The bands all the metadata export?

I update all my IPTC data as ell as having a GPS tagging all my photos - but when I edit in Photoshop, then export as - PS is stripping ALL my data?

The only two options are NONE, or copyright and neither are to preserve data.

I tried to export legacy - and define the metadata at ALL - but who always removes the GPS information.

I need this stored information. All my notes, locations, GPS info and copyright information is contained in there and shall retain it.

What I am doing wrong?

Sorry for the delay - I was able to confirm that all the GPS data was present prior to export.

It also seems that Adobe knows there is a problem - but I wasn't able to find out if they plan fix it?

    Hello!

There must be something else, perhaps with the importer of photo website? When I export with the option to include all the metadata info from the lens is also included. It is usually written by the camera in EXIF fields data. Sounds like your camera is written this info since Lightroom can see it.

If you have another application of image processing (you camera manufacturer, Preview, etc) see if a file exported from that behaves the same way when you import into your photo site.

Recording of metadata in the files is through the selection of the photos and then Ctrl-S, or by enabling the option in the settings of catalog changes automatically write XMP

  • PNG 1x15px = 1 262 bytes!  How do I strip the exif/xmp metadata export?

    Hello

I use Fireworks CS3 on Mac 10.4.11 to create png files used in my HTML/CSS layout (things like background gradients, rounded corners, etc.). Most of my png is really small pixel-wise (the most important is 15x15px). When Fireworks exports, the images are around 1 KB in size. Looking at the files exported in a hex editor .png, the largest part of the file is meta data like 'moment of creation', "EXtSoftware Adobe Fireworks CS3" and a huge block of < x: xmpmeta > XML. I don't want these meta data in the .png file. I need these images to be as small as possible to save bandwidth.

I tried to export the .png as PNG32 using file-> export and file-> preview-> export Image. None of these exports the .png without meta-data. I tried to remove the meta data file-> file Info, but it will not let me delete some data, and it doesn't seem to do anything. If I export the same image in GIF format, 50 bytes. Certainly there is no channel alpha as GIF, but still!

It seems there is a bug in the PNG exporter where it isn't metadata Strip. Does anyone have a work around for this? Even an image processor on the mac command line that can remove these data would be perfect.

    Thank you!

    Hi Jim

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this does not work for me. However, it gives me an idea that worked. I was able to get the FW to export correctly by following these steps:

    1. unlock all layers in my main folder and select the entire document.
    2. all copy to the Clipboard.
    3. create a new file without title (FW will automatically know the right size depending on the size of the Clipboard of the canvas)
    4. Paste the layers in the new file.
5 file-> export the file without a title in the output file desired without saving the changes.

My file is now 207 bytes, much better than before. Thanks for the idea.

However, the exported file still contains the metadata for "Time tExtCreation" and "tEXtSoftware Adobe Fireworks CS3", which amounts to another 60 + bytes of wasted space. I would like to suggest a feature. It would be great if FW had a "super skinny" export mode exported anything but the minimum amount of data image and nothing else. I'm so picky about this is because these files are used in an environment where they are requested 100 million times / month. These 60 extra bytes will cause an extra 6GB of bandwidth for the month. Not a huge deal, but it's all adds up.

    Thanks for the help!

  • LR to read the metadata of the file, automatically or manually all the configuration files

    Hello

I would like to know how to configure LR for the following use cases:

    1. Read the metadata from all the photo files once.
    2. Always read all files, so "to start" stage, on a regular or - ideally - on basis of evolution into a file.

I already know how to "read metadata" for individual or selected, files but my questions are in regards to pictures of my catalog.

Another way to look at this is: how to select all the images? Is it possible to say to LR to read the metadata for the selected images and apply "import disc settings' as the default for conflicts?

I don't understand what some of the implications of are, as a decline in performance in the section files/XMP metadata are only a subset of the LR metadata keeps in the catalog, for example flags, the collection members, develop the story, etc. are all not stored in XMP as I understand it - and it's good for me.

All my files are JPG or TIFF, so the XMP section is contained in the files, not in separate sidecar XMP files. On my file system my photos are usually organized in a folder structure as follows: J:\Pictures\Year\Month\Event.

    Thank you very much!

