The anchor paragraph or referenced text is missing

I have a cross reference of document multi book I was working yesterday. I finished, recorded and saved a document with more than 2000 references crossed 60 documents to others.

Today, when the reopening of this file to work on it, once again, some of the cross references appear as a red flag, saying "the anchor paragraph or referenced text is missing.

When I double click on this reference, it shows me the configuration as previously, I had chosen for him, unchanged, and simply clicking on OK, the red flag has disappeared. I have changed nothing.

Is there a way to get around this bug? Why do I get error indicators? I've not edited documents or changed anything, and yet, I get errors. I tried to "update all cross-references", but the indicators are still there.

PS: I only use the anchor text and all cross-references are Page number (< pageNum / >).

Thank you

I'm afraid that I don't have advice to solve the 'problem '. I would say that, actually, if you are able to correct things using the procedure you described your lucky enough and should count your blessings. He's not unusaul to see reports of having to completely rebuild the cross references.

  • Why can't define paragraph ball in the standard paragraph style?

I want to configure my standard paragraph style so that I can quickly apply the individual paragraphs balls - using MY favorite dashes - without having to create a new style to the paragraphs of the ball. I tried to change the settings of the standard paragraph, with no document open style, but he doesn't seem to accept my choice of dashes. First of all, I selected bullets and put a dash, but then the default paragraph with bullets. When I pass the ball setting back to "none" the only thing he keeps is the last setting that I chose for the tabs. (At the same time, which changes the default tab for all paragraphs setting.) But when I create a new doct and start a paragraph of the ball, the hyphens by default always a.25 /-.25 and any tab setting LOWER a.25 results in the updated first line indented for the tab setting, but the rest of the paragraph indented a.25. There seems to be no way to change default indentation for bullets without creating a new paragraph style. And usually I'm fine with that. But I thought that I would have a default Quick using the standard paragraph style. Am I missing something or is it just not possible?

Here is a Visual/verbal screenshot to help explain:

    InDesign-Bullet-Problem.png

Let's see if I understand differently from others. You want to apply bullets manually from time to time without having to select a new style, you would do this by pressing the button bulleted list in the Control Panel, and you want the settings for tabs and indents, other than the default. Is this correct?

Far as I can tell there is no way to do it. You cannot configure the settings for the chips unless the text cursor is active or if you set a style, there is no way to set up the new default values. You don't want to not set parameters whenever you need a ball, then either you type the balls by hand, tab and insert a hyphen character here, which is actually a lot more work, or you go ahead and set up the style. You can access the list of style in the menu drop-down control panel, or you can add a keyboard shortcut to give you quick access, or press Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) + entry for quick access to apply and start typing the name of the style (almost as fast as a keyboard shortcut).

  • Text of the anchored object wrapping

Why when I anchor image boxes in the flow of text area that has two columns the text wrapping does not work altogether?

In this case, I would do a separate paragraph before the title to insert the anchor there, as I wrote in my other response that the text line with anchor and before is ignored.

  • Wrap the anchor graphic text

Using InDesign CC, I want to wrap text around a graphic that is embedded in the paragraph. I am able to do this if the graphic is anchored on the left side of the paragraph by choosing Inline or above line and by adjusting the distance Y.

However, I need to anchor the graph on the right of the paragraph in order to align the right edge of the image on the right edge of the section, as shown below. Is this possible?

    Untitled-1.gif

Text on anchored objects wrapping is a bit different from the packaging of objects not anchored. For inline/above the line, the applied film affects the text in the line containing the anchor and all subsequent lines. For custom objects placed, wrap affects the text in the lines after the line that currently holds the anchor (NOT where the anchored object is actually positioned on the page).

  • The anchored object could not wrap the text of the marker line.

I need some time to provision the photo to be next to the text like this:

    Text Wrap in Anchored Objects.png

But the problem is in the first line (the line where the anchor marker is available as the first character). Because this line is not affected by the skin of the photo.

I know that's not a bug, because it's could ' t be achieved logically, because the photo may affect the anchor marker and then the anchor marker can affect the picture. Can then take over loop.

But this is not the case when the anchor marker is the first character of the line.

Is it possible to adjust this layout with different technical and somehow if we can change the width of the frame without having to manually readjust.

