Any suggestion on why a microphone may not work? Any input would be appreciated with thanks a lot.

  My Siri worked around 26/05/2016 and I updated Memorial weekend. Since that time my front microphone has stopped working. FaceTime, dictated, Siri, voicememos are all just static sounds. But if I plug my headphones, it works very well. I tried something that does not promote Apple, but it was hopeless. I did all the trouble shooting and now awaits a chat representative to help me.   I'm not sure what you have tried, but the simplest and the first line of defense in these matters is a reboot or a forced reboot:

  Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support

  Aside from that, it COULD still be a hardware problem.  iOS updates can highlight potential problems/mismatches firmware in this mode. What is a refurbished phone?

• I had to reinstall Vista and now my display driver and the microphone does not work.

  I recently had to reinstall Windows Vista on my PC.  Now my audio works perfectly, but my microphone will not even if the Control Panel recognizes it is connected and working properly.  Also, my display driver stopped responding from time to time and crashes my computer.  Geek Squad, I need new drivers, and they want me to pay 130 to install.  I'd rather do it myself.  I tried to install the driver for my card NVIDIA and Vista, but that did not help.

  Is that you improved your system to 8.1 of Windows from a previous version?

  How to uninstall the software:

  1. From the start screen
  2. Type in the Panel
  3. Click on Control Panel (make sure apps is selected)
  4. Click on uninstall a program under programs category.
  5. Find TOSHIBA Web Camera Application and double click it.
  6. Complete uninstallation suite at the direction of the screen.

  Access TOSHIBA support website to obtain the last component to install.

  1. Go to http://support.toshiba.com/drivers
  2. Enter your product serial number
  3. Press GO
  4. Select the camera under filter by
  5. Select Windows 8.1 (64-bit) under filter by
  6. Click on the application of WEB camera at the top of the list
  7. Click Download
  8. Install the application by following the instructions on the screen

  Method 3: When the sound card is installed, the microphone is also installed and uses the sound card drivers.

  Please try to uncheck the option put the microphone muted in the sound menu. If the problem persists then uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers.

  Have you tried to test mic with Skype or a similar application. Friend of mine has Satellite P500-127 and he use it for Skype communication.
  I can hear it fine and everything works fine.

  Do you still have the factory settings (original operating system preinstalled)?

  It's very strange. I installed Windows XP Home SP2 on Satellite U300 edition. It's the same laptop fine but a bit smaller and in my case works cam and microphone. I tested it with Skype. The sound quality is not very good, but it works.

  Are you trying to test also with Skype? Did you check the sound options?

  The internal MIC is part of the webcam module.
  What happens if you start the webcam, try saving and small clip? The sound recording is this too?

  Usually, you can change the recording devices in Control Panel-> sound-> recording tab
  Here, you can check what devices are available. Right click and check if hidden and disabled devices can be demonstrated.

  By the way: I had some problems with the playback of the sound after installing the Realtek audio driver. I uninstalled the Realtek audio driver and Device Manager remove the audio display Intel (in games, field audio video controller). In the peripheral zone system you could remove the controller high definition audio.
  Again, restart the laptop.

  Usually, removing devices should be recognized automatically. Then go again to the dashboard-> sound-> recording tab and check if other devices outside external microphone are available.

  Usually, you need to install the webcam driver and sound to get the microphone working. The microphone is a part of webcam

  As you wrote, Satellite A210 is not Windows 7 64 bit supported, so the only option you have the Vista 64 bit drivers

  In my opinion, you should check if the Microphone is turned on in Windows audio settings. There you can also activate the Microphone Amplifier, which can increase the volume of the microphone.

  I think that the reason why Windows 7 is only RC and not a final version that is on the market. I think you should wait until Windows 7's official published.

  However, you have installed the driver for the webcam and soundcard? You can try using the Vista drivers. It should also work on Windows 7.

  I am a new user of French a P100-473 series and games. I have it downgrade to Windows XP Home edition for the goal of the game.

  I use conexant high definition driver v 3.11 and its working fine but not the microphone plug on the front of the laptop. I tried all the driver conexant Web 3.12 3.14 and after and the problem is reversed, the microphone does not work very well "using the audio msn Configurator" but I have no sound.

  The driver is working properly, no error, but not sound under windows. Does anyone have a solution for me?
  I have worked on this for 1 week and I really want to resolve the thing, because the cell phone is a great product and on vista, it works like a 486.

  On the Toshiba download page there is unfortunately no driver audio Windows XP Home edition for this laptop preinstalled Vista. Read some other assignments that I found the same reports sound works but mic cannot be used.

  Sorry, but it is clear at the moment, there is no solution to this stupid attachment problem. :(

  Just one last thing: try to install your own Vista without Toshiba has designed tools and utilities and let me know how your P100. ;)

• Windows XP and built-in microphone does not work

  I had reviewed similar topics, but I couldn't find a clear solution.

  My laptop is XP and has a built-in microphone.  I tried Skype and the microphone does not work.  It was not used in the past2 or 3 years, but it has been running at the same time.  Use Audacity for school work.  Can't do the part of speech recognition because I'm working with Office 2007 as it says XP and Office 2007 do not work.

  Any ideas to fix or am I destined for an external mic?  or would that even work?

  With respect to the built-in microphone, you may need to reinstall the audio drivers from the manufacturers Web site.

  As far as the webcam goes, as long as its compatible I guess it will work fine.

  Malware or virus infections can have harmful effects on a computer, even if they have been deleted. The only sure way to never remove infections from virus or malware is to reinstall Windows.
