Text on the stroke to the text block

I was wondering if there is no way to force the text in a text block to be at the top of the race that I added to the text box. The descenders are cut and I have messed around with various options of baseline for the text block, but can't seem to find a way to make it work without making the largest text block which I prefer not to do.

I saw a few solutions, but they all seem to be for earlier versions by using the settings that I can't find in the CC options.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

    Is it possible to define a text frame on a master page and be able to enter text in the image in the document itself, without separate the text block and his master?

    This is for CS4.

    Thank you.

    It depends on the nature of your question. You must override the image on the document page (Shift click command) to add content, but anything that does not change on the page of the document is still linked to the main frame (such as size, position, fill, stroke, etc.). Is that what you mean?

    If you select a textframe, you already have a textframe. So, if you choose app.selection [0] .textFrames [0], this means an anchored within a textframe textframe.

    And: You try to create your textframe on page 1. But you must add the new textframe on the page following the page of your choice.

    So, try this one:

    var curDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var frame1 = app.selection[0];
    var parPage = frame1.parentPage.documentOffset;
    var frame2 = curDoc.pages[parPage+1].textFrames.add({geometricBounds: [50, 50, 100,100]});
    frame2.previousTextFrame = frame1;

  • Tutorial of the postcard - can't get the new text block started

    It is a very basic question. I do the tutorial of postcard. I'm unable to get a second text block began on the front of the postcard to the time of the event. I take the text tool and drag it, but it does not create a new text frame. He thinks I want to type the information in the context of existing text.

    I hit escape repeatedly to try and out the first block of text, clicking on the tool text several times, tried shift and click, put the date in a Microsoft Word's doc information and then tried to 'Place' - all to nothing done. How can I get the file to understand that I am creating a second block of text?  How to get out the original text block?

    This seems to be a problem for me, I can't "uncheck" any tool path - by clicking on another tool or hit escape. It does not work. I close the file, then open it new in order to use a new tool. Very frustrating and time-consuming. I work under Windows, if that helps.

    Thank you.

    Try to zoom a little and start your slide text tool starting off the page on the region of cardboard. Using the black selection tool, you can drag to the page and resize it using the bounding box handles.

  • How to bind the text blocks between pages?

    Hello

    I searched all autour for this, and I'm guessing that the answer could be so simple that no tutorial it doesn't even mention:

    How can I link the blocks of text between pages? I made a block of text in each master page and then connected one left with the one on the right. Indeed, all of the text in the document is linked from the page on the left of the right-hand page. But how do I link the page on the right with the following two pages 'below' in the document?

    If I'm not clear, here is another attempt to explain: I'm going to insert a lot of text in a document, and I already know the size and the type of text block, I want the text inserted. When I put the text in the left side, it connects (goes on) the block of text on the right side. But it stops there. So I have to manaully through both pages, which connects the right page "at the top" with the left 'below', page by clicking on the image by clicking on the small arrow in the lower right corner, and clicking on the next page below. There must be a way to organize it in master pages or in some other way?

    Thanks in advance for helping me with this problem of small size, but huge!

    Best

    Kim

    Two things...

    For "automatic formatting" to work with Captain linked frames page, you must NOT release the Master frame before placing the text, and you must click inside the image area, not any sort of guide.

  • Muse: Text blocks the lower graphic States

    I created buttons with rollover States: Normal with a 30% opacity. Rollover, Mousedown and Active: shadow 100% more drop. It is related to the landing page. So far so good.

    I want the text for each button to be 100% opacity all the time (he has a shadow too) so it is easy to read (not spent 30%), so it is in a separate text block, also linked to the landing page.

    button1.jpg

    In preview mode, when I rollover, mousedown, etc. the button background works as it should (go from 30% to 100%).

    button2.jpg

    Until he hits the block of text. He text block "shields" (for lack of better term) the State and the button returns to its Normal state:

    button3.jpg

    I tried to solve this with layers without result. So... my question is the following:

    How can I get the text above the button in a constant state of 100% and do not have the text block are interfering with the States below.

    Of course, I forgot something. What Miss me?

    Thanks in advance.

    The easiest way to do this is to use the "status button" comes with Muse widget.

  • C# / JavaScript how to set the primary text block?

    Hello

    I'm working with InDesign scripting API with c# for my work. I'm new to both the InDesign scripting API and using InDesign as well.

    I am building a gap of master, with blocks of text so that the text block on the left page of the cheese would pass in the block of text on the right page.

    I read there is the option block of primary text for the master spread, but I can't seem to understand how to use it.

    Is there someone who could show me an example of script code to define the framework of primary text for a master page/spread?

    Here is the code I have for now.

    The question I have is in line 53, where when I try to run it, it gives me a very generic error 'Invalid object for this request.', which leads me to believe I'm doing it wrong.

    I noticed the JavaScript API that is very similar to c#, so it would be useful if I get a response from JavaScript.

    Hi Michael,

    Basically, you can do something like this (in ExtendScript):

    //Store value:
    var storedPreset = app.documentPresets[0].createPrimaryTextFrame;

    //Let's set it to true:
    app.documentPresets[0].createPrimaryTextFrame = true;

    //Add the document, name the master as you wish etc.pp. :
    app.documents.add
    (

        {
            documentPrefreneces :
                {
                    facingPages : true
                    ,
                    pageWidth : "210 mm"
                    ,
                    pageHeight : "297 mm"

                }
        }

    );
    //Reset to stored value:
    app.documentPresets[0].createPrimaryTextFrame = storedPreset;

  • Problem with the text block, put in place when it is used on the page number marker

    Hello!

    I would use the text block on the marker page number on the master page in Indesign. The text block should change width when increases the page number. It does not work. What happens is that when the number of page moves a two-digit figure, the numbers tightened itself (compressed on top of each other) and the block of text changes size unless I drag on it (which means I have to manually unlock the master page first).

    I'm doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

    Thank you!

    Altogether! So, you can use a rule of Pará to simply do it!

  • How to get the text block, given anchor (~ a)

    I need to dynamically position anchored with anchor text blocks (but the relative position will be different for each anchor). If I grep ~ i can get the anchor marker - how to get the text block once I got this marker?

    Thank you

    The marker "anchor" is a character of "simple".

    So you can do the following if you have identified the character (and in this example selected it):

    //Start with an "Anchor Marker" selected:
    var myCharacter = app.selection[0];

    if (myCharacter.texts[0].textFrames.length == 1){

    var myAnchoredTextFrame = myCharacter.texts[0].textFrames[0];
        //do something with the anchored text frame:
        myAnchoredTextFrame.fillColor = "Yellow";

        };

    You can set the myCharacter variable differently, if you know the index of the character according to his history of parent.

    Or if you have found the character as part of a search GREP or TEXT by ExtendScript (JavaScript).
