The polygonal Lasso tool is nuts now!

I have Photoshop CS6 Version 13.0 x 64.  Recently, I upgraded my system to the Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.5.  Since I have my Polygonal Lasso tool does not work.  I can't start in a specific place, the starting point does not appear.  Then I hold the Option key down, move the cursor to the next location, but the line moves rarely in that position.  And it continues all the way up until when I try to close the path, I have to hold down the command key to make it.

Also, if I'm doing a diagonal line and hold down the Option key, it's often a horizontal or vertical line instead.

None of that happened with my old system.  Any thoughts on why and, if necessary can be made?  My RAM is maxed out, so this isn't the problem.

I was finally able to contact the customer support of cat care and the agent, Arjun Hohli, was able to do repair. I tried to follow along what he was doing, but lost track. It seems to heal by resetting preferences, uninstalling and reinstalling CC files. It was a problem with PS CC 2015 and Windows 10. I suggest to anyone having a similar problem to jump the forums and go straight to the Contact Customer Service REPS the remote access feature works fine and save a ton of confusion. It allows to see the real problem rather than relying on the customer precisely describing the anomaly, the support staff.

  • The polygonal Lasso tool - no WARNING WARNING: no pixel is selected more than 50%. The edges of the selection will be not visible.

I tried for hours without success to snap a portion of a photo by using the tool "Polygonal Lasso" and I get the error "no WARNING WARNING: no pixels are selected to more than 50 percent." The edges of the selection will be not visible.  No matter where you are looking for a solution, it always seems to suggest that you change the "panache".  I did this.  Several times with zero success.  There must be another solution.  Can you help me please?  Thank you.

You set the pen in the toolbar options to 0 px (zero) before using the Polygonal Lasso tool?

How to solve the problem with the wacom tablet and the polygonal lasso tool. It does not work with a pen. I have install windows 10 and fresh, new drivers for wacom bamboo, could he makes problems or there is a problem of photoshop?

It should do.  You use one of the buttons of pen maybe?  Just touching wheels with the pen with no buttons or modifier keys.  Press ENTER to close the selection.

Personally I never use the lasso, Polygonal, but rather just the Lasso tool by using the ALT (Opt) to operate the Polygonal tool.  I also use the mouse instead of the Tablet for the selection of cutting edge.  It is a little too uncertain where the point will go when hovering the stylus above the image.

How to remove a step with the polygon Lasso tool

In PS, all you have to do is to hit the DELETE key and you can go back a little with the polygon Lasso tool. How to accomplish this in Fireworks?

Another option that gives you a lot of control is to use the tool pen instead of the polygon lasso. Because it's a vector path, you can refine the outline very easily using the tools of feather and Subselects and when you are satisfied with the result, click on modify > convert a path to the top. You can even choose to keep or delete the vector path in the preferences panel.

  • selection of the polygonal lasso tool

while I select the area I want to get, ps links the last point of departure automatically out of my control and selection process ends the way of selection. What is the reason. Also when selecting closed and related to the first point, can I go back to the last point. CTRL + z does not work after the closure of path of selection?

You probably double click or Ctrl + click on like who closed the selection. Note that you can also add to an existing selection by pressing the SHIFT key while starting the selection

  • Polygonal Lasso tool ends early with Intuos 3 in CS4 (Vista Home)

I've been using the Polygonal Lasso tool in Photoshop CS4 to make a selection using a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet, but frustrating it is over at the beginning and apparently at random before I return to the starting point. I use Photoshop version 11.0.1 and Intuos 3 and the latest version of Direct X that you have installed the latest drivers. If I hold the pen on the Tablet, that the screen flickers sometimes (revealing the window behind) which can lead to the selection ended prematurely and sometimes it ends just at the beginning without obvious reason. I use Vista Home edition. Everyone knows about this problem? Any suggestions about what I can do about it? It is pretty unusable at the moment.

I do not deny your arguments, I was simply saying that for me it works. And I truly believe that most of the issues is certainly not related to the tool itself, but rather combinations of graphics card quirks and glitches in mouse / tablet drivers and configuration...

  • How can I stop and then resume when you use the magnetic Lasso tool?

CS4 on Mac. I have some fairly complicated selections to make and the magnetic lasso tool seems a good choice. However: How can I stop and then resume when in use? For example, I would like to zoom, start by dragging along the edge, then stop, move the image to a different area of it is in the middle of my screen, then pick up again where I left.

    Hi MarieMeyer,

You can press the SPACEBAR shortcut to activate the hand tool temporarily once you are finished with the selection on a part of the image.

Then, move the image with the key space key and let it continue with the selection by using the magnetic lasso tool.

You can use the SHIFT key to add to the selection by using the magnetic lasso tool.

    Kind regards

    Claes

PS CS4 - Man, he has bugged a me long time, I finally thought I would like to know how to stop it. • Lasso tool polygon binding angles trying to add to the selection with the SHIFT key

Since upgrading (downgrading?) of Photoshop CS6 Extended Photoshop CC I have a problem with the lasso tool of polygon limited at certain angles when you try to add to a selection.

Here's the scenario, I select a color background with the magic wand tool, then I would like to add a few things to the selection, so I click on the polygon lasso tool and hold the SHIFT key to add to the playlist and then start to use the polygon lasso tool... often very randomly the polygon lasso tool will limit his movements to a 90 degree angle Sometimes something that seems like an angle of 30 degrees and sometimes he'll do any.

I'm doing something wrong or is this a bug?

The SHIFT key has two functions in the creation of a selection.  The first is as you know to add to any selection using another selection tool.  The second is forced to angles in drawing and selection, but also rotation tools.  So for your example, you have to hold down the SHIFT key when you click on to add to your selection using the polygon lasso tool, but after making the first click with the tool, Photoshop knows that you want to add to the selection.  So do not hold the SHIFT key after the first click, otherwise Photoshop assumes that you also want to compel the angles drawing of your choice.  (Unless that's what you really want to)
