that means the value '*.local_listener '?

Hello

I have a few databases of production (all 10 gr 2 [10.2.0.5] ad hoc with no expectations) and two from then to contain this in the settings:

  • * .local_listener = '(description = (address = (protocol = ipc) (key = register)))'

Please could someone explain what means this parameter value?

And a server 10 g ASM [10.2.0.5] 2. In the settings of the ASM, I found this:

  • * .local_listener = "LISTENER_ + ASM"

Like many, I know, ASM does not headphone. If that is correct, what is the purpose of this?

Best regards

LOCAL_LISTENER indicates, how to find a listener with which register the instance.  Just like saying any client program (like sqlplus) how to find a listener to ask a database connection.  You can hard code connection info, or specify a network service name to be resolved via tnsnames.ora

As the doc

LOCAL_LISTENERSpecifies a network name that resolves to an address or a list of addresses of Oracle Net local listeners (i.e. listeners who are running on the same computer as this instance). The address or the address list is specified in the TNSNAMES.ORA file or another trustee address configured for your system.

I guess that the weakness, there is that like many 'reference manual' documentation, it tells what something does, but no explanation of why you might want to do.

See: http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/07/30/exploring-the-local_listener-parameter/ (exploring the local_listener parameter) for more explanations.

  • Do stuff to PL/SQl that returns the value and redirect to modal page by setting this value

    Hello

    a button click Page1 I would perform a PL/SQL procedure that returns a value in P1_ITEMVAL and then redirect to a page 2 (modal page) and the value of an item on this page with the value previously returned. To do the same thing with a normal page is quite easy:

    Button action is present, then process of PL/SQL that returns the value in the P1_ITEMVAL element and, finally, a branch at page 2 that sets P2_ITEMVAL with P1_ITEMVAL. I really have no idea how to do the same thing when the target is a modal page.

    If you prepare a URL using the value calculated in the PLSQL of DA part you can then use a subsequent stage of javascript to set the location of the window.

    This will jump to the top of the page of the modal dialog box

    : P1_URL: = apex_util.prepare_url)

    ' f ? p ='|| : APP_ID - Application id

    |': 2' - Page id

    ||': ' || : APP_SESSION - Session id

    ||':'                      -- Request

    ||':NO'                    -- Debug

    : ': ' - Clear Cache

    : ': ' - Settings

    ||' P2_ITEMVAL'

    : ': ' - Parameter values

    || (: P1_ITEMVAL);

    then in the action of javascript

    Window.Location.Replace ($v ('P1_URL'));

    That means the AHCI Mode, Mode RAID & SATA IDE Mode in the BIOS settings means

    My computer is having problems when I bought all first it was from another provider which came as a set overclocked PC up the unit everything needed had to be put in my case & add existing hard drives & DVD etc. readers added on the implementation. I used the same location for more than 10 years before that I always built them myself I can build a good setup computer I correspond to different parts inside each other, and then he tested & sent.
    Unfortunately, the store has closed & the owner is sick cannot get their hands on him more & I had to get some add on things like new SSDS & some other bits in my system & the young boy said he would could do this job, but everything went wrong & I lost all new so I decided to recycle me like I used to do it before windows 7-64 came out I was going through a rough patch with me being paraplegic in any case it is difficult to build a new PC, so I chose this store & their confidence that went wrong now & I've been research & learn to catch up with the new technology, I do what I do anyway.
    Thing is my system is never one that you can purchase a manufacturer & I left it with the young boy & it came out all memory & was not necessary but of course upset of that ruined the setting completely overclocked so I did it myself & I got the work faster than ever, & quieter PC I just got the score that he had now , so I'm happy with it, but the names I came across while overclocking I came across that I'm not average or really lot as were dealing with Fast CrossfireX DDR RAM 1600 MHz.
    Please don't tell me that I should not be messing around with what I made since 1989 & made great strides in how everything works, I am not aware about this sort of thing I know SATA what it is & done, but those responsible for setting came from the part of overclocking in the BIOS I put then correctly , but I wanted to know what they represent in more depth. Thanks to anyone who can put me wise on these 3 points only. Malcolm.

    I'm pretty sure that you are on the wrong "forum" for this type of topic. This forum is designed as a support Pro-type Surface ultrabook/tablets and tablet-like Surface.

    That said,

    AHCI - Advanced Host Controller Interface - this is a hardware mechanism that allows the software to communicate with the devices Serial ATA (SATA). It offers features such as connecting hot and native command queuing (NCQ).

    IDE - Integrated Drive Electronics - IDE is basically the 'old' version of AHCI without connection to hot and NCQ. (It is usually used during the era the Parallel ATA (PATA) hard drives)

    Now. Mode AHCI and IDE mode - what is - this? IDE mode is to give you the greatest compatibility with older operating systems. AHCI is as I mentioned above, a modern version of the IDE - use the AHCI mode if you are running recent operating systems (Windows Vista + and Linux kernel 2.6.19+).) IDE mode will allow you to connect older operating systems with SATA drives.

    As I mentioned above, SATA is Serial ATA and the replacement of hard drives Parallel ATA (PATA).

    RAID - this is a storage technology where combine you multiple disks in a unit of 'single', depending on the mode, there may be RAID-0 and RAID-6 and each with different hard drive configurations. I will explain the simple examples: RAID-0 , which is the distribution but no parity or mirroring, this means that there is no data redundancy, if there is a failure on a disc, it will cause the loss of data on the entire RAID array. Ex: You 0110 as writing the data, 01 goes on disk 1 and 10 goes on disc 2, allowing a faster data read/write access.

    RAID-1- This is the opposite of RAID-0, which is mirrored without interlacing (no parity or the other). Basically, this means that you have an exact clone of disk 1 disk 2 disk 1 failure.

