    Hello

    I have problem with my notebook Satellite P750 - 10 c with S/N: 4B478828K.
When I enabled AHCI in the BIOS, computer slows diametrically, day after day was worste and worste, so I tried to change from AHCI to IDE and it helped a little, but is still not good.

I tried to restore my system, but it did not help.
I read that Intel has released a version tapped for Sandy Bridge chipset, I have (HM65) SATA 3Gbs problem (I just checked in HD Tune and HARD drive is connected to the port of 3Gbs), so I think I got bugged version.

My laptop is not guaranteed, but Intel said they changed valid version, so where do I return my phone to fix.

    Kind regards
    Tomek

    > I read that Intel launched buggy version of the chipset for Sandy Bridge.
The problem was a Cougar Point of Sandy Bridge chipset and not the main processor Sandy Bridge.

In addition Intel said that this issue affected only the SATA 2 to 5 and not ports 0 and 1.
Most laptops use only two devices SATA (HDD/SSD and ODD) using the affected ports 0 and 1.
That is why I think that your problem could be linked to the issue of Cougar Point the Sandy Bridge chipset.

By the way: not all Intel Sandy Bridge chipsets have been affected.

    Regarding your question:
Usually if AHCI is enabled, the HARD drive must use the performance of SATA. If compatibility mode, the HARD drive would go at the speed of the IDE.
I think your problem is perhaps related to the problem drive HARD and not Intel problem.

  • one of the three internal hard drives slowing down

Everything was perfectly fine, I have three internal hard work led in may Mac pro early 2008, 10.10.5 yosemite OSX, 32 GB of ram, 128 GB SSD boot drive, a hitachi 1 TB and a 2 TB WD I bought 3 months ago. Suddenly a week ago that my 2 TB WD started working slowly, reading and writing time is too long for small amounts of data. Folder icons take the time of loading, and even if this isn't my boot drive, but its cause my very slow closing system. Other drives work perfectly well. I tried to repair the two partitions via disk utility, but nothing helped. The problem is that I can not change my project pro Prime Minister because that all files associated with the project are lying in this same WD drive files cache for After Effects and Premier Pro causing these applications run slowly. I'm working on a feature film project any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Probably the drive is a failure. When a disc is a failure it should read data multiple times to get a free reading of the error. That really slows thinks down I will quickly copy the data to another disk

  • Loss of disk space available every day as System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive

My PC is under Windows7 Home Premium... version 6.1... Build 7601... service pack 1.

I have a 1 TB hard drive... 3 weeks ago, I've had approximately 813 gb free space... now, I have only 603 gb of free space. I noticed that the folder System Volume Information is passed to 209,53 Go. Don't know why this issue became so great. I lost about 5 to 20 GB of free space on the hard disk every day.

The System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive... Users folder is 43.38 GB... Windows folder is 31.89 GB... WinSxS folder is 15,18 GB.

I installed a couple of applications in the last 6 months... Driver booster... Download App... and size of file.

I didn't save my PC in the last 3 weeks because of this problem.

The only application that I use for backup is MotoCast USB... it creates a backup of the SD card in my smartphone to my PC.  I've been backup card SD in my phone every 3-4 weeks for the past 2 years but never lost so much hard drive space until the last 3 weeks.

    Any suggestions?

  • Equium L20-197 - what is the maximum size of HARD drive

    Hi all

I recently bought an Equium L20-197 and I thought to install a larger HARD drive.
I wanted to know what the maximum size of HARD drive that can be installed on an Equium L20-197 (I guess it's 120 GB, as it is on the L20-187 but I'm not 100% sure)

I have also been seaching for the IDE drives and found a list of sites who have PATA, ATA100 etc. are also the IDE drives? (I checked the wiki and articles all point Yes, but a little more confirmation would not hurt)

I was also wondering if the HARD drive I install must be brand toshiba (or if it even makes a difference).

Thanking you in advance for any help you can provide.
    K

    Hello

Equium L20 is very similar to the Satellite L20.
Search here in the forum for similar issues. If you want to use the advanced search option, you will find a few useful headings.

