The pictures in iPhoto do not appear in my media items in IMovie.

I have a new Macbook pro running El Capitan 10.11 and iMovie 10.1. When I open the media button there are a few files there but not the photos I want to use. I first placed the photos in an album in iPhoto. You have to do something to get iMovie to see the other photos?

Thank you

When you open the iPhoto library in the library list, in that you should see a drop-top left of the browser. Click the caret and select My Albums. See if your photos appear.
