The Favorites went in the download window Finder?

Hello

I do a lot of photo editing and saving the photos, etc. And I noticed that yesterday trying to save a picture and the pop than the 'Favorites' part Finder Windows is gone.

This also happens when I'm on Safari and try to download something, too. However, if I open a window in the Finder itself, they show. It's hard to explain, so here are a few screenshots...

The Finder of normal window (note with desktop, Applications, downloads, Favorites etc.):

Try to browse/save or load the window (it even happened here you try to download these screenshots!):

Anyone know what's happening offshore and how to recover? It was fine yesterday, and then last night just changed by itself. I'm puzzled!

Thanks in advance!

Lisa.

Bookmarks can be hidden or shown.

Launch the Finder in the Dock.

Move the mouse pointer the very right of the 'favourites' and hover.

The option 'Show' should appear.

Finder > Preferences > sidebar

Make sure that the items under Favorites are enabled.

  • The download window appears no information since the last update of Firefox

I had to create a new account to help just to get here.

Your navig was fucking up like crazy since the last update. I had nothing else to connection problems in several sites. Sites would connect at random, then I wouldn'; t be able to reconnect. I tried to make an account on a new site and had to try 11 times crazy until he has known. and just now, when I tried to ask a question of troubleshooting, my username and password would not work. So I sent a request for password reset. Nothing happened. I sent at least FIVE password reset requests. None of them went through. When I tried to enter a different user name, thinking maybe that was the problem, as soon as I re-typed and clicked any where outside the name space, he would return to the name that was already there. What the hell!

I didn't still the problem, I first want to contact you about!

The download window no longer works. I download a file, I click on "Downloads" to see how long it will be, I don't see anything. Gross, white, white. And Yes, I know that some files download so fast, they're gone until I open the window. I mean great videos megabytes and disc images. No indication that they are downloading at all.

All of this has happened since 19.0 installed. I need to disable the updates in the future to keep the browser working properly!

Well, I found out what was going on. It turns out it was a confrontation with an add-on after all:

    http://update.DownloadHelper.NET/index.html?TS=1361662188

So it makes sense why it persists even after reset and reinstalling. Sorry I lost all the time, but I enjoyed your trying to find solutions.

Although I hope that the problems I've had of logging in and out of sites disappear soon too.

  • How to view the downloads window in Mac 34.0.5

I just updated my Mac to 34.0.5 Firefox. In the previous version, I had used about: config for the browser.download.useToolkitUI set to true so that the old downloads window always out during downloads. Now, I find that setting is apparently is no longer respected? I tried setting it false, reboot, set to true, restart again. And the only answer to a download is still the annoying arrow right goes blue.

Is there a way to get the downloads window to get out in this new version?

This pref has been supported only for some versions of Firefox, and has no effect in current versions, so you can reset the pref to remove it in about: config on the next departure.

You will need to find an extension if you want a download manager which work differently then the version currently used.

  • Pause button in the download window disappeared

Don't know if it was v19 or v20, but recently, I realized that the download window shows more the pause during the download button is a file. There was formerly a pause button like a button to restart/try again. Now, there are only a stop (X) button.

I used the pause button quite often, so I was wondering why it wasn't there or if there was a way to get it back.

You can find suspend them and resume in the context menu of an item.

  • How to open the download window to the front

When I download a file, how can I do the download window automatically come to the front?

    Try the following.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
    2. Press the big button to ignore the warning.
    3. Set the value of the preference browser.download.manager.showWhenStarting to true
    4. Set the value of the preference browser.download.manager.focusWhenStarting to true
    5. Restart Firefox.

From 20 Firefox, downloads are displayed in a small panel connected to a navigation toolbar icon:

  • The download window is no longer saves a list but clears on the file to finish downloading

Before a recent update of Firefox, the download window stored and kept a list of each downloaded file (most recent at the top) and could not be allowed manually by clicking on the button 'Clear' lower left corner. Now the window always opens when a file starts to download, but as soon as the download is finished the window clears. It is impossible to click on download to find where the file has been saved. I don't the have not knowingly changed anything but would like advice on how I can restore the previous settings.

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "Use the custom settings for history" > "Remember download history.
    • Press F10, or press the Alt key to bring up the 'Menu Bar' temporarily if the menu bar is hidden.
    • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "tools > Options" If the menu bar is hidden.
  • When I download something on the Web, the "Downloads" window opens, but that the window remains empty. Before it used to show at least the name of the file and I was able to open the file in the "Downloads" window Is it possible to recover this feature?

