The slide duration

Hello - for some reason I'm not able to change the slide duration. The slide is currently 67 seconds. I try to change the duration of the slide in the properties panel - nothing. I try to move the playhead. It is not to every change of 67 seconds. any ideas? (PS - the slide audio features, but the sound is long only 49 seconds - I want to cut the length of the blade if it ends when the audio is complete.)

Hello

What are the objects on the slide? Normally when you can not adjust the duration of the slide is because you have an object on the slide which is timed such that you can not do the shorter blade.

Bottom here is to check the length of the objects on the slide.

  • Why a slide doesn't let me change the slide duration?

    I have slides with the audio, and I want the slide lasting only a few seconds longer than the slide audio so time reflects on how long the lesson is in fact. Most of them is right from 400 to 500 seconds now, whereas they should be much less.

    They have buttons that make a break for you move between slides. I tried to cut a wide blade or two seconds after the blade stops editing the slide properties and changing the time. It worked on my first 3 slides, but on my 3 last he does not accept the least time and jump just to some amount of time, it was before. For example, I want to slide 5 to 36 seconds in length, but it is currently at 453.3 seconds, and whenever I try to change it, it returns immediately.

    Calculate the calendar of the legend is not on, and nothing new appears on the timeline, after the blade stops at 34 seconds.

    Thank you!

    There is an element of the Clipboard which is 453.3.seconds. You cannot change the length of the blade to nothing less than the duration for which a element that is configured to display.

  • Insert Slide button eliminates the slide duration

    I use Captivate 5.0.2 and met with something 'strange '.

    I have create a slide with a duration of 5 seconds with a preference "to continue to the next slide.

    I then put a button on this slide, start at the beginning of the slide, in order to define the properties of this button to access the slide 3.

    I then publish, and when I look at the presentation, it takes until I click the button, and then it jumps to slide 3.

    I expect that if I sat there on the screen for 5 seconds, he would go to the next slide.

    Maybe I'm usng the button in order to hurt, but I couldn't find any other object that seemed to accomplish what I wanted to do.

    I figured this out.   in the button Preferences section, there is an option "pause after", you need to disable.

  • How to stop the slide duration change when stuck?

    (Adobe Captivate 5). I have a few thumbnails - sets of a few slides - I would like to integrate more than a presentation. In the original presentation, slide durations are all carefully defined, but when I copy and paste slides in another presentation, slide durations increase unnecessarily.

    Is there a way to prevent this free extension of the timeline and keep the original term?

    Thank you.

    Trevor

    Just another idea: have you tried to turn these slides into a model (you can just change the extension, most of the aspects will work) and start the other presentations with the model?

  • I want my SLIDES to be moved on by the learner, does not have a fixed time. How can I remove the slide duration?

    as above

    Interactivity is more than just reading and clicking on, but is not your question. What version do you use? I will be assumed that this is the last 8.0.1.242, a.

    Answer was already in my first answer. Insert an interactive object: shape, regular button button or click box. They can to pause the slide, the typical standstill period (see timing properties panel) is 1.5secs for form buttons and other buttons, at the end of his timeline for click boxes that are invisible to the user.  Interactive objects are a success and a failure of the event, when they click on the success event and this event can trigger an action such as «Go ├a next page» You'll find these actions in the properties panel for this object, tab Actions user can read or watch as long as he wants, and only when he clicks on this object, it will move to the next slide. Discover the timeline: small timeline Tidbits - Captivate blog

    Because you'll probably want this object to click on it to go to the next slide on each slide, I recommend using a form button. It's the only one who can be put on a master slide (maybe the main model slides), or on the first slide and timed for the rest of the project (synchronization properties panel). Never extend a slide for the purpose of what you're talking about, because that only increases the size of the file without reason.

  • Captivate 6 randomly lengthening the slide duration

    Hi all!

    I create quiz in Captivate 6.0.1.240.

    I put my slides to be long of 1 second.  However, if I make a change to a slide, other slides - no slides at random - are automatically extended to a random time.  For example, I just do a chain to slide 7.  When I got on slide 17, it is now long 57.6 seconds.

    I didn't know if it went on opening project or modification, so, today, when I opened the project before any changes I was watching each slide to confirm that it takes time to 1 second.  After making a few changes, I now see long periods at random!