I know, it's that you can use the 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB and 100 GB 2.5 IDE HARD drive supporting the UDMA100

    Good bye

  • What is the maximum size of hard drive, which can be installed in a pavilion d4790y desktop computer?

What is the maximum size of hard drive, which can be installed in a desktop pavilion d4790y?

It would be a secondary drive, not the boot drive.

The operating system is Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.  The version of the BIOS is 5.08.

Are there any changes or upgrades that would allow an internal hard drive 3 TB to install?

Here are the specifications and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion d4790y and here are the specifications of its card mother P5BW - THE (Basswood2). Based on the specifications and the age of the computer, I would expect you to use a hard drive 3 TB as a secondary drive on Windows Vista (DISPLACEMENT SP1 or SP2) and Windows 7. Formatted as MBR would require the drive to use with a minimum of two partitions. Formatted as GPT would require only a single partition. In no case will you be able to use the 3 TB as a boot device drive because your computer does not support a UEFI BIOS that allows booting from a GPT formatted disk. No changes or updated should be held.

    Hello:

If you are in a hurry and want to install W7 before your recovery disks are shipped to you, you can download the version of windows 7, which has been installed on your PC and is indicated on the COA Microsoft sticker on the bottom of your PC.  For example, if windows 7 Pro came with your laptop and is indicated on your COA sticker, you can download the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of windows 7 Pro in language comes with your PC, and use the 25-character product key on your COA to activate the software.

You must use the language of the operating system that comes originally installed on the PC or the product key will not work.

You will need a program capable of burning ISO to DVD files, burning, so that the DVD is bootable DVD.

Then just go to the support for your laptop and driver page to download and install the drivers you need.

Link to all versions of W7. These are real files to Microsoft.

  • How can I reinstall Windows 8 in my laptop if the hard drive broke down?

I have a new laptop with windows 8 is installed (product key is embedded in the bios I think and no sticker license more on this subject).

    I just want to know

    1. How can I reinstall Windows 8 if the hard drive broke down

and I don't have any medium of recovery and the warranty is expired

    2. is there any media can make me reinstall my windows 8?

for example using the windows disk 8 OEM that can be brought in computer stores

I know that windows 7 can.

    3. when I use other media to reinstall windows 8 in my laptop, it will ask for the product key during the installation begins.

I'm looking for the key to the installation?

I can in the future, faced with this situation. I hope someone can help me.

    Best regards
    Joe Man

I think most of the technicians know how to use a recovery partition, but the real problem for the recovery of Windows 8, it is each brand (oem) will need an installation disc for their particular model. We can install a Dell windows 7 cd on any PC OEM and after doing the updates, it will itself attest. With windows 8 you can even not windows to be installed on the PC if the disk you put in does not support security in the BIOS.  In other words, you need the proper (HP, Dell, etc.) model numbers version of Windows 8 recovery CD similarly be able to install it.
If you are a system integrator or building a PC for yourself I think that the normal OEM cd should work as long as you you know number OEM KEY or product key. Its the BRAND PC which will be a pain in the buttocks in the future for technicians who have to reinstall Windows 8 on a VIRGIN hard drive AGAIN.

  • Need info on max size of HARD drive available for Satellite Pro M30-813

    Hello

The question is mainly to be sent to Toshiba authorized support personnel. The limitation of the maximum size of a HARD drive internal that I could use with my Satellite Pro M30 - 813, what exactly?

Recently, I bought and installed seagate SATA drive of 160 GB, on which I installed WXP Pro and have been running for a while with no problems. Recently, I've been copying large amounts of data to an external hard drive to my new internal drive, and that the files have been copied, as I noticed have about 50 GB of free space left, I knew windows "delayed write failed" and a failure of massive wall without the possibility to recover the data. The system would no longer boot time and the entire MBR has been damaged. As a result, I lost all the data on my new drive.

