The sports channel of Media Center would become obsolete?

All I get is a bouncing yellow ball. Queensbury Fight Network and FOX Sports come individually fine in the software library. Never underestimate your own stupidity.

Found the problem. Sports channel is registered to the

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Extensibility\Entry Points\ {{de027c68-eefa-4ecb-abca-2bd20ee899f0}]
"URL"="http://sp.miomni.com/MCE_SP_FlashUI.html."

This loading in IE just brings up the bouncing yellow ball. This is supposed to launch the MCML-BASED code for the http://sp.miomni.com/page, which has a URI of http://sp.miomni.com/HomePageLoader.aspx?Action=HomePagelaunch. Unfortunately, HomePageLoader.aspx shows HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Check the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Other parts of the sp.miomni.com appear as http://sp.miomni.com/MCE_SP_StartPage.html.

It seems that I am the victim of a site redesign, and Media Center did not go to the new URL.

Never underestimate your own stupidity.

  • Microsoft is aware that the guide in Windows Media Center programs is no longer up-to-date?

original title: MICROSOFT to KNOW THAT THE PROGRAM GUIDE IN WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER IS 'n' IS MOST UPDATE (LOTS of MESSAGES ABOUT it online)

Microsoft is aware of the fact that the guide in Windows Media Center programs is no longer up-to-date? There are a lot of posts about it on this problem in the section "The Green Button" of your web site and seems to be a problem that happened recently in all areas with all Media Center users. Data Guide for everyone runs 18:00 December 26.

There has been many threads open in Microsoft Connect with no response from Microsoft to one of them.

  • Television channels in Media Center double in the guide

This seems to be a common problem but I and many others don't seem to have a solution.

I disable duplicate them the layers that do not work but a day or two later, they come back.

I am in England and I put the post code of the transmitter that I am supposed to receive my tv. I have erased the Max and reread my tuner. Which none cure the problem.

There should be a code added to the media center, which will focus on the channel list and remove those who do not have any signal. This isn't a real solution as some duplicate channels do not work. So what code that remembers what channels you have disabled?

What else can I do to fix this? I'm getting really cheesed to disable 50 channels every day.

Sorry if I have posted in the wrong place, it can't see a Media Center option to publish under.

    Cheers for any help guys

Edit: My tuner is a nanoStickT2 of pctv. 290th PCTV model

just saw this and this solution works rather than download a file:

Duplicate with no signal channels come from adjacent areas. In the guide, do a right-click and disable unwanted channels. Once you have put WMC in place as you like it, you can stop retunes go in the (type regedit in the search box) registry editor and find the entry

    hkey_local_machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\BackgroundScanner

    and setting

    Dword PeriodicScanIntervalSeconds = 7FFFFFFF
    Dword PeriodicScanEnabled = 0

you will need to add a new DWord for the Periodicscanenabled DWord value

I use a USB tuner and an ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe Motherboard which worked 100% in Windows 7?

I found the solution by translating the Italian Forum on the same issue a post ;)

Check if your usb tuner is connected to a 3 USB and if so, put it on a usb port 2.
then go to control panel - devices and printers - right click of the tuner and select troubleshooting. hope this helps, it worked for me!

  • Current do not install the update to Vista Media Center (KB960544)

I would appreciate much information on how to deal with a recurring problem of the automatic Windows Update: "Cumulative Update for Media Center for Windows Vista (KB960544)."

Since the beginning of February 2009, whenever I start my computer, I get a notice that the update above tried and impossible to install.  The notice made reference to "Error Code 80073701"

My operating system is Vista Home Premium (OEM), and whenever I turned off the computer, an application of the computer power off not because an update is the installation appears on the screen of the monitor.  However, when the computer is started, this update was not installed.  Until this problem appeared, I had no problem with the other, automatic updates, and even now, other updates have been installed, without difficulty.

I crossed the procedures recommended for troubleshooting and the Knowledge Base of Vista and tried to install the update file that is available online.  But no luck.

Someone else has experience this problem?  If so, and you have any suggestions, thank you very much for your kind cooperation.

  • Error "Invalid Application" - failed to launch at the launch of Windows Media Center.

Original title: Windows Media Center Edition:

Current operating system: Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP2, latest MS Silverlight installed

Freshly installed, all updates up to SP2, whenever I have open Windows Media Center, and then select Internet TV (TV + movies) I get an error stating:

    «INVALID APPLICATION - unable to launch «»

Nothing opens and I see all the icons TV.  I then click on the OK button and the app closes back to TV + movies (TV recorded - by default).  I can click on Play DVD, no problem.  I can click on the Netflix plugin (once again no problem).  The question seems to exist ONLY when I select 'Internet TV'.  I don't have a TV Tuner card in the machine, as well as setting up is not an option.

Note: I am a COMPUTER technician for over 20 years and have researched the matter only of trying many fixes that don't work not including:

    • sfc/scannow (does report no error)
    • CHKDSK (no corruption of reports)
    • reinstalled MS silverlight
    • Installed the Netflix option
    • Parameters, make sure all the General internet settings are selected correctly
    • Disabling the firewall/AV
    • Change Windows MCE receiver opening Service of the Local Service Network Service logon

Except to call Microsoft and forking over $99 - nobody knows what is the cause?

    Additional information:

After starting Windows Media Center, and then selecting TV + movies, under the heading Internet TV a bit dimmed it says "BETA".  Not sure if this has something to do with it.  Also on my laptop which has Windows 7, the Windows Media Center interface is different and seems to work without problems.  What gives?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!
