The slow program on computer HP w / WIN XP PRO w/SP3

My machine in question is a HP Compaq 8100 Elite; It has a Core I5 Vpro processor; and Windows XP Pro with SP3.

I have a program that I run from a command window, and it runs VERY SLOW on this machine.  The same program runs MUCH faster on the three other "less capable machines.   All have WIN XP with SP3 installed.  HP takes 20 minutes to do what three other maybe 3 to 5 minutes.

Something seems to be "keep the HP machine backward," as its CPU usage never exceeds 10%; other machines enter the area of 50% CPU usage when running this program.

It seems to me that the HP is not allowed to use its full capabilities for some reason any.

The entire program is, it is write data to files.

What settings I could check this slow Machine situation?

I ran a few HP diagnostics on the hard drive and memory; OK results.

I never get Windows error messages.

I tried to run the program from the Windows Explorer by 'double click' on the icon; But even slow execution speeds.

The program runs to completion on all machines; a few tracks VERY slowly on the HP computer.

Thanks in advance for the advice on the two parameters of the software (WIN XP) or (HP Elite 8100) setting to check the machine.

Research point Windows # KB940157 was installed in August 2010, when I ran MicroSoft Update first.

The computer usually works OK; However, it seems SLOW sometimes; I don't know if it's a computer problem or a problem of Internet connection.

This particular optional update has been known to slow down certain PCs. Since it is a useless update, I suggest that uninstall you it. After the back if you need advice because it can be difficult.

  • How to fix the duration of the slow program on Windows 7

I have Windows 7 Starter SP1 on my Netbook with Atom N2600 CPU. At the launch of the downloaded programs using Windows Explorer, it takes a long time (2 minutes) before it shows the security warning box. It is normal to run other programs that are installed on my computer. I disabled Windows Defender, and I haven't installed Antivirus software. I have Comodo Firewall installed and Windows Firewall disabled. If I unlock the executable file under properties, it works normally. This period of slow launch comes in standard users and administrators accounts. A smart display for Internet Explorer is disabled. Until July security updates and other important updates until April are installed. What is the problem?

    Hi Josh,.

It would be great if you could answer these questions to help you further.

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. you receive an error message or error code?

If you are facing the question recently, then I suggest you to perform system restore to a point when the computer was working fine.

    Hi lse.

If you purchased Windows 8.1 or Windows 8, you can download and install Windows from this page using only your product key. You will have the option to install Windows now, later, or using media with an ISO file.

Go to the Microsoft page for upgrading to Windows 8 with a product key, then click on the button 'install Windows 8' light blue.

Once ISO finished download, the installation program will take several minutes to check download and unzip the installation files. When you are prompted to choose an installation option, choose "install by creating media".

If you decide that the installer to create a support of USB flash drive, or save the ISO file.

If you choose the ISO, the ISO file (Windows.iso) will be saved on your PC and you will be able to burn to DVD. Once done, you can actually go back and create the media to a USB flash drive as well. Just click on the link "Windows Installer" on your Windows desktop. You will be prompted to choose your option to install again. Choose "Install by creating media" again, insert a 4 GB or more large USB flash drive, then select flash memory reader. If you have problems creating USB flash support.

    Hello

    Follow these steps.

Go to Start, run, copy and paste this command, then click OK: services.msc
(Press the Windows key + R if you do not "run" in the start menu)

In the list of Services, see Background Intelligent Transfer Service or BITS ?

If it is not listed, please follow these steps if you have a desktop computer. If you have a laptop, go to section 2

Open the Windows search tool, copy / paste the following text, and then click Search: qmgr.dll

Research should show this file in the following locations:

    C:\Windows\System32
    C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\bits

I hope they are all present, follow these steps to register the service.

Go to Start, run , and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK

Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll

Restart the PC and then copy / paste this command into the field run:
    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.inf

If you are prompted to insert the Windows installation CD, ignore this and in the dialog below, replace the path C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

The reason to change the path to the i386 folder is that the files that are there are newer than those on the Windows installation CD.

Restart the PC and then go to the Services and you should be able to see BITS in the list.

Double click on it and then on the general tab, click the Start button to start the service manually. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.

If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
    Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll

Reboot again and try once more to start the PIECES. It should work fine now, but in the unlikely case where it fails again, run the following command, and then press ENTER:
    Reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup

Reboot once more and then do the following.

If qmgr.dll is only present in C:\WINDOWS\system32, follow these steps.

Open the system32 folder, locate qmgr.dll, then right-click and choose copy.

Stay in the system32 folder and right-click anywhere and click on New, then folder. Rename the new folder into pieces (in lowercase).

Open the folder of bits that you just created, right-click in the right pane and choose Paste. You should see the qmgr.dll file in there.

Close Windows Explorer and then go to Start, run , and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK

If you are prompted to insert the Windows installation CD, ignore this and in the lower dialog box, change the path to C:\WINDOWS\system32

Restart the PC and then go to the Services and you should be able to see BITS in the list.

Double click on it and then on the general tab, click the Start button to start the service manually. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.

  • I deleted the partition system, pure can not install Win 7 Pro because of the error message

So, I tried to install Windows 10 on a friends old PC (acer aspire 5920g). I bought a new SSD and traded with the HARD disk, performed a clean install of win 10 and realized that I should return to Win 7 after that too many things were not working well. So, I formatted the disk (230 GB) and system reserved partition. (I took the SSD and put it in an external enclosure that I have connected to my PC to 10 Win.)
I didn't know much about this system reserved partition but read that it didn't really need when you want to perform a clean installation of another OS. After the partition reserved for formatting system, he said 500 GB of unallocated space. I didn't quite understand that the reader is a 240 GB Sandisk SSD. I put the other (230GB) partition to active and primary with the management tool disc to win 10.
I put in the Win 7 DVD and change the setting of this kind it would be DVD first the bios startup. However, the Win 7 installation dialog does not appear at all. Instead BACK gives me this message: 'an operating system not found. Try disconnecting all drives that do not contain an operating system. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart. »

I tried different startup commands but did not get any result. What should I do next? How can I make a simple clean install of Windows 7 Pro (on the new SSD)?

There are no problems reported by those who follow these steps for a Clean install Windows 10 Upgrade

then you might want to try again and this time stick to these steps.

Otherwise clean reinstall Windows 7 you can turn on with the installation media checked in the player by pressing F12 to Acer to get a Boot Menu, choose the bootable media, custom Setup, to the selection screen of disc to remove all partitions until the unallocated space, and then click next to leave automatic formatting and start the installation.  With the Installer do the partition creation and formatting avoid you unnecessary problems second guess the necessary system partitions and you can ignore all this.

All the other things you did remove the HDD to format in another PC were unnecessary because that's all that is needed.  If other installation problems arise when it's properly you must follow these additional steps to fix failed Installation Windows 7 , that cover all possible problems.