Well, I realize that Toshiba is not responsible for additional hardware that I use with my computer laptop and who is not officially supported by Toshiba, I am sure that as an end-user of a Toshiba product, that I have the right to know a lot information of limiting size of HDD for my model of laptop. So I ask, representing technical support Toshiba to give me an official reply directly to my question.

    Thank you in advance,

    Andrejs

(You can also contact me private my e-mail address)

    Hi Andrew

    > The question should mainly be addressed to Toshiba authorized support staff
I think that you are in the wrong place if you are looking for a response from an authorized Toshiba support.
This is a user to user Toshiba forum! You will here meet passionate and Toshiba laptop owner who share knowledge and trying to solve the problems, but no one of Tosh :(

I could give my experience with Satellite M30 and HDD upgrade possibilities.
To my knowledge the M30 Sat supports a 40 GB, 60 and 80 GB HARD drive for sure.
In my opinion, you can use the 100 GB HARD drive, but more large HARD s drive will not run and works correctly.
So go to a smaller size of HARD drive and enjoy the laptop!

I've goggled a bit and found compatible drive HARD and part numbers
    HITACHI GBC000Z810-> 80 GB
    HITACHI GBC00014810-> 80 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2188B-> 80 GB
    HITACHI G8C0000Z610-> 60 GB
    HITACHI G8BC00013610-> 60 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2183-> 60 GB
    TOSHIBA HDD2184-> 60 GB

I hope this might help you a little!

  • Y at - it a maximum size of HARD drive internal to a Satellite Pro A120

Is there a maximum size of disk HARD internally for a Satellite Pro A120?
I tried a 320 HDD int Tosh and had problems with continuous boot.

I have the BIOS update (March 08)

    > Is there a maximum size of disk HARD internally for a Satellite Pro A120
    Yes, I think so.
The BIOS doesn't support all sizes of HARD drive!

In my opinion, teething problems are associated with the large size of HARD drive and advise to use a smaller HARD drive.

  • DC7700: Size maximum hard drive on HP DC7700?

I recently upgraded to a 2 TB to 3 TB (after the death of the 2 TB).

I also upgraded from Win7 for Windows 10 at the same time.

A week later, the operating system won't start.  When I look at the disc (he jumped into another office) and it the disc seemed to only be formatted in ran 2 TB Seagates SeaTools.  It is passed all tests ok.

Trying to get Win10 to do a repair of the car.  Failed.  Tried to update (save user settings)... failed.  Tried to wipe & re-install... also failed.

I was wondering if there is a problem with the maximum size of hard drive in the BIOS.  Running 1.06 (the latest news of 2011?).

I hope someone could shed some light on this?

    Thank you

    John.

    Hi, John:

There are actually a few problems...

    1. you must not exceed 2 TB for a boot disk when your PC lacks a UEFI BIOS (which is not the dc7700).

    2. If the HARD drive is a SATA III (6.0 Gbps) by car, there is a very good chance he's one of the symptoms listed in this document from HP below...

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=3718645&docid=emr_na-c02711513&lang=en&cc=us

I had the same thing happen to me (the first question is in the document) on my dc7800 when I installed a new 500 GB WD Caviar Black HDD, SATA III HARD disk.

W7 has worked for awhile and then the disc has not been recognized more.

I assumed that the drive is defective, so I RMA'd it, and the other does exactly the same thing.

I swapped the 500 GB of disk with a disk of 1 TB SATA III coming from my 8200 Elite CMT.  The 8200 Elite came from the factory with 1 TB HARD drive.  1 elite 8200 than TB HARD drive worked perfectly well in my dc7800 and the WD 500 GB drive has worked perfectly well in my 8200 Elite (which has a SATA III HARD disk controller).

IMO, the unrecognized drive is because of this incompatibility problem described in the document of support.

For more information on disks larger than 2 TB, read this white paper from HP below.

You should be able to use the 3 TB, such as a data reader drive if you format to GPT, provided that the incompatibility problem does not exist when it is not be used as a startup disk.

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=3459241&docid=emr_na-c02826744&docLocale=en_US

Curiously, the dc7900 and 8000 Elite PC, I, do not have that issue with discs hard non - HP SATA III - even if their controllers are only SATA II as well.