Anchor the image in the previous line. If necessary, you can add an empty paragraph before holding the anchor and set it to show solidarity. Set the line spacing for this empty paragraph to 0. So as not to break the line at the top of a framework, however, frame options must be on the leader to the first base line.

  • At the end of my mind: placing anchored object inline with text & wrap

I never learned to InDesign that I had granted. Once I managed well with Aldus Pagemaker. But I just spent the last two hours trying to solve a huge gap in my knowledge and I can't do it. I'm exasperated and desperately need help.

What I want to do: I have a tech with a lot of text manual and did need to place graphical objects in a way that the text will be around the object and if I need to edit the text, the graph will move with which I inserted the chart.

    What's happening:

    1. I have a block of text with the text. I place the cursor at the beginning of the paragraph, and then click file > place, then choose a graphic.

2 using the selection tool, I click the image and then click the 'wrap around bounding.

    3. the text moves a tiny bit but not wraps around the object.

4 object is, however, / rooted, inline with text.

    OR

    1. with nothing selected, click on file > place, then choose a graphic.

    2. I place the graphic on the lower part of the page on an empty space.

    3. I move the chart on the text and then click the icon 'wrap around bounding.

    4. the text flows but when I change the text, it does not flow in the graph.

    Conclusion:

I'm retarded. I even went through the example of Lynda here: http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0073 I was able to place my object in its document and look at the wrapped text to flow around the graphic text.

I read the help documentation (I'm a big fan of reading).

The only thing I can think is I put my text box to the top wrong or I don't know. I'm so frustrated that I seriously almost in tears.

My sample document (I am under a NDA and cannot release my original document, but I have reproduced what I did in the other) is here to someone who can tell me what I did wrong. Thank you kindly.

You are not delayed. Text wrapping is not intuitive with anchored objects.

For items online, dressing affects only the text after the inserted object. For custom anchored objects, it only affects the text beyond the line where the anchor point.

Often, this means that you do intuitive tricks to get things working as you want, like putting the anchor in its own paragraph, or advance on where you thought, it should be.

  • Object to a paragraph Style anchor? Objects behind text

    Hello

I am trying to anchor a graphic object to a paragraph style that is a numbered paragraph. I've set up my number and I want a single chart to be anchored to the number so it appears behind the number each time that I chose this paragraph style.

    Is this possible to do?

Or maybe I should ask how others put graphics in the background of the bullets or numbers and have their anchor point for the text...

Of course, I could use some help with this; It seems it should be easy...

    Dave.

I found it fascinating, so I thought I'd see what I could come up with.

I did a numbered paragraph style, for starters. Then I did a Cyan filled ellipse, which I anchored in front of the first word in a paragraph and changed the positioning custom and made sure it was compared to the anchor and off to respect the limits of the image, to allow me to position 'behind' the number. As emmanuel, anchored objects work actually in front of the text, therefore, so far, it isn't.

I selected the ellipse and changed its blend mode to multiply. It won't change color where it is more white, but it will darken everywhere where it is located on another color, creating a rich black number, for example, if you used the text in black. Looks pretty good now.

Select the ellipse and create a new object style based on it. It will be by default include the blend mode and the anchored object settings and make sure that the style is applied to the selected ellipse. Now cut the ellipse and stick it on the pastboard in the way so you don't lose it.

As long as the object exists in the Clipboard you can use for a search/replace operation, so you can do this now or later, just by copying again when appropriate. Find/replace must be a GREP search ^ (.) which means find any character at the beginning of a paragraph, and then replace it by ~ c$ 1, which means replacing the found character and content to the Clipboard format. Be sure to set the discovery of options for the numbered paragraph style formatting.

Because you gave the object an object style that includes the mode of fusion and positioning and you stuck as a formatting object, these attributes are preserved and the graph will be correctly positioned for each paragraph.

  • WTH? I have a gap in the text that I can't fill. There is no hidden formatting that I can find, and I apply a paragraph style to text.

I'm not well-versed in indesign, but what I've discovered, is that the box around the page number on the master was wrapping text, which was originally my text to break around her at the center bottom of the pages. Problem solved, and amiellemiel is right.

  • First paragraph of the text is larger than the following paragraphs

I have a page with a lot of text on the subject. For some reason, the first paragraph seems larger than the following paragraphs. But all that I checked shows that they are identical in terms of specs. I copied/pasted/no formatted/spruced up... but no matter what I do, that first paragraph is looking to be bigger! Is this some secret parameter that I don't know?

