The APEX 4.0 project Gantt chart: almost a bug
Hi the APEX team:My application uses diagrams of Gantt project widely, so I think it's a missing parameter: width of datagrid
It seems that this Gantt chart sets a fixed width of datagrid section, so that whatever the datagrid content always gets the same width.
If you are unable to control this setting, the datagrid is very limited, especially if you try to reduce the graph. In my case, I always use Gantt diagrams without datagrids.
A little suggestion: default alignment for the column name in the datagrid is Center. I think a better default alignment should be left.
Best regards
Oscar
Hi Oscar,.
I get only to see your message now, otherwise I would have answered early on.
Q: + it seems that this Gantt chart sets a fixed width of datagrid section, so that whatever the datagrid content always gets the same width. +
In a future release, we can look at exposing this option via the page attributes of table. In the meantime, the user has the possibility to adjust the size of the data grid by moving the gray line between datagrid and the sections of the chronology of the Gantt chart. Q: + a little suggestion: default alignment for the column name in the datagrid is Center. I think a better default alignment should be left. + Kind regards
Rep. : Yes, you are right. AnyChart defines a width by default for the datagrid section, which is 325 pixels, described in their books online, in the section titled "Width parameter" in the chapter General data grid settings: http://www.anychart.com/products/anygantt/docs/users-guide/datagrid.html?fromtree. It's something that you can control by customizing the
Years: is actually the default management AnyChart of the path, but you can certainly substitute that by specifying your own alignments in the custom XML part if you want to. We also see this as an improvement for the Gantt chart settings on the page attributes of table for a future version.

Apex 4.2: Project Gantt - parent displayed does not correctly
Hello
I have a project Gantt chart with parent_id defined in the SQL code. Everything displays correctly, for example 1 project has projects 2,3,4 & 5, children in my database and they show correctly indented.
However, when I go on the Gantt chart I noticed something weird. If you know on the Gantt chart, you have a text on the left (in my case the value say project 1 project 2, etc.), and you have the bars showing on the right. When I mouse over a bar on the right, it highlights in light blue - but a different line 'project' is selected on the left. More when I read data 'task' in the pop up window when I go on the bar, it lists the wrong project project name, i.e. that highlighted and not one directly to the left. Sometimes, it is only a line out, sometimes it's several rows on. When I click on the bar, it takes me to the correct details of the project (not underlined / popping up and one pointing directly to the left).
Has anyone encountered this before and there is an obvious difficulty?
For now, I put parent_id null, but...
Thank you
EmmaHi Emma,
Would you change your query to use a START WITH... CONNECT BY clause, generate a hierarchical result and see if that makes a difference?
select null link, task_name as name, task_id as ID, parent_id as parent, actual_start, actual_end, progress, planned_start, planned_end from ( select ACTIVITIES_NAME task_name, ACTIVITIES_ID task_id, activities_parent_id parent_id, ACTIVITIES_CURRSTARTDATE actual_start, ACTIVITIES_CURRENDDATE actual_end, ACTIVITIES_PROGRESS progress, ACTIVITIES_ORIGSTARTDATE planned_start, ACTIVITIES_ORIGENDDATE planned_end from AA_WL_ACTIVITIES3 ) start with parent is null connect by prior id = parent order siblings by name
I can't test this query I have don't have access to your workspace, so please run in SQL Workshop first and verify that it works properly before applying it to your chart.

Custom color in display Gantt chart based on the State - Apex 4.2
Hello
I need to specify the custom color display Gantt chart based on the State.
Say: Open - Red
Progress-yellow
Cancelled - blue
Closed - Green
given that the status column is not part of Gantt chart question, how?
Option color in table attributes is not helping this requirement.

Hello
I created a Gantt chart and discovered a problem. Jobs don't always appear in chronological order.
I tried to order the query by date, but then the tasks don't always show next (or in the same order) on the bars to the right of the plan.
Is anyway I can order the tasks without losing the alignment with the diagram of the individual task bar?
Thanks in advance.
Hello
You have not specified what type of Gantt chart, you use: it is a project gantt chart or resource? In addition, you are dealing with hierarchical data?
Looks like you might be dealing with hierarchical data and the order in which the data are generated is cause your problem and culminating in the timeline entries being out of alignment with the datagrid control. So, without seeing the application in use, my suggestion would be to update the query to generate a hierarchical representation of your data via an START WITH... CONNECT BY question, using a syntax similar to the following:
Select the
link,
TaskName,
ID,
parent_id,
start_date,
End_date,
status
tasks _table
Start by parent_id is null
connect by parent_id = prior id
siblings arrested by start_dateIf the query is retrieving the list of tasks and then hierarchically by listing the based on parent-child association which was held in the PARENT_ID of the table column. The end result means that each parent task is listed with their tasks associated with children and sorted by START_DATE.
If this isn't answering your query, please update this thread with more information about your test scenario. Even better - if you could create a unit test on apex.oracle.com and post a link to the unit test and the syntax of the query you are using, it would be very useful.

