2 program error: "could not use the text because of a program error."

  Yesterday when using the text tool, I kept getting the message "Could not use the text tool because of a program error". Today I still get this message and the same message when I try to change the size of the image. There is no information on what the program error is - all advice?

  This can be caused by a corrupt police.

  If you are on a Mac, FontBook open, select all (Cmd + A) fonts, file > validate font. Check fonts corrupted / invalid according to the results. Delete all corrupt fonts. Try using the text tool now.

• boxes of text/image disappears when printing to PDF [CS2, Win]

  Strange things are happening today: text boxes and images, perfectly visible in InDesign boxes - disappear completely when printing to PDF.

  The first time I printed, everything went well. Then after I moved some stuff and reprinted, things have disappeared.

  Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  Export instead. Does it work?
