  Yes, you can do the conversion... just be careful to not change its value or to complete something you need in the conversion process.

  Since the block diagram, range of functions-> programming-> Digital-> Conversion

  Try the I16 or the FXP. The I16 is a direct conversion, so you can't really control how it gets converted. The FXP you can right click and select properties to make the conversions.

  If all else fails, you can do the U16 to binary to FXP to I16. It may be the long way to get there, but it should work.

  Hey gurus of LabVIEW,.

  I'm trying to sign extend a string of 24 bits for an I32. For example, F0F0F0 (111100001111000011110000) would need one extra byte 1 appended to the left to produce FFF0F0F0 (11111111111100001111000011110000) and 333333 (001100110011001100110011) would become (00000000001100110011001100110011). I'm surprised there is no more examples of extension of sign in this forum, but maybe that's because it's too simple!

  I think I found a good example relevant here, but I can't understand how recreating the constant gray - I don't know what it means the constant/cable grey. I use LabVIEW 2012, so I'm not able to deposit in my block diagram. Although I doubt that it will be useful, I have attached a .vi with my various attempts, of which most are based on the code, I found on the forum.   Close to there. If you start with the data contained in the low bits, first multiply by 2 ^ 8 (to represent the high 24 bits data), then by 2 ^-8.

• Bad Partition on external hard drive: format the bad Partition or format the entire disk?

  I am confused how to proceed.

  I have an external hard drive 3 TB with partitions (3). One of the parititons cannot be verified. I saved the partition and tried to repair disk. Repair disk failed and invited me to reformat the hard drive.

  How can I reformat the partition without affecting other partitions (2) good bad?

  Or do I have to save all the external drive (all 3 partitions) and then to reformat all the external drive?

  I was wondering if it was possible to add a substitution string to an application on a different environment without having to export the entire application.

  I use export by component a lot, but now I have a small update a page and a substitution string (specified in the Application definition).

  I have to get this update to another copy of our application, without the substitution of the entire application.

  With a full export, I noticed that the wwv_flow_api.create_flow function is called that has a lot of parameters and substitution strings:

  p_substitution_string_18 = > 'TEST ',.

  p_substitution_value_18 = > ' < img src = "" & test.png "title ="test"/ >".

  There is another function that can add them separately? Or I can insert them with a statement on a table?

  Hope someone can shine some light on this case, so I know how to export more different components.

  PS: I use apex 4.2 with 11g, but I don't think that what really matters on this case.

  The substitution variables are found in the wwv_flows table and run from 01-20, you have to identify you with the user/schema of APEX_040200...

  Select substitution_string_01, substitution_value_01 from wwv_flows where id = 101;

  You can create a rectangle the size of the work and the object > crop area > make, then save for Web.

• calibrate the values of 12-bit ADC

  I'd like to understand how to convert integer values of a 12-bit ADC in tensions. I use a box NI USB-6008 in differential input mode. It is 12 bits of resolution in differential mode.  I use a simple VI to collect 100 samples of the differential analog input voltage 0 (AI0).  When I connect AI0 + and -AI0, the tension between them must be zero.  When I traced the number returned by the routine of the CQI data, I see-32768 values most of the time over a few jumps to + 32752.  When to convert format I16 U16 format numbers. I see values ot + 32 768 for the most part, as well as a few jumps to + 32752.See attached shot of front block diagram of the display panel.

  Looks like Labview add 4 zeros at the end of the right hand of the binary number 12 bit returned by CDA.  Is there a simple way to make ADC return numbers like 0, + 1, -1, when the voltage is about zero?  I could do the following:

  1 convert the values returned by the ADC since I16 to U16.

  2 divide by 16.

  3 subtract 2048.

  I teach students about the basics of analog digital conversion, and I don't want to have to explain this clumsy scheme, if I can avoid it.

  Looks like you've discovered the complement representation two that LabVIEW uses to represent signed integers. Not adjusted data are drawn directly on the hardware registers and are represented as they are on the unit.

  If you want to convert the values, you can convert as you have indicated. You can also take the opportunity to explain the complement to two of them if it's as part of your course, or you can just put the arithmetic in a VI if you want to hide.

  If you look at the unsigned values, you could also explain to them that it is in the voltage range, the value is.

  For example, 16-bit unsigned gives a range of 0-65535. If you have selected the voltage range is-10 to + 10 v. If you have 0V, so you should expect a reading around 32768.

  Here is a quick sketch. I'm sure that some of the regex wizards will come back with something more simple.

  He needs some work still. For example, if the value is zero or negative, or if the Exhibitor resulting is more than 2 digits, you must also further handling. I am dealing with negative exponents that are more than 1 digit (i.e. 2 digits, including the sign).
