  I have an apex on a ubuntu installation in a virtualbox. Everything works fine until im in the virtual box, but when I try to access another computer on the local network, it can't.
  
  I also installed the server web apache on the virtualbox, and that works very well.
  
  My apex intallation runs on port 8080 and apache on port 80.

  I have Virtual Center 2.5 update 4 and Manager Update on two separate servers.

  I had to rename and change the IP of the Server Manager to update, and now the Server Update Manager does not work.

  Here are two mistakes that I get, when you try to activate the plugin Update Manager:

  "The server took too long to respond" or "VMWare Update manager cannot accept applications because VirtualCenter.

  Server is not reachable, or it's the database is not reachable

  That's what I did to change the host name:

  sometimes "the server has taken too much time to react" and a few other times "the VMWare Update manager cannot accept applications because VirtualCenter.

  I think that there are a few other references to the host name of the Update Manager, which I have not changed, on the vCenter server or Manager Update server...

  I would try just reinstalling the update on existing installation manager.  Do not overwrite the database in the process so that you shouldn't really lose anything.  Not the plugin, but since the Update Manager vCenter installation media.

  Give that a try and let us know how it goes.

• View not appearing replica server is not in the administration console

  Are having the same problem as this post: replica server connection view do not appear in the Console administrator view.

  Since the replica server, I can see the main login server but can not see all the objects like computers or users.   From the main login server, the replica server does not appear in the dashboard.  I tried to restart both servers to connect and perform the post repadmin commands, I found before.

  Any ideas how to troubleshoot or resolve?

  I ended up removing the replica software and put it back;  also run repadmin.exe/showrpl and it works.  Reference is also made to this site and got some good tips troubleshooting.

  I installed a laboratory environment to view with 2 connection view CS1 and CS2 (replica) servers. I use VMware-viewconnectionserver-x86_64 - 5.1.2 - 928164 for v5.1.2 installation.

  After installation and reboot of the servers, I don't see that CS2 listed under the connection servers, only CS1 appears in the list. However, when I connect to the console administrator display on CS2 replica server, I see the two servers in the list.
  On verification of registry settings on the servers, I find the correct entries under HKEY_LM\Software\VMware, Inc. \VMware VDM\ServerInstanceType 1 on CS1 = and = 2 on CS2. I chose to set Windows Firewall rules to be updated automatically during the installation. Both servers are on the same VLAN.

  I am able to connect to the virtual desktop when connecting using the client independently discovers a connection server, but after doing some additional testing, I found that pairing does not work properly. I've disabled its own console CS1 and updated servers on CS2 and CS1 watch still active console after several updates. I have also tested CS2 console, I disabled CS1 but it does not reflect this change on the console of the server CS1.

  If the restore CD you have to sp1, you need not sp1a or sp2.  You can go directly to sp3.  SP1a is the same as sp1, but the removal of the "Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM from MS).  Microsoft released XP sp1a as part of a settlement with Sun Microsystems patent infringement (then owner of Java).
