    Suggestions for resolution?

Think I came up with my own solution:

    1. Download the full package from here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
    2. Create a new folder for me it's Firefox 25 install files
    3. Open the installer downloaded complete with 7-zip (right click on the file archive opened or 7-Zip in the menu open archive and navigate to where you downloaded the file to open it)
    4. Extract setup.exe and "Core" file above record made in step 2 (for example Firefox 25 install files)
    5. Then run setup.exe from the installation of FireFox 25 files.

While I understood this point, someone else in my situation can not find this message or understand it, but it's a method dirty to realize the installation.

  • I downloaded the installer of Firefox (Firefox Setup.exe), but it does not work.

However, having downloaded the installer, when I try to run Firefox Setup.exe after extraction, he asks me if I want to run as the current user or change users (the current user is an administrator) and under the option I select, when I click on Ok, the box disappears and nothing else happens.

I tried to download the installer again, but it's the same thing and I also tried to install an older version of Firefox, but exactly the same thing happens... I really hope someone can help! Thank you.

There is the chance that an add-on or plugin installed in Firefox is the origin of the problem. To learn, you can try the Mode without failure of Firefox.

Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables some settings and disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

(If you are using an additional theme, place you in default theme.)

(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

    Hello OrDave,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with Firefox 12.0 on Ubuntu, but I don't think that there is much to do since Adobe has decided to abandon the support for Linux platforms and soon, we will have to use alternatives such as Gnash and Lightspark opensource. You might want to try removing it from the software center and perhaps reinstall it from the Adobe Web site (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/).
If you need additional support, thanks for posting for help on the Ubuntu forums as they will be able to help you still more. You can also join the Ubuntu IRC or ask for help at askubuntu.com.

Thank you for your patience and for your interest in Mozilla Firefox and I wish you luck in resolving this issue. Please mark my answer as a solution if it was helpful and have a great day!

  • On the installation of Firefox security alert - can't fix

During the installation, I get this alert
"Could not initialize component of application security. The most likely cause is problems with the files in the directory of the profile of your application. Please check that this directory has no restriction of read/write and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and correct the problem. I tried to check the directory and I can say that nothing is defined as read-only - if I'm a new MAC users, so not an expert. »

Not a MAC expert, although I checked all files in what I think is the right directory, none were read-only. Had an old version of FireFox installed at some point given, but deleted from the application directory.
    Any suggestions?

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file

Rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) in the Firefox profile folder in case there is a problem with the file.

You may need to rename cert8.db (cert8.db.old) as well.

    Firefox will create new files.

The cert8.db file stores the user certificate and intermediate certificates sent by Web sites, so if you have certificates you want to keep, then you can now export and import after removing cert8.db.

    See:

    • Tools > Options > advanced > encryption: certificates: display certificates

If it works, then you can delete the renamed files or undo the changes if you want to revert the process.
