Update Windows 7 starter edition to the 32-bit operating system to 64-bit?

Hello people of the Internet,.

I got a netbook for two years now and it came with Windows 7 starter.
I like making videos in my spare time and require better editing in Windows Movie Maker software. However, obviously my operating system cannot manage a software proffesional like Premiere Pro or FinalCut etc so I tried to get a 64-bit operating system.
Is this possible? I checked on my performance and Information Tools, and it said that my netbook is capable of a 64-bit operating system. Someone did he do and recommend? Or is it not plausible at all?
All tips are welcome, I would rather you smart people tell me that it is rather than risk and regret. Thank you for your time.

To be honest, I wouldn't consider running under Windows 7 64-bit on a system originally shipped with Windows 7 Starter. A Netbook is just for the weak to run Adobe Premier. (By the way, Final Cut Pro doesn't work on Intel based Macintosh under OS X, it is not compatible with Windows).

You need a powerful computer or laptop desktop replacement.

Personally, I use Adobe Creative Suite 6 on HP's EliteBook with Ivy Bridge generation processor 3, NVidia Quadro 2 GB of vRAM, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, USB 3.0 Super Speed and sometimes he struggles.

Now, imagine a Netbook designed for light web browsing, word processing and e-mail?

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

If you purchased Word on CD, it's no big deal; just reinstall it after the factory restore. If it was bought online, copy the file downloaded to a CD and then reinstall it later.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. Hello

Just to clarify things a little.

Originally, very early in the beta version of Windows 7 (Jan/Feb 2009), Microsoft drew the Windows 7 Starter edition for new markets the technology like Windows XP Starter and Windows Vista starter editions have been designed. It was OEM that pushed Microsoft companies to make the Windows 7 Starter edition available for OEM Netbook market.

Microsoft responded by the Starter edition available for OEMs and replaced by the basic edition of Windows 7 Home Edition for emerging technology markets. The restrictions contained in the Starter edition were well known and announced at least 6 months.

You can upgrade the Windows 7 Starter to Home Premium edition for about 80 USD, using Windows Anytime Upgrade.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello.

I have serious problems with the installation of .NET Framework 3.5.1 security update on my Asus Eee PC 901 running Windows 7 Starter edition.

Whenever I try to install it, I get error 80070BC9. I tried to repair Windows Update, but it does not help.

In some forums on the Internet, it is suggested to turn off .NET Framework 3.5.1 in Windows 7, but it is not possible to do this on Windows 7 Starter, given that this option is available in the Windows features.

It's even more annoying because Windows will continue to try to install this update several times, every time I start the computer.

  • Windows 7 Starter Edition and LabWindows/CVI

    Hello

I have two questions/problems with an application written with CVI 9.0.1 and CVI 2009 respectively Windows Vista professional.

First if I have a distribution of my software package (or a version of a sample distribution package) and you want to install it on a netbook with Windows 7 Starter Edition Setup displays the following error message:

"This product does not support Windows Starter Edition."

Is this just a restriction of the installation program, or CVI will never support the Starter Edition?

We often sell these netbooks as well as our units of measurement as an input/output device. But I think that in a future close all netbooks will use Windows 7 instead of XP and above all the Starter Edition.

So if it is not taken in charge this will help upgrade netbooks to Windows 7 Home Premium? I have already tested Windows 7 Professional and it works, but I do not want to install Professional on a netbook...

My second question also the Starter Edition.

I'm building a kit of distribution of working space example "interp.cws" (curve fit and Interpolation) with the runtime engine installed in the application directory. If I run the .msi instead of the setup.exe package then the software has been installed on the system.

So I can run the software, and it seems to work. But if the software calls a function in the library of analysis advanced (for example, the Spline Interpolation) it does not work. With remote debugging I discovered that there was a nonlethal runtime error "the analysis DLL library is not found or could not be loaded" during the spline function calls.

The same sample works fine with Windows 7 Professional.

Is this also a restriction of the CVI, and will be the reason (or one of the reasons) did not support the Starter Edition?

Or is there a workaround for these errors?

    Best regards

    M.S.

National Instruments supports Windows 7 Starter; However, just as now, our facilities are defined to stop any Windows Starter Edition is detected.  This is because XP and Vista Starter Editions were marketed to emerging markets and had severe limitations of performance.

You should make sure that your specific product supports Windows 7.  If this is the case you can follow the instructions in the knowledge base
