  I understand that you are having problems with the battery level indicator on your laptop.

  Try the following:

  1. Press Windows key + R
  2. Type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK
  3. Expand the section battery
  4. Right-click on the compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery
  5. Select uninstall
  6. Restart the PC

  Try the following:

  • Remove the CMOS battery will define just all the bios to default settings including the date and time. Nothing to do with windows is affected
  • Try to remove the battery and Charger/AC adapter / power cord to your laptop, press on and press and hold power for 20 seconds to discharge any residual current inside the laptop.   It gets really frustrating and remove my ability to use the macbook pro retina as a truly portable device...
