THE TIME CODE BASICS

I am a newbie of timecode. We have a 2 photo with audio multitrack shoot all synchronized on timecode (no doubt!).

What is the best why to start and compile a session?

I have attached a screenshot in the clips of fusion menu, but it is all grayed out. Attempted only two merging separate audio and video, more sync the audio and the guide.

  • Duplicate the time codes of the sequence on new video

I have the same images of long interview in HDV and Cineform (initially I tried to edit the Cineform in CS3, now using CS5.5)

I did a lot of changes, transitions, etc. with the sequences to Cineform I'm satisfied, but I realized that my sequence settings are not correct and the images seem to look better when directly encoded from the original HDV

Is it possible that I can keep the current changes, but apply them to the clip HDV instead of the Cineform one in a new sequence: use the time codes of the cineform sequence to automatically change the HDV footage (clearly the time codes for both versions are identical)

    Thanks for the help

    Nick

There is no simple way and automated for this - basically, you talk about a workflow proxy roundabout. PR is not the best when it comes to these workflows, unfortunately.

The simple but tedious is to drag a master HDV clips to the corresponding element of Cineform in a sequence, hold down the Alt + Shift and drop it on the original clip from Cineform. This will make a game framework (using timecode) replace edit.

You can also replace each main element Cineform in the tray (a,); just right click on a Cineform clip in the tray, select replace sequences and navigate to the corresponding HDV clip. This shouldn't be too bad if your Cineform clips all use filenames HDV original; extensions, of course, be different.

You can also hack the project file XML to replace all instances of-Cineform, but that can be a little hairy (although much faster). This means your HDV and files Cineform with same file names, however. If they are not, no more than the foregoing are your best course of action.

  • How to export a .mov with timecode file corresponding the time code on the timeline of my project?

    Hello:

It seems it would be an easy thing to understand, but I'm deleting so far:

I have a video of the source of long, 10 minutes (actually a series of film clips 16mm which were telecined to a single uncompressed .mov 10-bit with continuous timecode by a film laboratory) on my project timeline.  I need to be able to export a small section of the timeline for individual .mov files - and I need to be able to open the short .mov files in a logging of film application called F5.  Currently, I'm making these videos in H.264 .mov files, since it is a format that F5 can read.  Rendering/export selection "work area" of my project works very well, so it's no problem.

The problem I have is that timecode of the resultant .mov H.264 files do not match the time code on the timeline of the project of my first - they always start at 00:00:00:00.  I don't want that.  If I made (for example) a section of 00:05:10:00 to 00:07:00:00 on my project timeline, I need time to start exported .mov file code 00:05:10:00 and the 00:07:00:00, does not restart at 00:00:00:00.  Is this possible?

I'm in first Pro CS6.0.2 on a Mac OSX 10.8.2, all installed updates.

    Thank you very much.

works by using "title" (cause its alpha) but does not work using the video black... I have to jump through hoops to do it this way... is nuts... so title works fast

so you put cti where you want to start, updated title to the top he put above your video, timecode in, "generate", set the start time to slide the title at the end of your work for the export bar... and it should be good...

  • How to see the time code of the item imported?

I'm working on a music video, but I need to see its timecode, how to do?

    Thank you

It depends on the version of the AE and images. Can you give more details? If your film is in the right format in CS5.5 you must ensure that the right boxes are checked in dialogue interpreting the film. Make sure the use of timecode source of the file is checked.

Then, in order to display timecode in the footage Panel, you must go to the project settings and select use Media Source from the menu drop down.

Your publication can be set at any timecode start and the default value is 0, but film window displays the timecode of the video.

    I hope this helps.

  • Just bought a g30 and want to turn off the time.

I can't find how to turn off the date and time, so it does not appear in my films. A lot of things to learn, too.

This seems to be for the time Code.  Whatì don't ' want on my movies, it is the date and time, the video was recorded.

  • How to retrieve the time UTC

I am trying to retrieve time UTC how to get UTC time?

or how to convert the current time in UTC?

in java, I can use the time code below to retrieve UTC.

    Calendar cal = Calendar.GetInstance ();

    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat ("yyyy-MM-dd hh: mm s");

    sdf.setTimeZone ((TimeZone.getTimeZone ("UTC")));

    Return sdf.format (cal.getTime ());

But in the time zone BlackBerry only supports "GMT" as an argument...

So, how to convert hour UTC for the hour UTC or how?

In my view, there is only a non-significant difference between time UTC and time GMT you will get from BlackBerry.  The time GMT is NOT performed by DaylightSaving.

So I think you can use both you get System.currentTimeMillis () as the hour UTC, expressed as a value of type long representative milliseconds since 01/01/1970.

If you wish to format it, then things start to become a little more complicated.  But you can create a DateTimeField and set its time zone GMT, and it will appear correctly.

  • Time code speed

Hey, I'm putting in place a timer on a youtube video. The original video was recorded with fraps, I don't know if this will change anything unless it displays the video on a higher FPS.

The format for the time code is btype:

    TimeCode.PNG

The time code itself runs FASTER the real time video, race allocate more quickly as shown in the following image:

    TimeOff.PNG

I would like to know how do the timer matches the speed of the video.

Any help would be very welcome!

Try your clip in a sequence of 30 frames per second.

    Interpret images if necessary.

Then try the effect of TC (30)

  • Manual setting of time code does not save in first Pro CC

Hi, when I put the time code of an item manually (by clicking on the clip, change, time code) in first Pro CC, everything works fine until I quit Premiere Pro. You need to update to the newest 7.2.2.

  • First sends EDL with 'invalid time code format string.

Follow the suggestions in this thread, I try to send a PCA of a first sequence to Speedgrade.

When I try to import the Speedgrade JEL, I get this error message:

    Screen Shot 2012-10-18 at 2.38.06 PM.png

    ERROR

At the time point is not valid. String (hours) invalid timecode format: '23813 + 20'

    in edition 1

    File: LR001 V 001C 2813 + 20 17 23815 + 0:00 1 + 37

    Line: 2

I have rarely worked with EDL, but have read the guides Speedgrade and first. I must be missing something but can't tell what.  Here are the details of my project:

I'm editing in 24 fps. Video files are generated in After Effects of DPX files. The time code is based on the DPX filenames, with the time corresponding to the number of laboratory Roll (so 11:00 11 Roll)

I export an EDL in the CMX3600 format. I tried two settings by default and without audio. Same results. I even get the same result if I do a sequence of a single clip and try to export this EDL.

I don't think it's a matter of Speedgrade, because that if I try to re - import EDL in first, it seems that all clips are a single long chassis.

Any suggestions on what I might hurt would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Burn-in time code does not not CS5.5

    Hello!

    I'm in first Pro CS5.5 on a Mac with os x 10.7.1.

Trying to overlay the time code on a video, nothing appears in the viewer program after applying the timecode effect. The effect appears on the tab controls effects and will allow me to make adjustments, but the time code is not visible on the video. It's as if the program knows what I want to do, but just will not do the visible effect.

I reinstalled the program and checked that Helvetica is installed.

    Any thoughts?

  • need help to modify the code for the timer

    Hello

I hope that it's fairly easy. I have a code for a timer that counts down 60 seconds. So to start the countdown, a start button is pressed and once the countdown starts, there is a stop button. I want to change the code so that the timer starts automatically (I will be embedding in a web page). I know that to hide a button, I just need changevisible = true, visible = false.
