I have a HP Pavilion a1615.uk (RF783AA) and I want to upgrade the hardware so I can install a 64-bit operating system. What should I do to make a 64-bit system? It is an upgrade of the bios or it means new equipment?
Thank you very much
Mrsbex
Hello
Normally, for modern machines we only need the 64 bit operating system itself and the drivers appropriate to go with it. There is no need to upgrade the hardware except we may want more RAM to use the 64 bit OS.
In your case, the machine is too old, my suggestion is to buy a new machine. In the long run, can be cheaper than buying part and piece of component to upgrade the existing.
Kind regards

Discover the composer 2.7 on 64-bit operating system
We are looking at upgrading to 5.0 view and currently have vCentre and composer running on the Windows Server 2003 (64-bit). The documentation for Composer 2.7 says specifly Windows 2008 R2. vCentre 5.0 will work on any 64-bit operating system, so it is possible to operate the composer 2.7 on all 64-bit Windows operating systems?
If this isn't the case, then we will have to build a new Server 2008 R2 vCentre and composer and perform a migration instead of simply upgrading the existing platform.
+ 1 on skg.
Go with 2008 R2, as soon as you call Vmware to support you'll find their lack if you don't follow their guidelines. Could do you? Probably, but if you do? N °

How to determine the number XP or XP 64-bit operating systems.
Hello
I need to download a driver but need to know if I have Windows XP, XP 64. I run Internet 7 SP3 if that makes a difference. Properties-General-he reads the slot system Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I think this answers the question that it is not XP 64 but want to make sure and would appreciate any help.XP Home does not come as an x 64 version.
How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or the 64 bit version of the Windows operating system. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/827218
Windows XP if you have Windows XP, there are two ways to determine if you are running 32-bit or a 64-bit version. If one does not work, try the other.
- Click Startand then click run.
- Type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
- Click the general tab. The operating system is displayed as follows:
- For a 64-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional x 64 edition Version < year=""> appears under System.
- For a 32-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional Version
appears under System.
Note
is a placeholder for a year.
- Click Startand then click run.
- Type winmsd.exe, and then click OK.
- When System summary is selected in the navigation pane, search for processor under item in the details pane. Note the value.
- If the value that corresponds to processor starts with x 86, the computer is running a 32-bit version of Windows.
- If the value that corresponds to processor starts with ia64 or AMD64, the computer is running a 64-bit version of Windows.
If you cannot determine the number of bits of the operating system with these methods, go to the "Next steps" section (of the KB article)

Destination does not support 64-bit operating system
I'm trying to P2V a platform Server 2008 R2 64-bit and vCenter Converter says that the destination does not support 64-bit operating systems. Why is this? All hosts in my cluster are 64 bit... my NAS is a 64-bit platform... even my machine management running vsphere is 64-bit.
Thanks in advance.

downloaded updates for 64-bit os when I have the 32-bit operating system
About 2 months ago, I downloaded some updates for vista 64-bit os when I use the 32-bit operating system and he did something, I believe, my registry. Now I have problems with my updates. Do you have any solutions?
Hi batoutaaustin22,
Thank you for using answers Forum.
I suggest using the System File Checker to search for 64-bit updates files were damaged.
The System File Checker tool
To determine if the problem you are experiencing is caused by one or more system files that are used by Windows Vista, run the System File Checker tool. The System File Checker tool analyzes the system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search .
2 right-click cmd in the programs list and then click run as administrator .
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue
3. at the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
Please let us know if that helps.

Update Windows 7 starter edition to the 32-bit operating system to 64-bit?
Hello people of the Internet,.
I got a netbook for two years now and it came with Windows 7 starter.I like making videos in my spare time and require better editing in Windows Movie Maker software. However, obviously my operating system cannot manage a software proffesional like Premiere Pro or FinalCut etc so I tried to get a 64-bit operating system. Is this possible? I checked on my performance and Information Tools, and it said that my netbook is capable of a 64-bit operating system. Someone did he do and recommend? Or is it not plausible at all?All tips are welcome, I would rather you smart people tell me that it is rather than risk and regret. Thank you for your time.-EmiTo be honest, I wouldn't consider running under Windows 7 64-bit on a system originally shipped with Windows 7 Starter. A Netbook is just for the weak to run Adobe Premier. (By the way, Final Cut Pro doesn't work on Intel based Macintosh under OS X, it is not compatible with Windows).
You need a powerful computer or laptop desktop replacement.
Personally, I use Adobe Creative Suite 6 on HP's EliteBook with Ivy Bridge generation processor 3, NVidia Quadro 2 GB of vRAM, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, USB 3.0 Super Speed and sometimes he struggles.
Now, imagine a Netbook designed for light web browsing, word processing and e-mail?
You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.
Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.
Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

LabWindows 4.0 is compatible with the 64-bit operating system?
I have a very old code CVI for PCI 6030th, who works on a 32-bit windows xp computer. The PCI card has been installed recently on a new computer that has a 64-bit windows 7 on it. The code does not work on the new pc. I was told that 6030th PCI can be performed by a virtual pc, so the only option would be to partition the HARD drive and install windows xp. CVI 4.0 code runs on a 64-bit operating system? I guess that the drivers may not be compatible. If not, is there a way to run the old code on a new version of labwindows cvi without having to rewrite it completely?
Thank you!
Sikora
Hi Sikora,
I don't think you'll be in too much luck. I'm assuming that your code has probably been covering on your PCI device 6030th using traditional DAQ, which is not supported on the operating systems Windows 7. You might go to NOR-DAQmx 9.1.1, that is supported on Windows 7, but this will require you to rewrite your code to convert into orders DAQmx.
Kind regards
Jackie

There are video games that are compatible with windows 7 64 bit operating systems?
Hello Peter.
Yes almost all games in 10 years works perfectly on 64-bit Windows. What Call of Duty games are you having problems with? If the first two, you might have to enter the video drivers for your graphics card/computer manufacturer as the first two required OpenGL which is not included with the drivers that Windows uses by default (this has been the case since at least Windows XP).

How can I check if I have a 32 or 64-bit processor? Compatible with the 32 bit processor 64 bit operating system?
operating system 64-bit to 32-bit operating system, it's because the processor went from 32 bit to 64 bit?
I know that 64-bit is faster and more efficient than the 32-bit processor, but why os 32/64 bit too? OS working elbow-to-elbow with processors?
Could someone explain a little bit. I so want to know. Thank you

(1) If you have an Intel processor, check here: http://ark.intel.com/ (all news are 64-bit, but many in the pentium and celeron series are not)
No matter what AMD processor once sempron will be 64-bit.(2) No. 32-bit operating systems were once popular is that 32-bit processors cannot run 64-bit operating systems (although the 64-bit processors can run 32-bit operating systems.
(3) see above. The only drawback to a 32 bit OS is that you can not use more than 3.3 GB of RAM, or to run 64-bit applications.

No, you must have the hardware that will run in 64-bit, and then you install 64-bit Windows.
