Lenovo Z560 wireless card options

Does anyone know what wireless card options are allowed by Lenovo for the Z560? Mine came with a Broadcom 43XX I believe and I find that lack of performance compared to my previous Intel.

I believe that laptop manufacturers usually "lockout" in the bios be able to use all the wireless cards.

Is it possible to know if Lenovo is not doing this and what wifi cards are compatiable?

Thank you

    Hello

I am currently in China and surpisingly I have no WiFi in my hotel, but it has Ethernet so I got that going for me. That's why I found that Lenovo W540 is not a wireless card? I really don't know if call you it.

    So my questions are:

    Hello:

Looking at the list of the WiFi cards supported in the service manual for your laptop, none seems very promising.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03318732

If I had to take a chance on one, I'd go for this one...

    Broadcom 4313GN 1 × 1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 adapter 802.11b/g/n 20702 HP part # 657325-001

Change wireless laptop computers HP cards before 2014 can be a nightmare.

There is a BIOS whitelist, which prevents any wireless card not shown is not in the service manual for the work PC.

The PC does not even start until the wlan unsupported card is removed.

The next problem is that some of the numbers part contained in the maintenance manual is incorrect.

For example, the Intel 6230 registered has the wrong part # and no one knows which is the right one (or if the 6230 is even supported).

What I would do if I were you, would be to find an opportunity but tested and functional wlan on eBay card.

Query by part number and to control the image in the list to be sure see you the part number indicated on the white sticker entitled 'Replace with HP Spare'.

I see the Broadcom card I've referenced past as low as $4.35 + postage from Hong Kong.

They are a bit more expensive if you want one that is located in the USA.

    Hello

As far as I know that the wireless card is optional on this unit. This means you have the opportunity to upgrade the unit with the wireless Mini-PCI card. At the bottom of the unit, you will find a machine slot for this card.

Please visit this site to check what wireless card is compatible with your device:

  • Startup gets "Network cable unplugged" on mini-PCI Wireless card

I recently installed a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and now have intermittent problems connecting my Tecra 9100. If the 9100 has been off for awhile (like overnight), when I restart I get always "Network cable unplugged" for the wireless connection. Reboot several times (anything from 3 upwards) I finally get connected to the router and everything then works fine for hours. Even a quick restart at this point (that is, once that the wireless adapter is connected) does not cause a problem, but as soon as I leave the stop of the machine during a time he fails again on restart.

There are no errors in the event log.

I am using wireless mini-PCI cards and have already updated to the latest version of the driver.

Any ideas gratefully received, for now every morning is a 20 to 30 minutes of rebooting frustration trying to get my connection work.

    Hello

As far as I know, the unplugged network cable message just for LAN (Local Area connection-LAN) and not wireless.

If you want to check this map to disable LAN in Device Manager. After starting the laptop turn on the wireless card, check the status using the FN + F8 key combination. Wi - Fi is activated after a short time, you should be able to use your wireless network.

You can enable the option Show icon in notification area when connected. You can find it in the properties of wireless under the general tab.

  • Satellite P10-831 wireless card

    Hello!
I bought my Satellite P10 831, a year and I was very happy about it. But then I tried to use my wireless card (it is an Atheros I believe)...
The problem is that my computer can't even find the card. In the unit where everything is listed there is no wireless network card. If I try to install the driver on the CD from Toshiba says:
NG - driver was NOT updated!
(INF file may be incorrect or invalid)
    Failed installation
    Please help me!

    Hello bene

As far as I know Satellite P10 831 is just ready WLAN. This means that WLAN antenna is there, but you have to buy and built in wireless network card. If the card is not listed in Device Manager that it certainly isn't here.

If you want to check Toshiba page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com. Under the heading Products > Option & Accessories > Communications you will find a list with all wireless network cards. Check if some of them is compatible with your model of laptop.

If you need more help please write again.

    Good luck!

  • Equium L10: How to configure the wireless card to pick up the router?

Am wireless news and putting in place Broadband BT BT Voyager2091 router. Laptop wireless button in 'on', but is unable to connect or view available wireless networks. How to set up the portable integrated wireless card to pick up the router?

    Hello

First of all, I hope that your camera comes with the wireless network card and the wireless network adapter is listed in the device under network adapters Manager.

The card must be activated first with wireless switch that you can find on the front of your laptop near the lights on the system (right). When the adapter is enabled using FN F8 key combination to activate the card. When you use the FN keys in the middle of the screen, you will see a small window. When the FN button pressed constantly, whenever using the F8 key the different symbol will be chosen.

Go to START > Control Panel > network connections. Click with the right button on wireless network connection and choose Properties. Chose the WIRELESS NETWORKS, tab and activate the option called use Windows to set up?

At this point the available networks are listed. Select view wireless networks. If your WLAN is listed here you must configure the connection if the password is set.

    Try it!

    Hello gentle men.

I have a computer laptop satellite A10 has wireless network or not because there is a swich for it but I can't find the adapter in device manager?

    Help, please

    Hello

As far as I know that the wireless card is optional on some units of the A10.
In this case, the unit has been delivered without wireless Mini-PCI card, but it is possible to improve it.
Compatible wireless network card, you can order from the Toshiba service partner.

  • HP Pavilion DV7-1444us Replace wireless card

    Hi 393871345,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

This wireless problem could be caused by the failure of hardware or software. Now, you can go through the steps to exclude the possibilities of the cause.

    (1) not having this problem with the laptop before upgrading to Windows 8.1?

    (2) when you upgrade to 8.1 Windows, did you follow all of the HP and Windows updates?

