The OEM 10 g to 11g without Agent upgrade

I am trying to upgrade only the SGD to 11 g. Currently I'm under 10.2.0.5 to the SGC and 10.2.0.4 for the agent version. DB repository is 10.2.0.4.
According to the note 11 GR 1 material [412431.1] supports any agent of 10 g. However there is no option to send the agent installation. It upgrades the SGC and the agent at the same time.

Does anyone know how to update the control grid without upgrading the agent?

Thank you.
Shawn

You can check what versions of the agent will work with WHO 11 g: Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Certification Checker [412431.1 ID].
Here, you can also consult the agent versions and make them supported database versions.

  • Install the SP1 OEM Win7, but use the license key of Windows 7 without SP1 retail

    Hi all:

I had to order a new pc Intel NUC and to use the key to a copy the retail of Windows 7 HP without SP1, but prefer to use a usb key ISO a Win7 OEM with sp1 to install.   This new Windows O.S. facility will replace the copy that was previously on a homemade HTPC I have now in the bedroom using Linux Mint with XBMC.  I'm not sure that I can activate the OEM with SP1 version with a key to a retail version that did not have SP1.   I already made an ISO and copied on a USB key using the Microsoft tool.  I hope someone can tell me that it will work or I have to start all over again and make an ISO using the original retail disk before installing?

Yes, you can, as long as they are the same edition.

SP1 or RTM (non - SP1), it doesn't matter, as long as you have a key corresponding to the edition being installed.

  • If the OEM license is tied to the BIOS, the BIOS can be updated without problems?

I think to update my Vista 64 bit on windows 7 laptop.  I was reading the Ant on the differences between OEM and full, and in a post, it said that the OEM license is tied to the BIOS serial #.  Is it a serial number of the equipment of a firmware #.  What would happen if you fast a new BIOS revision?

    Thank you

a preinstalled OEM SLP key should interact with the slic table in bios in order to activate itself. You can update the bios without negative consequences as long as you get the bios that is appropriate for your machine.

An OEM system builder license does not use the slic table.

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

    (A) OEM SLP: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

    (B) SLP COA: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone. (Note: all manufacturers that use the SLP OEM system are bound by contract to include a certificate of Authenticity sticker (COA), which has a COA SLP key, on the computer)

Is it possible to use the ordered from HP recovery disk and start from the beginning? without loging into the computer? Or did I get the OEM software for reinstallation?

The computer is a HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6-1302eo. Product A9W62EA, serial number 5CD2087JGP.

    Hi, Peter:

Have you tried to recover from the recovery partition?

You start the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F11 key to start the Recovery Manager program.

Follow the instructions on the screen.

If you can get the PC restored in this way, you should be able to make a set of recovery disks to find Recovery Manager program in the menu all programs.

  • Windows installed the automatic windows update agent and I would appreciate help with the settings option in this newly installed agent update so no update never install or download unless I choose to do.

    Hello.

I have windows vista 32 bit home edition.

Today somehow automatically installed windows ' automatic update agent 747600226

I always keep my settings to check the updates but let me choose whether to update or install.

With this new "update automatic agent" which automatically installed on my system, I want to make sure I have place it properly so that it remains in the same way that I always have my settings but two settings (options), he checked, and are confusing for me to know what those checked settings will do.

I would like to help you with these settings to make sure that the update is still as I want.

Below chose correctly when the new program installed today.  That's how I still want the settings to be:

Look for updates but let me choose whether to update or install

Please let me know if I need to change all the options account required in addition to this update agent to ensure that only, I choose to update or install.

There are four options and a box is in two and I don't know if I should remove the check marks or not.

Here are the other four options that I need to know how to configure it so that only I have update/install.

Once again, the download automatic microsoft today (update automatic agent 7.4.7600.226) without asking for my incentive preset automatic update options and that's what I'm trying to make sure is set correctly so that nothing installs or updates without asking me or let me do.

Option 1: (this option is checked. If I leave it checked will be it install or warn me only?)

Give me updates recommended in the way I receive important updates.

Option 2: (this is not checked and am not worried about this one)

Allow all users to use installed on this pc.

    Option 3:
(this is checked and want to know if should uncheck; what I don't want is any what to auto install, but the wording of this option and option 1 are vague because of the "give me " so I don't know what it means or will do.)  If this box is left to it automatically update/install?)

Give me updates for Microsoft products and looking for new optional microsoft software when I update windows

Option #4 (this is not checked, and I am not concerned about this).

See the notification me detailed when new microsoft software is available.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Take care! :)

    Hello

The Windows Update automatically updates the updater (himself), regardless of your settings.

    1. Yes it will alert you so you can update or install.

    2. check if you need more of yourself (other users) to be able to select and install the updates.

    3. it will let you know when they become available.

    4. just gives the news of additional details about some of the updates.

