    Hello

    Thank you for the upgrade of the Portal window update.

    I have recently reinstall my Win XP and found that the cumulative update takes less time to complete. I really appreciate the ability of this new software that is capable of downloading the update up to 120 at the same trial. It also requires fewer to reboot the PC to complete the remaining update.

    I hope that the methodology can be applied to all windows.

    Much appreciate if MS could continue to improve the program of the window so that it can be more effective at cumulative updates

    Thank you

  • For the last month or more, I had the same two updates for my computer

    original title: Windows updates

    For the last month or more, I had the same two updates on my computer.  Is anyone know why and what I can do to fix this?  I am running Windows XP.  Thank you very much.

    Hello

    the message "you have hidden the important updates" is normal, because you have hidden the high priority updates, but the updates are already installed, if that's OK.

    Try to look again at the web page:

    http://www.update.Microsoft.com/

    and click on "Custom".

    You should not see the updates (KB2518864 and KB2539631) in "review and install updates.

    You should see only "Important - you have hidden the important updates..." and "high-priority - updates non-priority updates to update for your computer... ».

    Then, try this (remove the content of the "'C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" ")

    1. Click Start, click run, type services.mscand click OK.
    2. In the Services (Local) pane, click automatic updates, and then click stop.
    3. Reduce the Services (local) window.
    4. Select all the contents of the Windows distribution folder, and then delete them.

      Note By default, the Windows distribution folder is located in the drive: \Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder. This place is a placeholder for the drive where Windows is installed.

    5. Ensure that Windows distribution folder is emptyand enlarge the Services (local) window.
    6. In the Services (Local) pane, click automatic updates, and then click Start.
    7. Restart the computer.

    I hope that we will achieve the goal, it will no longer still report the updates :-)

  • Is it ok to remove the old Windows updates as I have many of them take a lot of disk space?

    I have several updates of microsoft for a few years. I am auto update, but all the old updates are still there. Is it necessary to keep or to delete to free up space. I get warnings that the computer is low on virtual memory.

    original title: is it OK to remove the old windows updates as I have many of them taking place?

    Virtual memory is used only when your physical memory has been exhausted.  This happens usually either when you have not restarted recently, or when you have too many programs running at the same time.  I suggest you reboot at least once a week and if it continues to happen, a purchase more RAM.

    Hi TaylorBurns,

    -What happens when you try to start Outlook Express?
    -You receive an error message or error code? If so, specify the same?
    -Do you remember the number of the Knowledge Base (KB) update that has been installed recently?

    See the update history for the same. Follow these steps to do the same thing:

    i. Click Start, click Control Panel and then double-click Add / Remove programs.

    II. open Add / Remove programs.

    III. at the top right, select the box show updates to date. All installed updates appear at the top of your list of programs.

    Check the event viewer if there is no error message related to this topic.
    See the following links for the same:

    question 1

    my research of computer for updates every day 10:00, I install them, it seems to have succeeded then the shield reappears to tell me that the updates are ready for my computer? It's really confusing and it seems to be the same 5 updates, is there a problem with these updates and how to fix it
    question 2
    my windows xp continues to come with a corrupted file is related to question 1?
    Please help IV ' e have no idea what to do about it
    Hi vickysumner,

    -Do you remember the number of Knowledge Base (KB) updates that are offered to install several times?

    -What is the corrupt file that you're talking about?

    -Do you have pop ups or any error message that a file was deleted? If Yes, specify exactly the error message verbatim.

    Method 1: Check the status of the updates in the update history.

    a. click Start, click all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.
    (c) in the State of this window column, find the update failed to install and then click on the red X.
    (d) a new window opens that displays the installation error code. Note the error number. You will have to type or paste the error number in a search box to the next step.

    Method 2: Also, try the steps listed here:

    Complete your custom code

    }

    I tried to move it to a previous setting, placing a stop in the previous framework, displacement of the order after stop and so on. No matter what I do, the new url opens in a new window and is in a constant state of refreshment. I also disabled loop but the animation begins to load the first image again anyway.  Help, please. I tried several fixed listed in the forums which are built around the same with no different results.  You can view my animation here: http://www.student.nvcc.edu/home/amlayne/ite170/flash/graded%20assignments/myintro.html

    NOTE: You must close the browser to get the update to stop.

    I have worked on this issue in two days and I am at a total loss.

    the enterframe event is dispatched repeatedly several times per second (equal to your pace) and this isn't what you want.

    Replace all the code with:

    navigateToURL (new URLRequest ("http://www.student.nvcc.edu/home/amlayne/ite170/dreamweaver/graded _ * ignments/index.html"), "_self");

    Stop();

  • V29 Firefox to open links in the same window

    Since the installation of version 29, I found only two apparently related questions:

    (1) I find that links open in the same window as the source, instead of a new window.

    For example, I get a notification of a newsletter every day in my Yahoo email account. Before v29, when I clicked on the link in the email to go to the newsletter, it would open in a NEW window (my preference).

    With version 29, it opens in the SAME window (and replaces the window where I had Yahoo mail open).

    (2) in the same way, I do a lot of work where the links will appear in an Excel worksheet. Previously, whenever I clicked on one, it will open a new window. If I clicked on 6, I have 6 windows open. Now, every link I click REPLACES the last one that I opened.

    These two problems are very annoying and slow me down.

    Is there a setting where I can change this behavior?

    I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and

    Add - ons have been changed / reset. Try this;
    Launch Firefox in Mode safe

    While you are in safe mode;

    Firefox Options > advanced > General.

    Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

    Then check ALL your settings. Browser and Add-ons. Then restart.

  • I can't open up a new tab in the same window when I click on the little + next to the first tab. How it works on FF4 for Windows Vista?

    I have a labtop Sony Vaio with Windows Vista, just updated for the new Firefox and now when I go to add a tab in the same window, it will not allow a new. I clicked on the + thing button/tab a bunch of times and nothing happens. What can I do to fix this? I'm not very computer so the step by step instructions would help a lot. Thanks for any help.

    Uninstall the toolbar Ask and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask and Firefox toolbar that prevents the opening of new tabs.

    There are a few places to check for the Ask toolbar:
