• SQL Server 2008R2 Server Audit - HostName Will be included in the audit information?

  I'm testing audit Server, and it really works so well. Many articles and examples are available and it is very simple. The output shows all the necessary information as well, what was the change, that did it, BUT not change where. (Workstation or even IP address?)

  We have an application that runs under an application service account that makes changes to the database. The application can be run from different hosts and would be really nice if the audit can display this information as well.
  Am I missing just this information? or is it just an audit framework, I need to turn on as well to include this information?
  If it is not included in all information, is there any plan of it in the future, including updates?

  I am brand new with Hyperion Planning/Essbase and I'm trying to implement an audit trail of data. I already turned on the audit data in the workspace-> Navigate-> Applications-> planning-> DBName-> Administration-> Application reports. I also downloaded SQLDeveloper in my laptop and have it operational. However, I can not understand how to connect with Hyperion Planning/Essbase. Is there documentation on how to setup the connection? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  If you go into the administration of planning and change the data source for your application, then it should provide all the connection information.
  In SQLdeveloper add a new connection and enter the details of the data source to connect to the schema and expand tables and view or query the data in HSP_AUDIT_RECORDS

  I am auditing 7-8 tables in my database according to the needs of the company.
  
  I have a very large table in my database which is having around more than 60million records and the size of this segment is about 9 GB. Because of the requirement of the enterprise, to capture all the update and delete the history of this table.
  Currently, we have update and delete row level triggers that simply insert old values in the change_history table. But because of the size of this table of history, sometimes it become pain to get information.
  
  Now, we are modernizing our Database 9i and 10g and I read about the enable workspace versioning feature manager.
  
  Could you please provide your valuable suggestion is it interesting to use dbms_wm.enableversioning for this large table? It will increase the performance? It will increase the performance of history changes drillthrough reports.
  
  I perform a simple test to check the performance of the normal and the activated version table. If the performance is the same, but explain the plan for the activated version table was pretty horrible as oracle has created some tables and views that he.
  I wonder if I join tbal activated version with a few other tables and the complexity of the explain plan command, focus of this query could be tricky.

  You will get probably not any improvement in performance by using Workspace Manager for relatively simple reports. The main advantages of the use of Workspace Manager to keep track of changes to data over time are

  -eliminating the need to write and maintain line-level triggers (less of a concern here where the code is already written and a relatively small number of tables is involved)
  -avoids the logic of the code "includes" in your reports. If you need run a report that gets the State of a line at a particular point in time table, join to the version of one row in another table that was in effect at that point in time, etc., you end up writing a lot of custom code to determine the current version of each line of a particular table. Workspace Manager allows you to go back to an arbitrary point in time and is implemented that bounding box logic automatically (helpful when you can reuse the reports which are designed to examine the current state without making any code changes for the status to an arbitrary point in the past).

  However, performance tends to be much more difficult because there are a number of objects involved. Best Workspace Manager will perform as well as your custom code could perform. For most cases, it is possible to write custom code more quickly. Therefore, whether the effort of that save you from the Manager of the workspace will argue (potentially small) performance problems.

  If you are on editing business, purely from the performance point of view, you would get probably more benefits of partitioning the table audit (partitioning is an extra cost option with your license to enterprise edition). You can also consider upgrading to 11g and using Total Recall (other additional cost).

• Firefox is no longer in the first 5 seconds after the launch plan

  I am running Win7 with all the latest updates and Firefox 13.0.1. After I run Firefox, a few seconds later (it varies), the Firefox window is no longer in the foreground. It's as if I clicked on another window or wall-paper, and the Firefox window is no longer selected. It becomes embarrassing when I launch Firefox, click a bookmark to blog and try to scroll down with my mouse wheel. All of a sudden, it stops scrolling because the window is no longer in the first plan/selected, and I have to click on the Firefox window back to the foreground. Note that if I open other windows, the Firefox window always remains above these windows. But the window of Firefox itself is not the selected object.

  I finally found the plugin that asks that question for me. The plug-in, I confirmed my system is 'Shockwave Flash 11.3.300.268', which is the most recent available now. Deactivating a plugin solves the problem for me. I hope an update of Adobe will respond to that.

  After 2 hours of research and new attempts, I finally solved this problem.

  1. just to keep a new attempt on the iPhone, until the account is locked.

  (Note, only the account on the iPhone is locked, can I still use iTunes Windows and web to connect on the same Apple ID]

  2. then follow the instructions on the screen to unlock the account.

  (you will be asked 2 secret questions when the account is set up a few years ago)...

  Once the reset is OK, the same account is included to connect the iPhone and buy apps.  (Yes..!)
