  • Canon Pixma Pro - 100 prints very dark

I see that it is a recuring with the Canon Pixma Pro-100 problem, but nothing, I found an online help I ask and hope someone can solve this problem for me.

Just picked up a Pixma Pro-100 today and installed on my iMac 27 "(Yosemite) 2011 with the latest drivers downloaded from Canon to be sure to have the website." I also checked the printer firmware but it's later to 1,100. Weather, I'm printing through Lightroom or Photoshop; by Canon Print Studio Pro, my garden image, or by LR / PS directly; with - or without PS as a manager of color; the prints is proving to be much to dark.

I have to set an exposure of 2/3 in LR to be anywhere nearby to get the same result as on the screen. I am also careful to select the right ICC for correct paper profiles. My monitor is calibrated with a Spyder4pro and I also re-calibrated her during this process to see if that helped.

Well. Long story short; the prints are dark. So I borrowed 2013 Spyder4pro MacBook Pro (Yosemite my wife) and installed the latest drivers from Canon. Once again; on this machine, the impressions are also to dark with about + 2/3 in order to correct the impression of something that looks like the monitor. The two screens can also be programmed to 30% brightness.

I also have access to an Epson Stylus Photo R3000 and the prints of that much brighter spell.

Unfortunately, I see that many others also have the same problem. Then; Here's the question. How can I fix it? Do I have to return the printer and get a refund? Because it's clearly not good enough.

Thank you very much for your answers. But unfortunately, I have "been there, done that" on all of your advice.

I go back on Monday to the printer and replace it with an equal Epson printer as I have only good experiences with this brand and the prints I get without using overtime to tinker with settings.

It was my first (and last) Canon printer.

  • PIXMA Pro-100, very dark print

    Hi all

I just bought my Pro-100 and installed yesterday evening. I upgraded to an HP that was strictly CMYK (only 4 ink). I installed according to the instructions, but my impressions seem to come out substantially darker than they should be. Lime green print darker green. The bright blue print a darker blue. The bright red print a very dark red. Roses are dark pink print. The tones are much, much darker than they should be.

I print Adobe programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, and Pro - CS6 all). Am I missing a setting somewhere? On my previous printer, I would choose "primary preserve CMYK" and it printed perfectly. Now, I can't seem to get my impressions a normal colour. I'm not attempt "to match my monitor", just trying to get the colors closer to their true colors. I have CMYK primaries preserve not controlled and checked that the printer determine colors, but none of these options seem to be able to help.

I called Canon support, but they were unable to help me. He had put me my settings all default return and test printing. When this does not work, he said "good printers vary by brand so theres really nothing we can do about it." I can't imagine that this big of a printer prints it off on the colours.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

"... There's nothing we can do about it." »

Well, of course it is not true.  I have three of these printers in this line.  The 9000, 9500 II amd Pro-100.

They are all printed differently, but after a bit of tinkering with settings, they all did very well.  They are great printers.

First of all you do not leave the printer defined anything.  Cut each little out of control there.  You can do it with the Canon My Printer the printer settings tab.  Do you know how?  I think, Yes, for the moment, but if you don't come back to me.

Secondly, you must have PS manage all settings and corresponding color.  You know how to do this?

And finally, it is essential that you get some settings on your monitor which corresponds somewhat to the prints.  Your printer can do exactly what you say to do, and not sure that it is.  Because your monitor is turned off.  If you don't do this step, you can forget the other steps.  However, there are only a few things that must be addressed.  You don't need for any fancy additional modules to do this.

But you must get very narrow gray-scale.  You must get very close brightness and you must close contrast.

Once you do these things, you can make adjustments to your impressions by looking at just your screen.  Because you know that the monitor and printer are on the same level.  Another point, you cannot get a printer to print all colors exactly as you saw.  It is not possible because all the colors and adjustment in effect all the others.  My goal is to get the right tones.  That's what people notice.

For example, I know that my most recent Pro - 100 tends to print darker than what I see on the screen.  So I automatically know to set it's prints a stop brighter in PS.  It also prints with a warn a little tone.  Most of the time, with in particular, protraits cela if OK, but sometimes it is not.  In this case I set the 'temp' slightly cooler setting in PS.

Make sure that you have the correct ICC profile and that you use brand ink Canon and paper until you get well with the printer.  Very, very important!