  • W500 has not detected a good size of HARD drive

    I am trying to picture a W500 using MDT 2010 Update 1.

I have a 80 GB HARD drive installed (tried several different readers)

MDT is set to partition the HARD drive to 100%

The problem is that when it breaks and format the HARD drive, it does just 1 GB.

I used FDISK to wipe the drive. I did even format a Partition BACK and only formatted FDISK 1 GB as well.

Can someone help me with what would cause this?

I can well image other PC (Desktop and laptop) and they are partitioned correctly. Just not this W500.

    I thought about it.

There is actually an Intel Turbo Memory Module which is about 2 GB in size.

All the software I was using was only to see that the module and not the HARD drive.

I removed this module and then you can see the correct size of HARD drive.

  • Maximum supported size of HARD drive for HP Elitebook 8440p Windows 7 Pro 64 bit runing

Hello, I just bought a HP Elitebook 8440p "off lease" of Tigerdirect and seeks to upgrade the two memory (from 4 GB to 8 GB) and put in the eligible of the biggest HARD drive I can. Either a 512 GB SSD or a 1 TB WD hybrid WD BLACK2 (1 TB HDD / 120 GB SSD Combo drive in a single package!). I would like to see more large disk addressable by using Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit OS since I don't seem able to find this info on the web. HP offers only only a 256 GB SSD in its specifications. but I didn't know if it was do limitations of BIOS or availability at the time of production, even for the HARD drive to 512 GB.

Also, I would like to know if 9.5 mm compliant Bay that it needs to be for the WD drive. Can't find that either, and while the new laptop has not yet happen, all measure exactly the same way regarding what works and what simply cannot be "cheated".

Thank you for taking the time to read this and NO information to that effect would be Greatl appreciated!

Essentially the reason why you do not have a maximum size of hard drive is because there is not everything. Between SATA and 64-bit OS', worrying about maximum size of hard drive is a thing of the past. Are the biggest readers found in the manual, as you suspected him, just a function of the market at the time of manufacture. It was a few years ago now, it is so understandable that the offerings were "at the time" more thin than now.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Page 4-9 shows the procedure of the Bay and the replacement of the hard disk. The Bay is made for a 9.5 mm thickness 2.5-inch wide SATA hard but the new 7 mm readers also works. The black hybrid drive requires some software (included in the package) to treat the two drives in Windows and I read a modest amount of disappointment in the documentation about them. If you can afford the 512 GB SSD go in this direction and you will not be sorry. I use a Samsung 840 Evo and it has worked perfectly for me for almost 2 years and the most recent 850 I hear is even better.

  • Should have 8 000 emails in my Inbox Windows Mail (Vista) considerably slow down my computer with 3 GB of RAM and trigger alerts from Norton of "the High CPU use by Windows Mail.

In addition, about half of my 8,000 e-mails are unread. Thus, the fact of having 4 000 unread emails in my mailbox Windows (Vista) slow down my computer more than if they were 4 000 read emails?

If so, is there a quick way to mark all read emails as read in Windows Mail (Vista)?      .. .in windows Live Mail (Vista)?

Even if these unread e-mails degrade the speed, is there a quick way to mark all read emails as read in Windows Mail (Vista)?... .in windows Live Mail (Vista)?

I also regularly get an alert Norton of 'Use of disc high by Microsoft Windows Search Indexer.'  Gravity is the next, and what can I do to fix the problem?

Finally, I have a lot of folders: would have 2,000 emails in the Inbox Windows (Vista) slow down a computer more than if 2 000 mails were one or more files?   This change of response if the e-mail is unread vs bed?

#2: the Inbox is accessible by your computer whenever he asks new messages. The fact of having 1,000 messages in the Inbox slow it down? I have no personal experience, since I never have more than a dozen or messages in my Inbox, but it is so likely. If you have lots of free space on the hard disk, the messages would be better in another folder (s). Even if you create more WinMail's local folders and move messages to them.

I would also say this. Try to compact and repair the database.