Where to find examples of Gantt graph?
See you soon,.

When you go through the steps in the wizard 'create Gantt Chart', simply click the expandable list "Query example of project Gantt chart" when you are in step 'Source' to get examples, how the query should look like.

Hello
I produced a query based Gantt chart
Select the Null link,
TaskName,
Task_Id,
Parent_id,
actual_start,
actual_end,
progress null,
planned_start,
Planned_End
Of query_table
Everything looks good, except that I don't want to show the progress since we do not actually hold this value. I tried setting it null, as shown above, but it shows up on the table as 0%. Is it possible to remove this display on every spot on the card value?
Thank you
Hello
You will need to customize the XML to achieve this behavior. On page table attributes, the value "use Custom XML' to Yes and in the XML delete all references to:
Complete: full {%} %
This will remove references to the progress bar in the ToolTips used on the Gantt chart. Then you will need to update the
tag to include information label for the bar. It looks like the complete label is the default label associated with a project Gantt chart, although I have not found anything in the online documentation indicating this. I'll follow up with AnyChart on it. In the meantime, I recommend you read Guide their use online, specifically labels in spots, where you will find information on possible labels, you can set for the bars in the area of the chronology of the graph. If you leave the tags empty, or simply do not include them, it looks like the bar without any label, which perhaps is the behavior you're trying to reach. Here is the XML code, you can add to your chart: .....
.........
.. .or the tags in grey above already exist in the XML table, so should not be copied. I hope this helps.

Apex 4.1 - Gantt chart resource with dynamic colors based on the background
Hello
I request of the customer to create a resource of Gantt chart that displays the different color bars based on the employee assigned to each task.
I found two excellent examples of Hilary on the use of different colors; Unfortunately, they use static colors:
https://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=36648:114
https://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=36648:60
I will present an example for the http://apex.oracle.com later in the day.
Meanwhile, does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this?
Thank you
Erick
Erick,
What makes you decide to use a chart of the resource instead of a task of projects, so what you are viewing is just a chart of the project? No resource is indicated on the data grid, but rather task names. Not not it doesn't, but it's confusing that shouldn't be there. It complicates the xml code required when it should not.
Aside from that, you can do what you want, but you need to change the custom XML and generate xml data yourself.
See page 2 in your application: https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=16559:2
-generate xml processes
-region with a few hidden items
-custom xml to include items hidden in the correct places
-remove the series just to indicate that no data is retrieved in a way
In short:
-generate xml data to generate a style for every single transferee. I generate a name for each "style" | assignee_id, which makes it easy to reference in the task. I added a function to generate a custom hex color too, just for the joy?
-generating resources
-generate periods and assign the style accordign to the assignee

Probably nothing. I get the same error with a similar request, but after selecting the option Save query without validation when you apply the changes, the graphic is displayed correctly. Potentially, a bug in the validation of the application.
I'd actually using the region of Gantt plugin found in the application of P-Track packed instead, which is a component of HTML5 more modern which is a better choice for use in the universal theme.

Chronology in the Oracle Apex5 Gantt Chart view

How to do this?

In the component graphic Flash Gantt this requires a graphical change settings using the XML part that is customized according to the documentation AnyGantt 4.3. In the area of the Gantt chart, switch to Use Custom XML Yesand modify the XML custom, expanding the
timeline
element of...
to include a custom
scale
element which eliminates the level of the day:...
A better alternative would be to use the Gantt chart plugin region of the packed app P-way rather than the Flash option integrated Gantt chart. The plug-in supports simple customization/user control in the period of mounting using a page item control.

I use Apex on top of Oracle 11.2.0.3 4.2.1.00.08
I want to set up a gantt chart resource with minutes on the axis instead of from the default.
I tried to introduce a key xml < anygantt > < settings > < sequence > < scale > < interval > < type interval = interval 'Hour' (or 'Minute') = 1 > without success.
What happens then is an unending "Loading Data"
The number of lines configured should be sufficient. When the XML to defalult reset all data are displayed.
When checking a little more away all graphics date information truncated to the part of the day of the date indication.
So, how can I configure the Gantt chart in order to have the minutes below the limit.
Worms and from the db column is of type DATE MM and SS.
BRHi BR,
Looking at the XML table you have included in your message, it may or may not be a typo, but the figure is expected to be wrapped in quotes i.e.
Without the quotes around the number 1, you will certainly get the "Loading Data" message. If that ever happens, the best thing to do is to run your page in debug mode and click on the "View XML" link which will appear under your graph. Cllicking on the link displays the XML file associated with your chart. However, it will show also any error was captured during the generation of the XML table. This could be useful, especially when you work with custom XML where it is very easy to misplace tags or omit the quotation marks.
Regarding the time for your Gantt chart information, in order to generate Gantt charts when the accurate time information are used, then the graphical query must make reference to
TIMESTAMP columns. If you take a look at the example in my sample application (see http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:83) it might be useful.)Let me know how you go.