    Stefan

    1. Select all Photos (click on all of the photographs, turn off filters, expand all the batteries, then Ctrl + A) then the metadata-> read metadata from files

    2. cannot be done. Reading metadata from files must be started manually.

    Hi helpmeplease2030

ExportPDF service lets you export PDF to other formats. You can convert a PDF to Word or any other format and can make changes in the Word Document.

Now to convert it back to PDF, you need Adobe Acrobat or PDF Pack.

If you just want to change the PDF file, you can use Adobe Acrobat XI. Download the trial and use it for free for 30 days.

  • Can I import words from the file name as keywords in the metadata when you import pictures?

    Hello

My apologies if this question has already been asked. I can't find the answer: will / Lightroom can import words filename for my photos as keywords in the metadata when you import the photos from my hard drive? And if so, how can I do this?

I'm new to Lightroom from iPhoto. After reading several articles on the transfer of photos from iPhoto, I exported some 7000 photos in an electronic file on my hard drive. I'm following the advice, sort and rename the photo files on my hard drive to be able to import them into Lightroom in an orderly fashion. It is not too difficult because iPhoto already for most changed the filenames for event names as ordered in iPhoto. I also prefer to do it manually rather than using any iPhoto / Aperture plugin because my iPhoto organization was far from perfect and I have already started to significantly improve by changing the file names.

I'm renaming the files of images with additional information to improve the organisation even more with what would anyway keywords "DATE/NAME/NAME OF PERSON (S) IN THE EVENT PHOTO" so it would be good to not have enter these keywords in the metadata after import for each photo. It's automatic and if not is there a way to do this? All the other tips are welcome!

    Thank you

    Hi adiscerningeye,

You can create metadata Preset and then apply this preset on import for images.

    Link partners: -.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Help | Shares of advanced metadata

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 * create and apply metadata presets

Once you create a metadata preset, you must select it during import so it will be applied on all images when importing.

You can also type a few words under key words, so it will work like keywords for this specific to import Images.

Let us know if it helps.

  • Why should I use the new export dialog box? (PS CC15)

On my system, it takes more time for the preview and I can't cut to look like the dialogbox.

At the moment of export as that is not a lot going for it. It removes the icc profile and all the metadata, without possibility to preserve either. It's only a complete IMO deal breaker. It also lacks the feature "convert to sRGB" Dresser.

I chose to consider a framework under construction. It may turn out to be excellent, once the work is completed.

  • How the metadata change by Lightroom and another application?

I often get the message "the metadata for this photo has been changed by Lightroom and another application. Lightroom import settings from disk or replace drive with the catalog settings? "on the images in my catalog. I only use Lightroom to organize, add keywords, basic settings, etc.. On occasions, I take a picture in Photoshop to work more, it is exported in a TIFF or PSD file and the original stays in the catalog LR blank any other thing I could do to the image.

I have two choices with this message: settings to use Lightroom, OR crush them to disk. The first time it has scared me, as I had no idea where these changes were and why the disk file was something different that lightroom catalog. I have all my metadata stored in XMP files. But I took the chance and said: replace the LR settings and didn't change anything on the sliders or the displayed image. I then tried a little saying 'Keep the LR settings', and again, I didn't see any visible signs of changes. This leads me to believe that they are NOT changed but things LR, they are somehow. But I do not see it, I want it to go away unless there really changes happening outside of LR (as if I went to the bridge or something...)

Any ideas why this message? I just discovered approximately 100 images in a collection of images, I sent to the Agency in stock three years ago and have not done something with them outside LR since.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Users have complained for years about the fake notifications of metadata has changed.  If you are convinced that you do not change the file itself outside LR, then choosing settings Overwrite will rewrite the metadata in the file with the metadata for catalogue and (usually) to make the fake notification disappear.

Unfortunately, LR does not tell you the metadata fields have been changed, so that users are left flying blind.  In my opinion, Rob Cole had a plugin that will tell you the metadata for the differences between the catalog and the disk file, but its Web site has been down for a couple of weeks now.

ManiacJoe: My guess is that Photoshop updates some fields of EXIF data in the raw, for example the "edited with the software" file field. Given that Lightroom has probably already established in this field, it gives you a warning that something has changed.

