The execution of a command shell using vmware cli

Is it possible to execute a command using vmware cli? I want to

1 download a script on the server esxi - sharp put

2. run and it would create results. - ?

3 download results - lively get

As demonstrated above, part 2 is not clear how. My guess is that, because of the security, it will be possible. But I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Let me know if you know a way out using the cli or other alternatives.

To achieve #2 I can think of a few things, most are quite hack-ish, however:

1. you can use plink.exe or another automateable ssh client to connect to the host and run the script.

2. use vivid for tΘlΘcharger the/var/spool/cron/crontabs/root crontab file, change it to run the script and download it again

3. it is a non supported VIB that adds arbitrary execution of shell to esxcli:

    This command link disappears when the printable version is a show in a new tab.

    I know it's the behavior of default ADF print that he failed command buttons, dat

    You can try adding another (for example, af:outputText) to the column (in collaboration with the link) and set the rendered attribute

    rendered="#{adfFacesContext.outputMode eq 'printable'}"

    then (in theory) the outputtext only gets made if you return the printable page.

  • In the execution of external commands stderr seems to get lost

    After some initial confusion, I discovered that when you run external programs, only the file stream 1 (STDOUT) is captured in the command.output method. Unfortunately, there is no handle error and redirect does not seem to work either (for example command arg1 parm - 2 > & 1).

    What I have to write wrappers of bash to redirect stderr, or is there a way to recover from the result object?

    It is on linux (the vCO device), and I ended up doing pretty well I wrote a wrapper that calls bash and runs $@ 2 > & 1.

    For example:

    #! / bin/bash

    ARG = $@.

    $CMD $ARG 2 > & 1

  • Can not power on VM after restore acronis backup using VMWare Converter

    I've restored a VM for VSPhere 5.1 using acronis backup VMWare Converter. The conversion completed successfully, but the virtual machine does not start and I get the following error message. Any guidance is appreciated

    An error was received from the ESX host turning on VM Testdns.

    Unable to start the virtual machine.

    Power DevicePowerOn module has failed.

    Unable to create the virtual SCSI device for scsi0:0, ' / vmfs/volumes/deb7682b-d932a578/DNS Test/Testdns/Testdns.vmdk'

    Could not open scsi0:0 disc: disc not supported or not valid type 7. Ensure that the disk has been imported.

    Indeed IT loks like a problem with the used file format (twoGbMaxExtentSparse) hard which is no more supported with ESXi. Your options are either convert virtual disks using the command-line vmkfstools on the ESXi host (in this case, you must load the VMkernel multiextent module) or by downloading the hard files and convert them using vmware-vdiskmanager command-line utility. Another option is to download the virtual machine on a local system, and then use VMware Converter to convert to the ESXi host.

  • Can't manually type us the commands within the execution block?

    11.2.0.3/Linux

    I was doing a RMAN restore to a new server.

    Here's the code I wanted to run to restore
    run
     {
     SET NEWNAME FOR DATABASE TO '/fnup/hwrc/oradata/spikey';
     restore database  ;
     }
    Because it's just 2 lines in an execution block, so I thought to type manually. After typing the first line (SET NEW NAME..) that ends with a semi colon, I pressed the ENTER key so that the following line, and then type the RESTORE command. But I got the following error message.

    Finally, I had to put the 2 lines above into a script and run using the cmdfile parameter. Can we execute RMAN commands in an execution only block via a script?

    The VALUE of NEWNAME should be included in the execution block. In your case, you must divide the NEWNAME the NEW NAMEkeyword.

    new name for the database to ' / UNPF/Edda/oradata/spikey. "

    You must use the command in the execution below block

    the value of newname for database to "/ UNPF/Edda/oradata/spikey."

  • Hosts the naming - how to use VMware name instead of file name

    Please see attached file.

    All hosts based on the same models appear under the same name in hosts. Is it possible to configure vFoglight to extract the vCenter appoint to the host instead of using the file name of the VMware disk for guests of actual spending?

    You are looking in the wrong place in the object model.

    Machine virtual VMWare is an extension of the host object model.  Think of the host as the base model by the dealer and the virtual machine as the base model with all the bells and whistles added to make a street racer.

    If you enter a virtual machine name in the top search bar, you will see that the returned results include objects of different types, probably a Machine virtual VMWare and a host.  Select the virtual machine VMWare will take you to the model object VMWare-specific screens.  Similar results for HyperV, etc..

    There is always a host record for each virtual machine, just as each car factory has the model of base somewhere.  He just won't have all the bells and whistles.

    Looking at your attachment, I think that what you see on the dashboard can be what you see in Virtual Center.  Virtual machines have a name that appears on the list of the Virtual Center, which can be separated from the real name assigned to the VM inside the operating system.  If you fix the naming in VC, I think you will find that the correction automatically flows to vFoglight.

  • Download the OPA cloud policy template by using the command line

    Hi OPA developers,.

    Our project aims to automate the migration process models of political Test for Production environment. We use the OPA Cloud Aug2015, but if I understand correctly, we can enter the private cloud installation command-line tool and also run in the cloud.

    So, I downloaded the private cloud, edited the admin.cmd file to indicate download_project and provided the parameters and ran the command line.  However he just kept running and running for more than 15 minutes already, so I closed thinking that there is something wrong.  The zip file I download is only 800ko in size.

    Has anyone been able to use this feature from command line?  Please tell us what I have missed.  (Is there a specific place to save the file admin.cmd to ? Is it supposed to take a long time to complete)

    It comes to the command line, I used:

    " admin.cmd download_deployment - huburl = ' https://ProjectName.custhelp.com/OPA-hub "- hubuser ="HubLogin"- hubpass ="HubPassword"- deployname ="ProjectName"- version = 20 - deployzip="/projects/ProjectName.zip '

    Thank you very much!!

    You must run the admin.cmd from its original location in the private cloud installation bin directory, but you should immediately get an error if you run it from elsewhere.

    I'm not sure what you mean when you say you "edited the admin.cmd file to indicate download_project and provided the parameters" you should not have to modify this file, just run it with the required parameters as you describe.

    Can you watch the OPA hub management console and see if there is something in the log messages can indicate what could go wrong.
