The bookmarks bar shows nothing.

I can't get anything on the bookmarks bar, despite the fact that, under the 'Favorites' menu the bookmarks bar folder is full. I've recently upgraded to Firefox 4, but it happened before that I did, and the upgrade did not help. All I get is an empty bar, and I can't drag something new on it.

Make sure you always have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" on the personal bar

If the menu bar is hidden, then press F10, or press and hold the ALT key, which should make the "menu bar" appear

Make sure you have the 'personal bar' visible: "view > toolbars".

  • Check in "view > toolbars > customize" "Bookmarks Toolbar items" are on the personal bar
  • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then get it back from the window Customize on the bookmarks toolbar
  • If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" then click on the button "Restore Default Set"

I just chose a folder of bookmarks (to fall to the bottom of the list of contents bookmarks) on the bookmarks bar. While scrolling to the bottom of the list to make a specific selection, my finger slipped the mouse.

Now this very 'critical folder of bookmarks' is not in the toolbar, and I was not able to locate its content anywhere in the expansion of details of bookmark.

There was no warning or bookmark delete messages, the entire bookmarks folder disappeared without a trace.

Why it never moved and more importantly, does Firefox keep backups bookmarks?

How could I recover the folder of bookmarks disappeared? And do not claim by using a backup. The last system backup prior to the latest changes to this missing bookmarks folder.

  • In FF 25 on XP there was a star to the left of the navigation bar to open the bookmarks bar, now he is on the right, but does not open the box - what's up?

I want this little star back that opens the bookmarks bar. It's just to the left of the field address on XP in FP 25. But Windows 8 in FP 25.0.1 is not there. Instead, there is a star that sometimes appears on the right side of the address bar. But the star on the right does not open the bookmarks bar. It shows only a list of bookmarks and options, which do not include the opening of the sidebar.

  • Move the bar on the bookmarks bar

I wonder if it is possible to move the menu bar of the bookmarks bar, or if need is, move all items from bookmarks to the menu bar bar and then drag the menu on the tabs bar.

There was once an add-on called "Interface user fix" that allow me to do that, but with the new 29 of Firefox, it's now impossible and the "Restorer of classic theme" does not grant this specific feature.