Interesting hypothesis.  I just tested with LR 5.7.1, Photoshop CC 2014, OS X 10.10 and could not reproduce the problem.  I have exported a TIFF file to a raw file that is catalogued in the same folder as the raw, TIFF edition and changed some of its metadata in Photoshop, and saved.  LR didn't report a notification of change-a metadata.

In general, I'd be surprised if you changed x.tif in PS, it would change all the metadata in x.cr2 or x.xmp (moderately).

  • Virtual copies are not synchronized in a second Lightroom Catalog even if the metadata are written in XMP and synchronization with the metadata has been selected

    Dear community,

I use a Mac with 5.7 of Lightroom which is configured to store all the metadata in the xmp files. The Lightroom Catalog is stored locally on the Mac and contains only references to images and their xmp files that are stored on a network device. There is another Mac with the same setup with a local separate Lightroom Catalog and access to the same images on the network device.

At a starting point, the two Lightroom catalogs are identical - they refer to the same images on the network device and contain the same metadata.

When I update the properties of the image on the first Mac, these changes are reflected in the xmp file. After using the option 'synchronize' with activated "metadata synchronization" on the second Mac, the modified image properties are visible on the second Mac. It is very good.

However, when I create a virtual copy on the first Mac, I realize that the corresponding xmp file is updated. However, even after the synchronization, the virtual copy is not visible on the second Mac. I can change the properties of the image of the original image and get these changes replicated to the second Mac, but the virtual copies remain the first Mac.

What should I do also virtual copies get synchronized?

Thank you very mich for your support.

    Best regards

    Peter

However, when I create a virtual copy on the first Mac, I realize that the corresponding xmp file is updated.

As far as I know, xmp does not contain information about the virtual copies. If this method to attempt to synchronize two catalogs will not work.

Better you should use the file-> Export catalog on a single computer and then file-> import from another catalog on another computer.

  • LR 3.2 print file number: what happened to the metadata?

Hi, I'm new here, I apologize if this topic could have been discussed before. So, here's my problem...

I spent my weekend working on my vacation photos... I'm almost done. I just added a nice black border to each of them and used the "print to file" function to print all in jpeg. I checked the files and they lack all of the original information of the 'capture date '. This will not occur when I use export jpeg function. Why? I really need the dates in order to keep my files organized. any ideas? I really don't want to go in a change manually one by one.

    Thank you

    Damiano

    Should I do this differently?

Yes. Printing to jpeg function captures all metadata (only the key words I think) images of the layout. The fundamental issue is that you can (ond often do) have several images on a page layout. In this case, the metadata of the image that you choose to include in the metadata? Lightroom has simply chosen to not put anything but copyright and keywords. If you want to add a border for single exported images and want to complete metadata included, it is best to set up a photoshop droplet or using LR/mogrify.

  • How to fix the metadata edited in LR recording?

Nine images on a total of 157 images digitized photographs continue to show the "arrow down" despite many attempts to save metadata using the command-S. Same result using the view dialog box the badge of metadata made click on "metadata for one or more of these photos has changed in Lightroom. Save changes to disk? ">"Save ".

When one or more of the nine images are selected and you press command-S, a progress bar displays momentarily ending in "Task completed" and the badge disappears. However, after 1 to 3 seconds, it reappears.

Background: after scanning 157 photos and import into LR, typical changes have been applied crop, adjust WB, minor, restoration, etc. All files have been exported successfully as jpg and TIFF. However, after selection of the and pressing Command + S, nine images will continue to display the pictogram "metadata was changed in LR. The images were scanned over a period of several days, and nine odd are scattered through. They have no obvious common features.

I don't automatically write changes to XMP, but use instead the command-S. The verification of the integrity of the catalog has been executed several times without any reported problems.

Uses a Mac Pro w/4 GB and lots of storage, OS X 10.5.7 and LR 2.4. Newbie on Mac but inspected the permissions of files and they seem to be in order.

This behavior does not occur on four other LR catalogs.

    Would appreciate assistance. Thank you

    Doug

Try to import the files from the copy in the catalog and then copy/paste the metadata from the original to the copy. When it is finished, remove the problem of catalog and then make a folder to synchronize (menu library) to reimport them. He will lose the existing metadata, but you can copy and paste copies to originals.