To be able to test the unit itself, I suggest the document following "tests to material (Windows 7, Vista) failures. Please select the control using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFIoption and then select the option for the Component Tests. Under component Tests, you will see an option for the Wireless Module. The Wireless Module passes all the tests?

Now I'm longer lines that it is a software problem, compared to a hardware problem. After checking what Windows operating systems are supported by HP (on your laptop), the higher operating system that is supported, is Windows 7. As you have upgraded beyond this, you may be able to find the driver updated, you need the component manufacturer.

To find out the manufacturer of the wireless component, you can always check for the name of the manufacturer's Device Manager. Once you don't have the name, you can visit the Web site of the manufacturers for available updates.

Please let me know the results of the above steps.

I want to improve my wireless card, currently Intel Centrino N-1000, one with bluetooth. Do you happen to know which card will work?

I don't think that any card WiFi dual band (5 GHz) will work. The best option for you is Intel 1030. It's the same chip as the 1000 but combo with bluetooth. Reference number: 631956-001. This part number is indicated in the manual as Intel 6230.

  • What wireless card I have in my Satellite A40

    Hi all

    I got a Toshiba Satalite Pro A 40 a friend (PSA45E)

Windows XP has been pretty slow I decided to reinstall the OS and now have a problem to install the wireless card

For the moment, I have Windows XP (without Service Pack, which should be the first version that was on sale, I guess) but can't install the wireless network adapter

I tried several times to toggle the map with the FN key, but Windows does not. Also the Device Manager does not list any unknown device or wireless card. So I do not know who the card is now installed

I'm very sure I saw some SSID with the old windows before you install the new Windows

now I'm wondiring if I can download recovery CD from the WEB or find a free software that can read the material on a PC, even if the drivers are missing, to see if the card responds.

Also, I noticed that he was in the back of the computer laptop and the MAC on the network card on a sticker. Tosiba does not have a sticket with the WLAN MAC on the back?

Where would I be able to find a manual to physically locate the mini-pci card?

    Thank you
    Chris

    Hi Polly

I think you have the wrong of my knowledge the A40 Satellite Pro does not support the wireless network card. There is no installed wireless network card and that's why you find no WLan MAC address sticker at the bottom of the unit.

The Satellite Pro A40 can't be improved with a wireless network card internal minPCI because as much as I know the WLan antenna is not available.

If you want to use the Wlan then I would recommend as an external option, it could be an external USB WiFi key.

  • Satellite L655 sometimes does not recognize the wireless card

I have a L655. Most of the time it works perfectly fine. Sometimes when I turn on my computer, it does not recognize my wireless card. He considers that it is not at all.

The icon in the status bar says that there is no cable ethernet plugged in and nothing on the wireless.
Usually this icon is not present, and one for the wireless is (whether it is connected or not and if there are connections available or not). In the device manager there is nothing for the wireless card.

Under network card it has only ethernet. Its as if it does not exist.
Basically the way to solve this problem is by restarting simply my computer until he figures it.
Sometimes, it can take 5 or more times.

    Any help please?

    Hello

What satellite L655-xxx you have exactly?
As far as I know there are different models with different wireless network cards.

Your BIOS is up to date? Please check this box.

So now to a few proposals of solution:
First of all that I recommend to check if the update of the Wlan driver would improve the Wlan functionality.
In addition, you must deactivate the energy saving feature for Wlan in Device Manager and Windows 7 power options as well.

  • Tecra 9100 cann't find the internal wireless card

I have Tecra 9100. Recently he started to act strange. Sometimes (rarely), it cannot find its internal wireless card or / and hang (freeze). When I check the device manager card is simply not there. After the reboot, the map pops up sometimes, but not for long.
I checked the event viewer, but the only Error Message is:
    Source: Service Control Manager
    Event ID: 7000
Description: The OrangeWire USB enhanced host controller service could not start because of the following error: the specified driver is invalid.

2 USB ports are working perfect. What is the link between that message and the internal wireless card?
Any ideas how to fix? I'm with Windows XP SP2.
    Thank you.

I put t think the WiFi problem could be related to the USB enhanced host controller service. I don t see a consistency

You can try several steps; first try to install the latest driver WLan.
Access card WLan (device-> Properties Manager) properties, and then clear the option to save energy.
Additionally, you will find different option in the Advanced tab.
I can t Advisor was 100% what options need to be changed because each wireless network card supports different function.

Whatever the case the advice above will not help not I think there could be something wrong with the OS files or registry keys.
In this case, it would be very interesting to know if the installation of clean operating system might help.

  • Satellite L650 - 1 M 0: could not activate the new wireless card

    Hello

I replaced the wireless card in the laptop on WiFi + BT (Combo). New brand of laptop do not had favor of BT
Bluetooth and WiFi work correctly on the system drivers that the system itself.

The only problem with the new adapter is unable to activate or disable the network modules.
Since my laptop does not support default BT will automatically turn off the controller module.

WiFi must be turned off and as in the previous card - a function key. Unfortunately, wireless in the function bar option has disappeared, and the FN + F8 key combination does nothing. Responsible for the light WiFi is on all the time.

It is possible to activate the WiFi module as before?
    Very please help!

    The new network adapter: BCM94313HMGB

    Sorry for my bad English.
I used the Google Translator because I can't speak English. Only the Polish language ;)

    > Is it possible to activate the WiFi module as before?

You have replaced the WLan module, which means that the hardware configuration has been changed. This means that the different module has affected the functionality of the software.

The new WLan/BT BCM94313HMGB combo card seems to be designed by Broadcom.
Of my knowledge that supports most of the laptops Toshiba Intel / modules Realtek or Atheros. This is why I think there may be a compatibility problem between the FN key software and this module.

Maybe you can try to install the Broadcom driver once more to check if this can help, if not you will have to renounce that.