Order of the data rows of Gantt chart does not match the order of the lines in the timeline
Hello
I have a project with tasks parent and child gantt chart. It works fine except that the order of the rows in the datagrid control does not always match the order of the lines in the timeline. If it should not match? In addition, in the timeline, in some cases the period of the child does not appear directly under the parent period. Is this a bug or am I missing something? How to get the lines in the correct order?
Tiina
Published by: Tiina on 11.11.2010 01:08Tiina salvation,
Thank you update data, which solved one of the questions. Now for the actual order of the elements in the timeline - if you take a look at the order of the data in the XML table, calendar entries are just that reflects the order in which the data was returned by the query. So although I suggested using an ORDER BY ID condition on your request, you are actually better off using a START WITH... CONNECT BY clause for resultset hierarchical of output.
I created 2 page in your application (a copy of page 1), where you can compare the difference between the paintings pages 1 & 2, in terms of appearance and also the order of the tasks in the XML file.
I hope this helps.

Gantt chart is not correctly displayed for the task to the foreground
Hello
I tried to create a Gantt chart similar to [http://www.anychart.com/products/anygantt/gallery/sample_02.html]
except the connectors aren't needed. I could stall parts of the custom XML part, but the parent tasks always appear with the same style as the tasks of the child. I want to do the parent display periods so that they are different compared to the periods of child as in the example graph, where they are gray and thinner. How is that possible?
TiinaTiina salvation,
First of all, just to explain the current behavior, generated in APEX chronology in the diagrams of Gantt bars have a style by default called defaultStyle applied to them. This style controls the appearance of the different elements of the region of the timeline, as the current bar, progress bar color etc. The needs of default style to apply to the
tags in the table XML that is tags containing the data of your Gantt chart. To allow users to control the appearance of objects timeline via attributes on the page attributes of table, we update the Style by default with the selected page attributes of table values and then we reference this style in the tag, as follows: .. .or style = "defaultStyle" is the reference to the style. If you look in the XML file, you will see where the default Style has been set.
Tags are generated during execution and filled with the results of the query in the chart series game. If we apply a default style to these tags, then users must manually generate the tags themselves in order to apply a style to their data in Gantt chart. In AnyChart, no style has been applied to the example you have selected - http://www.anychart.com/products/anygantt/gallery/sample_02.html - only default AnyChart parameters are used here. Due to the existence of style = "defaultStyle" in your Gantt chart data, you will need to make the necessary changes in the tags of your XML file. These changes are possible via the options on the page attributes of table or by customizing the XML. I know that's not exactly the same as the example of AnyChart, but you can get something similar just update the graphic attribute settings, as in this example: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:50. I hope this helps.

APEX 4.0 - construction of Gantt chart error?
Hello world
When I build a Gantt chart in apex.oracle.com, the start and end dates show no actual date, just text "dd.mm.rr".
My query follows:
Select
NULL as link,
Description like taskname,
TASK_ID as task_id,
NULL as parent_id,
start_date as actual_start,
End_date as actual_end,
progress as progress
of PENDING_TASKS;
Any ideas?
OscarHi Oscar,.
For Gantt diagrams, by default the Format of Date of Application will use to bring in the form the dates on your Gantt chart. If a date of application-level format is not specified and none is a Date of the Gantt chart format, via the attributes list page, then the NLS_DATE_FORMAT will serve to shape the dates on your Gantt chart. If you want to set a date through the table attributes page format, change your Gantt chart and update the item "Date" in the region of Gantt chart settings. For example, on this example on apex.oracle.com - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:4 - I put the 'Date Format' * % dd.%MMM.%yy*, which uses the AnyChart format specifiers required, indicated such in the AnyChart documentation, specifically in the list of parameters of formatting: http://www.anychart.com/products/anygantt/docs/users-guide/locale.html?fromtree#list.
Version 4.0 - post, I identify a problem with the context menu associated with the element 'Format of Date' on page table attributes and bug 9861439 can be used to track this issue. A fix for this issue will be available in our next release, but in the meantime you can enter dates in the text 'Format of Date' element, ensuring that you use the format specifiers AnyChart described in the documentation that I have included a link for above example * % dd.%MMM.%yy*.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards
