The R400 processor upgrade options

I have an old Thinkpad R400 with a CPU T6570 currently and I think to be upgraded.

He uses the Socket P so I thought to upgrade to an intel Q9100... Maybe even a QX9300.

I know he's not in decision-making, my question tho is the bios motherboard will support any processors?

y at - it might be a list somewhere what type of processors are supported? or perhaps are all Socket P processors supported?

Thanks, Janbanan22

so much worse... none have responded so I bought a T9600 instead. I bet that the Q9100 would not work in all cases

Fix. No support for quad cores on this platform.

X 9100 would, however, but it would be warm enough.

You make the smart choice with the T9600. Enjoy!

  • Expiration of the Windows 7 upgrade option!

Hi, I bought a Toshiba laptop a few months before Windows 7 came out, making sure he had a Windows 7 upgrade option. I didn't upgrade when W7 came out because there could be problems with a new version - obviously I thought that I would wait to see how it was received. In any case, a friend of mine convinced me the other day that it is much better than Vista and I had to upgrade, but now I thought that there was a time limit on the upgrade option, and it expired on 28 February - last Sunday! I can either spend - I missed the boat. I called the customer service, but all they could do was repeat what the web page - the option has expired so far go.

I'm not at all happy about this because at no time I tells me that there is a limit of time on it. He didn't say it in product information, or outside of the box or what be provided inside the box. I had no idea that I had to do before the end of February for this - if I did I would have done it.

As far as I'm concerned, I paid for Windows 7. The upgrade option came as part of the cost of the laptop without any mention of a deadline. Toshiba can not see it like that, but it's a reasonable person would believe according to the information provided. Did someone else upset about this? I hope posting here will inspire the action without me having to be made to the small claims court. There is no way that this may be eligible under the law of consumption. Imagine a person selling a book token that had a period of 6 months without telling them and without printing anywhere on the token! That may not be legal.

If all goes well, there will be a few of us to exert pressure on this issue.

    Luke.

    Hello

I have ordered the Win7 upgrade kit at the right time and now use Win7 on my Satellite A300.

What I can say is that this forum is nothing but forum users and here you won't find any option just official statement by people like you and me.
Another thing, this downloadable image. As far as I know that something like that can not be downloaded.
What you can do now is to buy the Microsoft installation disc and install the clean version of Win7.

I don't know what model of laptop you have, but all new laptops are supported Win7 and you can find all the important factors, tools and utilities on Toshiba download page.

  • The tiny processor upgrade M93p

I am considering, for the most part just for fun, upgrading the processor in my tiny M93p Office. According to CPU World, the socket type is a decision 1150 / LGA1150 socket / Socket H3. My M93p currently has a processor Intel Core i5 - 4570T (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/Intel-Core%20i5-4570T.html), 2.9 GHz dual-core. I would like to put a processor quad-core in it, but I am concerned about the risk of increased energy and heat load.

I'm looking for the following options to upgrade:

    i5 - 4690K (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/Intel-Core%20i5-4690K.html)

    i5 - 4570S (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/Intel-Core%20i5-4570S.html)

    I7 - 4785T (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i7/Intel-Core%20i7-4785T.html)

    I7 - 4790K (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i7/Intel-Core%20i7-4790K.html)

As I said, my major concern is heat load and increased energy consumption. The power of my current processor thermal design (TDP) is 35 watts. The TDP of the CPUs I'm looking at upgrading range from 35 watts (i7 - 4785 lower motor T, not my first choice) to 88 watts. If I go with a TDP of 65 watts or 88 watts, my heat sink will be able to handle the heat load? And the food will be able to handle the additional energy consumption. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

It must be one of the processors is can be ordered with, else the BIOS doesn't recognize and are unable to post (start). Search above for others who have improved their processor.

  • the rp5700 PROCESSOR UPGRADE

    Hello

I've updated a rp5700 with a new "Intel Core E7400 2" and I get the following error when starting the machine:

    1801 Microcode Update error

Missing or not valid processor updated Microcode.  Please contact

You can force startup by pressing F1, but can someone point me in the right direction to solve this problem/getting updated firmware please?

    Thanks in advance

This message indicates that the BIOS does not support this processor.  An update of the BIOS can solve that.  Here is a page that gives this machine a BIOS upgraded with the firmware updated.  Click the BIOS category and choose the one appropriate for your application.  Which may or may not solve the problem, by providing the processor you have is included in the update.

  • The question processor upgrade

OK so I have a Presario SR1920NX I upgraded to 2 GB of ram and put to update to windows 7 but here's the question... I currently have 2.2 GHx processor and I feel its not quite worth more so I decided to upgrade, but basically, each processor I looked for my pc requires an update of the Bios ok no biggie execpt theres no bios update for my pc running windows 7 so I would be nice to upgrade without bios or would I need to go back to xp update of the BIOS, and then reinstall windows 7?

