the fall of facetime iPhone audio connections

I use FaceTime audio every day when I go out on a walk. I have a plan of reliable data and at home, I have good WiFi. With a particular friend, our audio FaceTime calls are constantly being disconnected. Sometimes if you wait a minute, we get this back, and other times it takes remember. We have both an iPhone 6s more though, when I was at home WiFi, I went to my old iPhone 5 s to see if that makes a difference, and it didn't. I can be walking home with WiFi or with data and we dropped calls constantly lately. For the most part, it is usually at home with WiFi but I think it happened with his data being also. When I talk to other people using audio FaceTime, it usually works very well even if I knew some dropped with other calls, but not as often as with the only friend. I don't understand.

Hi Linda,

Thanks for stopping by the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you have some connection problems with a friend more precisely using the function of audio calls from FaceTime on your 6s iPhone more. I'll be happy to provide additional troubleshooting options.

First, we're going to have, you and your friend (s) confirm that you have given cell phones enabled for the FaceTime app. To do this, go to settings > phone. Scroll down and find the FaceTime app in the section "use Cellular Data For". Make sure that the toggle switch is green.

From there, it would be beneficial reset the network settings on your device. This will not affect your personal data, but you have to reenter your passwords and Wi - Fi networks. To achieve this step, go to settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Once your device restarts, test FaceTime audio over Wi - Fi and cell to see if the problem persists.

As a last resort, you can create a backup of your iPhone and restore it back to factory settings. Who should install a new copy of iOS on your phone and help isolate potential software problems that could interfere with the audio FaceTime calls. Once you have tested your phone, you can restore the backup that you created. The following article contains information on how to accomplish the restoration:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

Have a fantastic day!