    Any thoughts?  It drives me crazy to have to remember to check each slide for length before the publish.

    Thank you very much!

    Ah... now it all makes sense.  I often tell people that one of the first things they should be doing in the global settings in the CP is to disable these options Autosize darning captions, buttons and the timing.  They are more harmful than help in my opinion.

  • CP9 - cannot change slide durations

    I have a new project to the CP9. It was built with period slide 3 seconds by default. I need to shorten the duration of the slide for all slides. When I change the slide duration value in the distribution for the slide Board, the change is not accepted. After you change the selection to another slide and return to the original slide, the calendar did not change. I can drag the slide on the timeline duration to extend the duration of the slide, but not to shorten the time. Time can not be again (shortened) using the setting of the slide duration, must be redefined and dragging the slide on the timeline duration. Even when you drag on the timeline, the slide duration cannot be given unless the original 3 seconds. I've selected all the slides and reset the setting to slip to a shorter term, but the change was not accepted and the default remained. I have been using CP for a while and I don't remember this behavior.

    Question: Does this mean that a blade can be reset in a period shorter than the default set in the preferences at the time the slide was inserted? How can I reset the duration of the slide for slides selected at a value lower than the default?

    In all likelihood, synchronization of the object on a slide is the minimum length of the slide control. For example, create a new slide with the same 3 second default. Add an object to the slide (I used a text caption). By default, the object has a length of 3 second. If you try to make the blade a shorter length, Captivate does not. However, if you right-click on the object and set the duration to the 'rest of Slide' there no minimum calue by default and you can then set the length of the blade to any value you want.

  • 8. do not allow me to move the markers of the slide in the audio editing of slides in Captivate

    Support - seems to work sometimes, but sometimes not. Today, not! I'm a software simulation. Then save auido to be distributed across multiple slides. But in the audio editor, says "you have reached the minimum display time" whenever I try to move the markers of slides! GRR! all solutions?

    Hello

    In the case of the image you provided, the audio itself seems to be long of 2.5 seconds. So Captivate you cannot change the slide duration to be shorter 2,5 seconds, because the associated audio video needs this time to complete. The only way to make this shorter slide is to edit the audio clip, so his is shorter.

    BTW: eLearning Suite 2.5 is running on this computer

    Not sure if that's what you want, but the event manager Widget would allow you to each timed display legends of success for a given number of seconds, or perform advanced actions to SHOW or HIDE captions when users click on the points.  You can set preferences in the widget to reset pass/fail criteria after Action to allow users to click on an object as many times as they want to repeat the action.  Set break preferences to permanently stop the slide until the user clicks another button to move to the next slide.

  • Duration of slide within the slide display

    Hi guys,.

    I want to show the time of Durian slide within the slide as any text captions or forms. It has been shown in the background of the part of the menu. Display inside the slide. Is it possible to display the duration of the slide in captivate 8.

    Slide-duration.png

    They are fairly easy to get into HTML5 and SWF with a widget.

    The following code inserted in the Head section of the HTML5 index.html will countdown to the duration of the slide and reset with each slide. It fills a myTime variable user in a text caption.

    var interfaceObj;
    var eventEmitterObj;

    window.addEventListener ("moduleReadyEvent", function (evt)
    {
    interfaceObj = evt. Data;
    eventEmitterObj = interfaceObj.getEventEmitter ();
    initializeEventListeners();
    });

    function initializeEventListeners()
    {
    If (interfaceObj)
    {
    If (eventEmitterObj)
    {
    {eventEmitterObj.addEventListener ("CPAPI_SLIDEENTER", function (e)}
    setPage();
    });
    }
    }
    }

    function setPage()
    {
    gSlide = cp.model.data.project_main.slides;
    RES = gSlide.split(",");
    cSlide res = [window.cpInfoCurrentSlide - 1];
    CSTO = eval ('; cf. model .data ' + cSlide + '.to');
    csFrom = eval ('; cf. model .data ' + cSlide + '.de');
    csTotal CSTO = - csFrom;
    SF = window.cpInfoCurrentFrame;

    {window.cpAPIEventEmitter.addEventListener ("CPAPI_VARIABLEVALUECHANGED", function ()}

    }

    function runTimer (st, sf, ef)

  • Text caption disappears after 3 seconds, even if by default is set to keep for the duration of the slide.