I am running Windows XP that is updated to the latest version (which I think could be Service Pack 3, but not positive.) Mozilla Firefox is version 5.0. I tend to use Google as my search engine, so most of the stuff I download comes through sites found through Google, which is also updated.

At some point in the past (there are maybe a few versions) when I want to download a file from the Internet, the "downloads" window opens and in the window would display the name of the file I got was download or came from download. I think I used to be able to then click on the file name and opens the file (or the Setup file if necessary to launch the new program). I am currently using Firefox 5.0 (screen "On Firefox" said that it is up to date) and when I download a file or document, the "Downloads" window appears on the screen as it has always in the past, but it remains empty, that is, nothing is displayed in the download area. I don't remember to make configuration changes, etc., that may have caused the window to remain a Virgin, but I could be wrong. I know how to find the items I downloaded (My Documents / downloads) and can generally guess what might be the name of the downloaded file, but it was much easier when something (anything) appeared in the downloads window.

I'd like someone to tell me about a simple solution for this. I'm ready to be pretty embarrassed that I did something I should not have.

In the Firefox Options / confidentiality be sure 'Remember download history"is checked. To see all the options on this Panel, "Firefox will be" must be set to "use the custom settings for history".

  • Default display folder set to 'list' in the download window

Whenever I need to download an attachment of e-mail or other Internet sites (which I often do for my work), the default view for 'desktop' in the download window is on display large icons. No matter how many times I've changed manually this view 'list', it always comes back again next time I'm downloading something. I have been able to change all my other files on my entire computer to the list view, just not him 'Browse' to download windows when you try to recover a file from my office.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello

This is normal. Even if you have changed the display manually settings, it would always go back to its original settings when you download an attachment and this happens by default.

  • How can I get the download window to open while downloading, instead of simply the little icon?

It has been that the downloads window open up everything by downloading. Now all I get is the small arrow icon. It is too hard to see, I love the old-fashioned way. Is this possible?

You can open the downloads tab by pressing Ctrl + J

or you can use this addon:

  • How can I get rid of the sidebar in the downloads window?

Right now, I use Fedora 19 with Xfce 4.10 and 23 of Firefox on my laptop. When I download a file and look at the download window, it has a sidebar that I have no use for. I know it's possible to get rid of because it wasn't there until I upgraded from Fedora 17, and he's not here on my desk, which still has 22 of Firefox. It isn't an X to close, there is nothing about it in the preferences and if there is something about a: config, I have not spotted.

  • Download disappears from the download window after completion

When I download a file from the internet in Firfeox, download window stays open as soon as the download is finished, but the file name disappears from the window. In previous versions of Firefox downloaded file would remain visible in the download window after download was complete and I could simply click on the download window and open it. Now, because it disappears from the download window, I have to open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder that contains the newly downloaded file to open it, which is a pain. I activated the "remember my browsing and download history ' in the options as suggested in the previous answers to this question on the forum, but this makes no difference. Is it possible to make Firefox display the file in the download window after uploading?

  • How can I open the downloads window only? Or how can I close my browser and open the winodw downloads without an active download?

I have about a year of downloads to sift through and organize. It means I have many open files that I move the files to the appropriate locations. The last thing I need is to have unnecessarily the browser open between all this mess.

So... can I close my window of Firefox browser without the automatic reclosing also downloads window? Or better yet, is it possible to just open the downloads window and not the browser window?

Again, I want to ONLY THE DOWNLOADS WINDOW open, not the browser window. I see that others have asked similar questions, but no one has ever proposed a solution.

Avoid using the file > exit or the red X button. On the contrary: press Ctrl + j to display the downloads window, and then use Ctrl + w to close the last remaining tabs. The downloads window should remain open. A little luck?

  • What are the causes the download window is no longer the name of file

What is said. The file is downloading, but the name does not appear in the downloads window.

    See:

    • Tools > Options > privacy > History: "Remember download history.
  • FF ver 11.0; I have a download in the download window that is stuck on Pause and cannot get rid of it.

Downloading Sumatra PDF reader, I clicked on Pause. When you work on something else, my PC has restarted (WinXP). The download window continues to show download paused and I can't restart the download or cancel it. I can ignore it, of course, and will continue to do so if there is no easy solution.

Try to delete the downloads.sqlite (and downloads.rdf, if it exists) in the profile folder , the files will be regenerated when needed.