Looks like you're ready for anything you like.

This means that the reason why the method above does not work, or you didn't follow correctly, either the key of your BIOS is corrupted.

  • Can I install a copy of Windows 7 retail and use the OEM key that came with my system to activate it?

    Help me asus laptop n55sf
I bought asus n55sf notebook, The OEM OS (Windows 7 Home Premium) it comes preinstalled without any image or cd and I want to ask to download an original copy of Windows 7 Home Premium from microsoft using the key provided with the laptop

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    Another option:

  • Windows 7 will not activate with the OEM key, after the failure of HARD drive.

    Hello

I was recently asked to repair my brother DELL laptop.  The HARD drive failed and the system unusable.  I replaced the HARD drive and installed Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 (earlier version of windows) from my own installation media.  The recovery partition had survived the failure of HARD drive, I would have just cloned that and used, but this was not an option in this case.

The problem that I am experiencing, is that windows don't will not activate, saying that the key is not valid.  I was told that installing Windows 7 media would work with a retail or an OEM key, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  The key OEM I use, is from the computer it came from originally, and the only material change is the new HARD disk.

I try to avoid ordering an OEM Dell installation CD, as which costs money (I already have my own installation CD) and takes time (why do they have them available for download?).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • No COST for the OEM of Windows 8 version!

When I have no COST for the OEM of Windows 8 version, how can I confirm that I have a pirated version of Windows 8 retail sales provided by the seller or the right OEM with CDKey version in Bios?

For purchases made by my organization can follow.

If hackers are able to decipher the encryption of the BIOS, windows 8 will be sold freely as legal version organizations such as ours. Given that we have provided nothing to verify the authenticity of the operating system.

The thing is, hackers can crack the encryption, taking into account, the system Windows 8 by default uses Secure Boot which makes it extremely difficult to do. The system checks a certificate whenever it starts to ensure that no changes since the last boot. This is the reason why all pirates Windows 8 installed so far should be using KMS activation. He set up of Windows 8 feature BIOS as there was for Windows 7.

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

  • How can I remove old alerts on the OEM homepage?

I'm using OEM 11 g.  There is more than 375 alerts sitting in the 'Alert triggered' section on the home page of the OEM.  Some are nearly a year and cash have been resolved and have not always cleared.  I could go through all of them and manually clear an alert, but because of physical constraints, it's a very long process that will take me several hours to manage.  Is it possible to do a manual of clear lot.

There is also a full tablespace alert for nearly six months who has been treated immediately.  Data files were added and made CanGrow.  Yet that alert remains.  How can I delete it? Christine

    Hello

I recommend you check the metalink docs below

Troubleshooting of a spatial database of Tablespace Used (%) Alert problem in Grid Control 10 g, 11g and Dbconsole (Doc ID 403264.1), which also speaks of all problems associated with tablespace known/scenarios pending alerts and the resolution for the same

Also, one of the way to clear the metric Grid Control alerts is as follows:

    1. connect to grid control

    2. navigate to the target--> databases

    3. go to the home page of the problematic database

    4. click on the 'Settings and policy settings' link under 'related links '.

5 unset the metric threshold for the desired measure. «Clear all the fields for the metric by clicking on the edit button and click OK/continue»

    6. when the metric collection occurs again, it will clear the alerts.

    7. once the alert is disabled, the metric value the original values

  • The NAS can be turned on without a disc?

Recently, I took a drive on the NAS that I intend to sell it. I assumed that the NAS should have a form any internal memory only for the operating system to function. Is this the case? And if so, how to access the NAS? It has been sitting on a flashing power a LED all day and I tried to use the start menu to reset it without success.

If the NAS does not work because it stores the BONES and it has information on the first hard disk, you then install what it means if I insert a new disc, it'll be like setting up from scratch again?

    Thank you

All what you need to do is wipe the drive. If the sale of discs with the NAS some would prefer to make a secure disk erase (you can do this if connect drives to your PC).

A factory default will not work without disks. The purpose of this option of start menu must wipe disks (to wipe all your personal information, all data, settings, all on drives) and do a clean install of the operating system, to create a new volume, etc.

The OS is installed from the flash on the disks. All of your personal information are on the disks. The operating system is installed on both drives so if a broken disk we can still see newspapers etc. on the other disk.

If you look in RAIDar you won't see the error no disc detected.

The flash containing the firmware image content, but also things like the serial number of the device. We do not store any of your personal information at all. The flash is 128 MB, I think. It contains space for the content of the image of the firmware (which are highly compressed) and allows a bit of growth in the size of the firmware image.

We do not use the flash for the early stages of the start-up procedure, but we move quickly to boot from the disc.

Yes, but with the firmware currently on the flash which is the newest firmware you updated. When you update the firmware, it is updated on the flash and installed on the disks.