  • Their impression of Lightroom 4 for Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MK II

I tried to print from Lightroom to a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MK II 4.   Every time I try to print via try it before (to the canvas), I get an error message (code 1281) and I can't print.   I tried a few different papers as canvas and give them the same error code.

I also tried printing from Elements 9 with the same problem.

I can print via try it before using the own Canon, Easy Print Pro software, but I can't soft proof of the image first, and can't do the correct image size or the other.

Anyone have an idea how I can get around this problem?

  • Paper size of the PIXMA Pro - 100 substitute

    Hello

I love the Pixma Pro-100 on most levels compared to my previous R2400!  Ink consumption, image quality, etc. all are better.  The only exceptionis I could print a banner 44 "on the Epson.  Is it possible to configure or replace the maximum print size 13 x 19?

    Thank you!

    KP

Like other Canon printers, the PRO-100 to set custom paper sizes.

Paper width: 12.95 "- after a few tries, I found that a custom size the value 13" causes a printing error. With the help of 12.95 "corrected it. You will notice on the scale of width 16.54. This is an error in the software programming.

I found that the effective maximum print length is 26 ".  Then 12.95 x 26 inches.  No. 44 inches!

  • Printing from Lightroom 5.2 on Canon Pixma Pro-1

    Hello

I am new to Lightroom 5 and Canon Pro-1. I'm not sure that I fully understand what is happening when I use ICC profiles for printing (in spite of paying through forum after forum). When I print the results look, nothing like the results on the screen. I tried the soft test and proof image looks like my output, but I'm not understand how I'm supposed to use the ICC profile.

    System

    Windows 7

    5.2 Lightroom

    Canon Pixma Pro-1

    8 GB RAM

    1. use of proofing it appears that I need to adjust my image for each paper type. It is not meant for me - I thought that the profile would be to adjust printing so that I wouldn't have to adjust the image.

    2. when I print, I put the following settings of the printer:

    PrintSettings1.png

    3. when using unsupported paper, what types of paper should I choose? Is there a resource anywhere that tells me?

    PrintSettings2.png

    4. should I have my correct print settings Lightroom base?

    PrintSettings3.png

Is could someone please tell me what I understood/hard to please? I know it's a forum for beginners but still, please, excuse for the total lack of understanding.

    Help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Mike

I use the Pro-100 for a few months.  It's a great printer that I am very satisfied.  Currently there is a very aggressive rebate program if someone wants a new printer.  FWIW, I have been unable to find anyone, anywhere not happy with Canon Pro printers.  Basically, you can get a value of $170 of paper and ink for $99 with a printer that is 'free' to the end of the year.

    Return to this topic!

There are potentially three completely different workflows between Lightroom and Canon Pro-life 1, 10, 100 series that involve choices of papers, ICC profiles and color management.

    1. printing with Lightroom controlling color.  You must open the printer driver and disable the printer color management.  By selecting the document in the pilot seems to define the profile.

    2. print with the printer manage the colors.  In LR, he must choose color management > managed by the printer.  Then turn on color management in the printer via the driver.

    3. printing with Canon provided in Cap.  After you have installed the plug of the supplied disc, in LR, go to file > Options of the plug-in > Canon Print Studio Pro.

Like Lightroom fan, addict and supporter of everything that said J Kost, I was using #1 and love for landscapes.  I had to work a bit to find a way to turn off the printer as well as examples of J Kost for Epson.  Then I tried to print a picture of my granddaughter and her cheeks kept getting a little purple.  When I checked the Preview button before printing in the printer driver, I could see the change in color of the preview of LR.

I went to #2 where the printer takes the decisions.  Extracts matched and stopped the cheeks blush.

Then, I looked at a video conference conducted by a specialist of Canon products on the Web B & H Photo site in an hour.  It's the Canon plug-in demo.  I am strongly considering using that in the future.  I hope that Kost J will not be upset with me!  It seems that the Canon plug-in really has better control of quality on the printing process.

A particularly interesting feature of the plug-in is a test sheet that looks like a sheet of evidence.  There are a bunch of thumbnails printed on a single sheet with a different color casts and numbers of adjustment under them.  Once you choose one that is 'just', you can save the setting as a "Preset" for that paper.

Note that in the long video, Canon representative insisted on the support of 3 papers of party in the plug-in.

Too long video was worth the investment of time.  I understand my printer and more watching him.  The link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/indepth/photography/tips-solutions/canon-pixma-professional-in kjet-printers-exactly-you-considered