I took screenshots and they are indeed the same size. But that first paragraph seems just different! Why would it be?

I have attached a screenshot. Let me know if my client and I are just seeing things.

    Julie

    example.jpg

Seems to be the same size.

See the image below, the first line of paragraph 2, overlapping the first paragraph. (o during even as o in the company)

Can be an illusion of perspective due to all caps in the first paragraph.

  • out the anchor text block and copy its contents

    Hi all

I have a script that will be able to anchor to InDesign text block and it works well. Now my problem is that I released that anchored text frames and then copy its contents the same position where the text block was at anchor.

    Here's what I do:

    1. find and block of text of a document (using the find object, anchored by its applied object style).

    2. release the anchored object found.

3 copy its contents the same position where it was anchored.

For 1 and 2 rep, I maybe able to do but point 3 I have no idea.

Hope someone can lend me the time to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Image text wrapping negatively affects the balanced paragraphs - need help

I have CS5 - 5. I'm no expert, but I am using the program for a number of years in the design of flyers, brochures, posters and short brochures. Now I'm on my first magazine and I thought that all the features balanced new paragraph would work a breeze - it didn't! So, I have a page of A4 size with a block of text in two columns that fills (have also the text flows on the next page if it's relevant). The text is 10pt with a line spacing of 12 pt. Everything is good so far. I used paragraphs balanced in a first time to have the two columns of text aligning horizontally. Seemed fine. However, as soon as I drop an image into the mix, the width of a column (lower left corner of the page), simple text wrapping, text changed less satisfactorily. Text above won't come down to meet the upper part of the image, no matter what I put in measures to wrap text or what kind of film I use. Also the text to the right of the image is more down to the bottom of the text block. The problem is further compounded when I integrate a quote as a separate object.

Then I disabled the balanced paragraphs feature and used a grid of base line instead, taking up many of the suggestionson another discussion and also using advice elsewhere on the net. Useful in a sense that it helped me to learn more about what baseline grid but I am still with my problem.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that I ask the program to do anything complicated. It's not as if the text should wrap around the object. I know that I could get the effect I want to using single column text blocks and get text to flow from one to the other, but it is certainly not how it should be? If you like I can send screenshots, but I'm not sure it would help. I write this in the morning in England so I know that many of you will still be sleeping. However, once you have had your first cup of coffee of the day, maybe you could give me a little help? Needless to say that any advice that anyone could offer would be warmly accepted.

    Best wishes to all,

    John

If I had to guess, by looking at your screenshots, I would say that you have a possibility to keep in your style on the last two lines of the paragraphs together and that there is not enough space to the bottoom of the image for more than two lines, but you do not have we shown the contours of the block.

  • InDesign CS4 on the MAC, export to PDF - strange behavior, missing text problem

tried searching, but have found no cure for this.

I'm working on a design CD 6 Panel. At one point, later in the project, as I was exporting as a PDF (print quality) for review, I noticed that some text was missing at random. Initailly tried to move some graphics and text into a new layer, and it solved. With the help of MAC, last Macbook Pro.

Now, she's back as I am finished with the project and export PDF is broken once again, and I had no luck this time fixing part of the substance penetrating new layers.

The best way to see are attached snapshots. An overview of the entire project, and then a detail on one of the messed up text as displayed in Adobe Reader 9.1

WHAT is the cause? How to get around this problem?

    maduniverse wrote:

Are used the symbol Apple and Eurostile LT ExtendedTwo police.

As I mentioned earlier, when I thought 50% done with the project, everything was very well export. So I'm not convinced it's the police.

Someone mentioned being out of alignment with folding lines? What does that mean?

First of all, I would like to try a different front for symbols of Apple.

Second, if you look at the marks around the two thorns, you will notice that they do not align up and down. I looked at the model, and it's actually design. Those on the bottom indicate where the folds are two spines on the edges, toppings on top guides are - I think for a cut. Frankly, I really do not understand completely how this is done, so I don't know what the pink line is really signifyiing. The green line inside it is showing you the security zone, or the area in which you keep all the important data in the layout. Your spinal column copy shoud adapt to the width of the guides on half lower.