    On each slide, I have a different title in the upper right. I noticed that they disappeared after a few seconds, I went into preferences and set the default value for the text caption, image, etc. to stay for the duration of the slide. But when I go to test it, they disappear after three seconds still.

    I'm doing something wrong?

    Thank you

    Arthur

    ... and if you do not override the style of titles, using the small arrow curved in the upper right of the accordion of Timing will allow you to propagate the change of one legend to all others with the same style.

  • In the 11 elements, I would like to learn more about slideshows. The specific individual slide duration.

    In the 11 elements, I would like to learn more about slideshows. The specific individual slide duration.

    Donald,

    There are two ways to address still Image duration. One is global and applied prior to importation. We could determine the desired approximate time, come on in Edition > Preferences > General > always in time. Then, all imported pictures have that duration (as well as titles and new features, such as video of Black).

    Once this general term has been defined, we can again and on an Image by Image basis, click on + drag on the rest of the Image, tail or head, to adjust the duration. By doing this, I would have the info panel open and visible, to see exactly how long I've changed.

    Good luck

  • Duration of the slide show CS5 does not again refresh audio clip

    In a slide show, complete with 'Fit audio slideshow DURATION' checked (duration 00; 19; 32-24), I decided to replace the audio with a composition more short (00; 10; 00; 22). With the original audio clip erased and the new added audio clip and the 'slide show audio TIME Fit' checked, slide durations recalculated so that the last slide has a 00 exit point; 10; 00; 22 but the duration of the slide show is 'stuck' 00; 19; 32; 24. the end action takes place to return to the menu, but when the last slide goes black (at 00; 10; 00; 22) keeps him slide show running with a black screen, probably all the way to 00. 19; 32 24 before it hits the end action, even if I did not let it run again at this point. I shot 'Fit slideshow to audio duration' then turn it on again, in the hope that it will recalibrate at 00; 10; 00; 22, but the length does not change. Help, please!

    Try to play with these ideas:

    Uncheck "Fit to Audio duration slideshow."  (As you probably now it have anyway).

    On the slide show tab basic properties, set the duration of the slide to zero.  Now, what is the length of the slide show?  The length of the audio new or old?

    Or, something great (so I think that the total is more audio length) on the duration of the slide.  What is the length of the slide show?

    Search now "Fit slideshow / audio.  How long is it?

    I had the same symptom as you did (audio plays beyond the end of the blades) when the durations of slide added unless the audio length and 'Fit audio slideshow' was unchecked.

  • Stop the text of deletion at the end of the duration of the slide Captivate 5

    Hello

    Even if the slide is set to 3 seconds or 300 seconds, this is the same question.

    At the end of the duration of the slide and the blade is set to stay until a button is clicked, until the button is clicked, the text in the slide to 50% opacity fades.

    Options of alll that I could find in the properties of the slide etc are set to no transition but I want the text to stay 100% opacity all the time.

    Where can I change this?

    Hello

    There are 3 causes for discoloration (or rear):

    • slide transitions (you have discovered those)
    • transition of the object: check the properties panel when the object is selected, region ' Transition)
    • project: default settings project fade (on the first slide) and melted on the last slide. You can change this in the preferences (Edit menu, use a shortcut, but I don't know if you're on Mac or Win), the project, beginning and end

    Lilybiri

    PS you see partially melted because the moment of pause of your button is probably somewhere during the process of fading (object or project)

  • How to stop the slide for the duration of the legend? How make it slow down a notch?

    Hi, I am very new to Captivate, but I can only borrow for tonight so please help.

    I captured a video with Captivate and now I have to add a few legends. But the video is short, so I want to slow it down a bit in some areas (if possible) and I would also like to pause the video during the duration of the legend. So it would be similar to adding breaks for captions.

    Is this possible? How?

    I could be wrong, but you save Full Motion? When you add text captions, the duration of this legend is determined by CP took into account the amount of text to read. In the timeline panel, you will see the duration (time), captions, you can always adjust by changing the properties of this legend, in the sheet "Options". If you want the legend to stay until the user clicks, you will need to a button or a box click to trigger the slide to continue. In this case, you can also change the calendar of the legend of text 'for the rest of the slide.

    Moreover, you can always download a full version of Captivate work and use it free for a month.