Here are the specifications of your desktop Compaq Presario SR1920NX. Previously, I had a Compaq SR1910NX and always use an HP a1632x, two use the same motherboard as your SR1920NX. My a1632x is a "Athlon 64 X 2 3800 + 2.0 GHz" which resembles your "Athlon 64 3500 + 2.2 GHz" except that he has two hearts. I upgraded to 4 GB of memory RAM and installed Windows 7 64-bit. The system works without a problem and partitions in the middle of the year of 5 years with a HP 512 MB HD6450 graphic card.

Installation of 4 GB and a graphics card will help your system to feel faster and upgrade to a dual core Athlon 64 X 2 4800 + will help certainly... but the CPU is going to be hard to find and quite expensive, even on e - bay.

BIOS version 3.11 is the last update of the BIOS and does not add processors higher than socket 939 X 2 4800 +. You will need to go back to XP to install the BIOS update, because it will not install on any other OS.

  • Presario CQ57-301TU: which is the best processor upgrade

Could you please suggest me the best update for my laptop with processor and graphics card

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

You have the Pentium B950. The motherboard is able to accept Pentium processors. See p. 19. The only "upgrade", you can do is a slightly faster Pentium processor as the P6300. Not worth it in my opinion. The video is also limited by the motherboard. The video chip is soldered to the. You have Intel HD video and there is a motherboard with separate video that would be a little better. If you were going to do that you might as well get the motherboard that would accept an i5 processor. But the cost of the new motherboard and the processor and the heat sink would certainly exceed what you have paid for this laptop. The CQ57 series was widely offered as a doorbuster special cheap. You'd be much better off with a new laptop.

    The current one is an AMD TL-56 1.8Ghz (64 x 2)

Laptop computer product code is Dv6331eu and it has 2 MB of RAM

Is there an upgrade of RAM available as well?

I do not know what is the version of the BIOS, but will in a few days (I just bought)

It is currently running windows 7 with a 32 bit OS

The price of the upgrade, I would say it's worth.

    You will notice improved performance.

  • Processor upgrade options

I plan to upgrade the CPU in my R61i (8918), knowing full well that this voids my warranty already old.

However, I do not know if the BIOS of the motherboard 8918 can manage the CPU I plan...

    R61i bios supports a Core2quad processor, or should I stay with Core2duo?

As a sidenote: 8918 motherboard can handle the new 4 GB so-DIMM DDR2 (giving me a total of 8 GB) or who will crash spectacularly?

  • Do I need a Vista installation disk to use the Windows 7 upgrade option?

    Hi guys,.
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
I'm currently running Vista 64 bit and you want to upgrade to Windows 7.
I'm looking to upgrade and full version options.
I'm looking to do a clean install.
My question is, if I buy a version upgrade of Windows 7 need me a Vista installation disc to allow it?
My PC came pre loaded with Vista, so I don't have an installation disc.
    Thank you

    Emma

A copy of the full license of Windows 7 would be transferable to a computer without an operating system until it has been completely removed from the first.

I highly recommend that you buy a copy of the full license since you think you might buy a personal computer.

The upgrade copy would not be transferable to a new computer unless the new computer already had a copy of installed Windows on what qualifies for an upgrade to Windows 7.

  • How to get back to the original LR upgrade options?

I just bought the upgrade of LR3, and the installation, asked if I wanted to create a separate catalog for LR3 or merge (right word?) in the existing LR2 catalog.  I looked in my applications folder and I've seen separate icons for LR 1 and 2 so I chose to create a new catalog in LR3.  Apres_qu' it is installed, I opened and found: a) no pictures and b) no keywords.  I uninstalled and installed again but didn't was not a particular issue on the installation of the second.  I tried the LR2 catalog import but do not import keywords.  How to return to the original option?  Help.

There are several options for you:

    (a) go to your applications folder and delete the newly created catalog in LR3 - LR is closed - and then start LR;

    (b) or LR3 go > file > open catalog and the former catalogue;

    (c) LR 3 or with your catalog, which shows nothing to go to > file > import from catalog and access your old catalog. With this option, you first import your LR2 catalog, then your catalog LR1.

  • ORA-39700: database must be opened with the UPGRADE option

    Hello
    Let me explain the scenario.
I have the oracle with 11.2.0.2 binary. This House is shared by multiple database (around 15 of database).
Now, I must apply the PSU 5 for one of the database (allows to take the name of the test).
So I installed 11.2.0.2 new home in the same server and applied the PSU-5 for thati oracle new home.
I copied the spfile and password at home girl new oracle, associated to the TEST database. Now when I try to start the DB with option to boot he asks me to open the DB with UPGRADE option.

Why should you start the DB with upgrade option because he was running with the same version in old House as well?

    I run catupgrd.sql once more?

PSU patches usually do not require the database to be opened in UPGRADE mode. The obvious explanation is that the source database is not 11.2.0.2 but something lower.
