    Hi Elainesanness,

You can first try to see if when you go on the keyboard on screen (start--> all programs--> accessories--> easy access--> keyboard to the screen) if the symbols are showing on this keyboard. If they aren't, then there may be a software that has been associated with your keyboard so you can use these keyboard shortcuts. You may need to reinstall the software. If you have misplaced the disk you can go to the manufacturer's website and they will normally have the software/drivers to allow it to start working again.

Also when he has this started happening? There was new installed software that could have come into conflict with that?

  • Replace the missing paragraph Euro symbol

    Hi guys,.

For a report, I have to use a specific font which is a bit old and isn't the EURO symbol. I get the missing symbol 'rose' and it's too much time to change one by one to 40 pages. How can I replace just the specific symbol with a different font. I tried searching for text, but in fact there is no missing font is just a character 'in' this font.

    Any help or ideas?

    Thank you!

You want to use the glyph of edition tab > find/replace dialog box.

The following illustration shows what I've done. I took a text block in PostScript Type 1 old Melior font containing a glyph in the position of the Euro character. (I had copied the text of a font OpenType that contains the Euro character and applied the Melior police.)

Now, the character appears in pink did yours. Select the character of rose and the copy.

Enter the name of your font at the top and stick the pink character, as shown. Select the GID/CID since your police is not Unicode.

Choose a Unicode (like Adobe Minion Pro) font as font substitution. In the change glyph open the glyphs Panel menu, select Show: money to find the Euro glyph. He appears as shown.

Use the command find/replace to replace the character.

  • Wrongly Euro symbols stored in the WE8IOS8895P1 database

    Oracle support document 341676.1 says:
to 8i default NLS_LANG to an installation of windows (!) client has been
WE8IOS8895P1, which is actually incorrect, the correct value is WE8MSWIN1252.
Because of this old bug, we have an old 9.2.0.8 database running with the WE8IOS8895P1 character set, where the Euro symbol is stored as ASCII 128 in some 12,000 records even if this symbol is not taken in charge by the character set. It was no problem as long as all the customers used the NLS_LANG evil as mentioned in the aforementioned document. We now want to migrate to 11.1.0.7 with the WE8MSWIN1252 character set by using import/export. Customers will be updated as well.
After importation, the code for the changes of the Euro-symboles in 191 ASCII which is the code for a reverse questionmark. As WE8MSWIN1252 is a superset of WE8IOS8895P1 are there opportunities to keep ASCII 128 symbols not supported with import/export, because in a WE8MSWIN1252 database, they would be quite right?

    You could turn the former first base of characterset WE8ISO8859P1 to WE8MSWIN1252 before export, use ALTER DATABASE [db_name] CHARACTER SET new_character_set;

Otherwise you should set NLS_LANG to export and import WE8ISO8859P1, which makes the im - and export use the original settings. After import on the NLS_LANG WE8MSWIN1252 and it should work.

  • Keyboard US and Euro symbols (without using configuration we International)

    Hello
I just got a laptop with a keyboard layout of the US, but there also an Alt Gr key and the symbol of the Euro on the number 5 key. On my previous (layout UK) keyboard, typing Alt GR + 5 would be the Euro symbol. The problem I have is that I can only do that if I choose to "Us International" keyboard in Windows 7. Choose normal 'US' layout results in the above key combination does not. I wonder if there is a way for me to change/edit/add a mapping keys specific to the keyboard layout of the 'US' so that I can type the Euro symbol using Alt Gr + 5.

I don't want to use the United States - International layout, as it has all kinds of strange combinations of keys to produce special characters and they get in the way with symbols normal while programming (e.g. from the double quotes, etc.).

    Thank you
    Joe

If you want to then try to contact any manufacturer of keyboard and do so because practically it is very tactile and has from now on none who would have tried.

  • Impossible to type the 'euro' using 'Alt Gr + e' secret key (AZERTY French keyboard)

Hello and seasons greetings! We have just received a new laptop DELL Alienware M17 X with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and a language french keyboard "AZERTY". The 'euro' symbol' is supposed to be obtained by typing 'Alt Gr + e'. It is impossible to activate it, regardless of the app in action, such as Word 2007 or Excel 2007. But we can get it - and print - by typing the ASCII code wich is "Alt + 0128. DELL support does not know how to solve the problem and you suggest to format the computer! Anyone have another simple solution more? Thank you very much.

Can you check something: right-click on the FR in the language bar on the taskbar > settings > keyboard is mentioned in Installed services?

You have probably a French with a French keyboard (is it?), so everything should be OK...

    but it is not so...

Your Alt Gr works in general (for example, you can press on Alt Gr + ' to get {})? Only this combination Alt Gr + E is not functional, right?

Some third party software may harm using this keyboard shortcut. You have software preinstalled with your laptop that runs in the background and can use Rigth Alt + E for its own purposes?

    ...

Another thing: Press Start > type in the keyboard an on-screen search box and press enter (you will get the keyboard screen) > press ALT GR and see how the keys of your on-screen keyboard have been changed. Do you see where it suppose to be the euro symbol it?

  • The euro with US7ASCII character

    Hello

We use Java based Web application with characterset configuration below.

    Client Machine OS: Windows
    Configuration of browser Character Encoding: ISO-8859-P1 (http-equiv = "content-type" content = text/html"; charset = iso-8859-1")
: JDBC Oracle JDBC Thin Type (ojdbc14.jar is, classes12.jar) customer 10.2.04
    Oracle DB character set: US7ASCII

When we try to add the Euro character, it's get inserted into DB correctly (Hex: 80) and is displayed correctly in the browser too.

I know that euro is not part of the game of chariot of US7ASCII. I want to understand

How the AMP scenario happens here?
ISO-8859-P1 shows how the Euro symbol on the browser?

    Thanks in advance,

    Thank you
    Dan

It is a combination of the following three:

    1. HTML browsers usually try to do their best to properly view the Web sites created by people not following the standards required. ISO-8859-1 was historically considered the encoding of characters in the United States and Western European Windows workstations. It was not correct for a long time, that Microsoft has expanded the ISO code page and created the so-called MS Code Page 1252 (windows-1252). Try to browsers correctly display pages that include Windows-specific characters dealing with pages such as windows-1252, even if they are defined as iso-8859-1.

    2. for reasons of performance, Oracle JDBC Thin uses simplified conversion of Unicode UTF - 16 in US7ASCII simply ignoring the high byte of each double-byte code. This allows these bytes as 0 x 80 to participate in the database. In one of the new versions of JDBC, we intend to introduce a flag to force the conversion through standard path, so that the replacement characters are used as in the case of OIC.

    3. as the HTML pages are marked as iso-8859-1 and not windows-1252, code 0 x 80 coming from the browser is not correctly converted to Java UTF-16. The code must be converted to U + 20AC, but it seems to be converted to U + 0080.

  • How to make the chord symbols a sheet/get lead to show above a melody?

    Hello

Does anyone know how to make a sheet of lead in logic?  How do you get the chord symbols appear above the melody?

    Thank you!

To change a sheet of lead. Change the personal style of what you have to "lead sheet"...

    For agreements.

Select the agreements in the area of the part and drag the object to the rope over the first note you want agreements associated with and type the name of the string. You can press return, then drag over another, etc, etc...

    or

You can drag onto the first and rather type the tab key to move to the next beat, tab again to move to the next beat, etc. and where you want a rope just tap into it and when finished press tab to continue forward beat by beat... See quick example below...