    RAID0 + 1 is that both RAID 1 and 0 is, IE interlacing (write data simultaneously to two [or more]. disks more mirroring failure) the minimum amount of disks required for this type of installation is 4 IDENTICAL drives.

    There is also RAID 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. That is just more implemented different configurations of distribution/parity/mirroring on disks.

    That being said, your RAID mode will allow you for some type of RAID configuration, if you choose to do so.

    Supplement: Many SATA controllers can enable AHCI separately or in combination with RAID support. Recommend Intel choose RAID mode on their motherboards, allowing also the AHCI, rather than AHCI/SATA mode for maximum flexibility (in the case that you ever want to build a RAID array), because there are a few problems that occurs, usually BSOD, when you choose a different mode once an operating system is already installed.

    I've created a form that uses the value field text to fill the text of another field.  However, if I need to change the text, the second field does not update this change.  Instead of reset the form each time, is the Javascript code to update the fields if they have been modified?

    For example I Text1 and Text2.

    When I type in Hello in Text1 I see Hello in Text2.

    Later, if I decide to change to Goodbye Text1, Text2 remains Hello.

    The shape of the hoe can recognize this change?

    Edit: I think I have misunderstood the situation.

    If you want to both fields have the same value, just to give them the same name.

  • That means the (3) in a network connection

    I noticed that sometimes I'll see a Mac connected on a network from parenthesis after its name, as in Bob's Mac (3).

    What does the (3)?

    This can be a cause or an index of network problems?

    If so, what would be the cause or the index.

    Thank you

    M.

    Typically, this means that there is the third incarnation of the "Bob Mac' your system has seen.

    The sidebar is filled with servers that are available on the local network. Over time the BONE songs which sound servers view, but if she sees a machine with the same name as another device but, for some reason, it don't think it's the same device, it adds an integer name of the server.

    Typically, this would indicate that there are three machines on the network called "Bob Mac", but it could also be a flaw in the heuristics that make the OS think that is not the same "by Bob Mac" has been seen previously (either because of a bug, perhaps a system upgrade, etc.).

  • That means the 14-bit resolution

    Hello

    The '14-bit resolution' refers to the data entry for the PXI-5412 (via niFgen_CreateWaveformFromFileI16 or niFgen_CreateWaveformFromFileF64), the output of the PXI-5412 through channel 0, or both?  To clarify a bit, I know that niFgen_CreateWaveformFromFileI16 reads a 16-bit data source values, but the values contained in these 16 bits must be within a range of 14-bit?

    Some background information...  I use a system that contains a PXI-5412.  I am executing the example C code and change it to some arbitrary waveforms.  I have a Spectrum Analyzer, connected to the output of the PXI-5412 and tries to understand the results.  I use a data file that contains a chirp waveform.

    Generate data of chirp via Matlab.  I can save try it in different formats, but began to record off the coast under 16-bit.  In my application, I load the data using niFgen_CreateWaveformFromFileI16 and start the generation.  The output is fed to a Spectrum Analyzer, but the result doesn't look like a sizzle.  However, if I record the same data on as a double and use the SAME code (do NOT change the niFgen_CreateWaveformFromFileI16 function), I see a Twitter.  This result leads me to my question.

  • Date arithmetic gives error in dynamic Action that makes the value value

    Hello

    I am trying to create a dynamic action that automatically assigns the value of P8_ENDTIME to P8_STARTTIME + 30 minutes. Both are date variables.

    So far, my settings

    Dynamic action:

    Event: change

    Selection type: elements

    Items: P8_STARTTIME

    Scope of the event: static

    Real Action:

    Action: Set

    Set type: PL/SQL Expression

    PL/SQL expression: P8_STARTTIME + 1/48

    Page items to submit: P8_STARTTIME

    Affected elements Type: elements

    Assigned items: P8_ENDTIME

    Note: I read online by adding 1 to a date increments of one day. And the addition of 1/24 Add 1 hour. 1/48 will add a half an hour.

    These settings compile but when I change the STARTTIME field for a new date on my page it says:

    AJAX call back Server error ORA-06502: PL/SQL: digital or value error: character number conversion error to set the value.

    I have to mention if I did my right PL/SQL expression: P8_STARTTIME then no error is thrown. : P8_ENDTIME be successfully will set the value of: P8_STARTTIME

    Your help is very appreciated.

    Item is string. not of type datetime. You must first fills in /date datetime type and then add 30 min. After that, maybe you must convert to a string.

    To use a value of element in SQL or PL/SQL of APEX block, use a reference variable to bind that precede the name of the element of the colon ("": "):

    select
        ("Data_PSDM_Fcst"."Month1_Act" + "Data_PSDM_Fcst"."Month2_Act" +"Data_PSDM_Fcst"."Month3_Act") as "QT4"

    Where ID = :P5_ID

    I also highly recommend that you stop what you are doing now, remove all database objects that were created with identifiers respecting case-sensitive and re-create them according to standard practical Oracle so that they are case-sensitive. By the database SQL language reference:

    Note:

    Oracle does not recommend the use of identifiers in quotes for the names of database objects. These city identifiers are accepted by SQL * Plus, but they may not be valid when using other tools that manage database objects.

    Names of objects sensitive to case and between quotes identifiers will only cause confusion and error.

    Can someone tell me how to write a script to create a variable named DocDate, which contains the value of the variable of system (Long) Date of change? Or write a script that creates a variable named DocDate, which contains the current date? I can't find a lot of documentation on scripting ExtendScript.

    Hi Julee, when you create a user variable in the interface, you cannot include the building blocks of time in the definition. They can only be used in system like the System Date of Modification (Long) variable variables. So the question is, why not just use the variable Date of change (Long) system in your document? What is the purpose of the variable user DocDate? Let me know what you think here, and I can try to help you.
