the uefi BIOS update

I want somebody to explain me how do. Because I did it P11B4 to P11C1 and I heard a beep for 2 seconds and then black screen. I did the update with afuwin office, the message was: done, so I went into the bios to the aknowledge the update which was ok, and when I reboot with F10 BIOS: beeeeeeeeeeeeeep and black screen - Pls don't tell me it's the mobo but finally how to fix the black screen.

I can't help you on these issues, I can only suggest:

1) go into a store of the local computer (as appropriate) and ask if they can recover the BIOS (I doubt)

(2) give a call to Acer (paid service) support service and ask for a quote for repair

(3) look around for a new motherboard

    Hello everyone

Since my upgrade to Windows 10 32 bit Windows 7 32 bit, I am unable to access the BIOS (UEFI).

I try to access BIOS because I want to do a clean install of Windows 10 64-bit, DVD, or USB key.

I did the setting-> security update & -> Recovery-> Advanced Startup restart now-> then I clicked on troubleshooting-> Advanced Options-> and I can not find the UEFI (BIOS) settings.

OK if you are interested in the topic you can try with a facility for testing purposes, but if there are many different issues and problems, I think that you should install the recovery original image again and use your laptop with 'presets' again.

You can enter the BIOS settings?

In General, you can try to start the installation of USB if you press F12 on startup and choose USB as a boot device. It works for you?

I have a brand new 13 Thinkpad which I'm really pleased.  However, the user manual seems to be wrong.  I can't enter the UEFI BIOS in F1.

It seems that the only way to get into the BIOS is first go to W10 and make a shift/reboot or a restart/F1.

OK, suppose that at some point in the future I need to access the BIOS (ex: changing boot options) and is not a job W10 or perhaps corruption W10.)

How to enter BIOS without first W10? BIOS maybe consulted independent of the operating system?

    Hello and welcome,

It is by design.  "Shutdown" in Win 10 more resembles the hibernation and it is not safe change hardware/BIOS setup in this State.

F1/F12/ENTER should be available after a boot failure or a forced shutdown via a long press on the power button.

BTW, UPDATE/restart and restart should just do the same thing. SHIFT button should cause a real stop after a followed Fx market should work.

I understand that you believe that you have installed an incorrect BIOS update on HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510y desktop PC. I checked and the two BIOS updates you link to are for your computer, the only difference is the version the update of the BIOS of motherboard ΜATX-RS880-H is Version 6.11 Rev has what is more recent, then the N-Alvorix-RS880 card motherboard BIOS update which is Version 6.07 Rev A. You cannot install the second update is because the you have a more recent version.

I wouldn't worry have the incorrect BIOS up-to-date is one you have for the computer. As you can see on the page the two updates BIOS Drivers of HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510y desktop PC are listed for your computer.

    ========

Some notes - as mentioned in the article itself - updated only if you really must. Personally, I don't recommend do you it unless you're having problems with your existing BIOS and you are sure that the new BIOS will fix it.

General recommendation I provided to users/customers is NOT to upgrade the BIOS/UEFI, unless they live any sort of BIOS/UEFI problem specific. Just for updaing and update just for the use of the latest verson is not the solution. Any type of update (no matter what and that relesed it) can solve 2 problems but could introduce more than 10 questions. In addition, upgrading the BIOS (for any provider) are risky more because the BIOS recovery is not that easy compared to updates of typical software IF something goes wrong.

It goes the same for Windows updates, OS update, drivers, etc - update/update updates IF you have any questions, you know are fixed in the new version or for some serious security problems. Otherwise, keep the existing version as long as possible.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions or if you have difficulties

  • Re: Satellite Pro L40 - killed the laptop BIOS update

Recently I thought it would be better to download the latest drivers and upgrades for my Satellite pro L40 to keep up-to-date and partners the laptop that works smoothly. I couldn't have worse summer. Before I updated the new driver updates I thought it would be a good idea first update the Bios. So I downloaded the update of the Bios on the Toshiba site, unzipped the files and followed the online instructions for updating the BIOS. I double clicked on the BIOS file to run the update, the laptop says it was end the session, I waited and the Toshiba logo screen came. In the instructions, it says that I have to press F2 now and confirm that the date and time are correct. I should then press F9 to load all the default values and then press F10 to save and exit. At this point, the laptop must away to the loading screen, but... I got a black screen. IV turned off the computer and turn it back on, but still, I get a blank screen. The lights are on but know one's home.

Could a mod/staff/Board Toshiba administrator please explain to me why I'm going to draw the consequences of my lack full on my face because I followed a form of direct teaching of personnel of Toshiba or... Please run me through the process of bring back my cell partners in life, before that I get my Crown snatched jewels. This isn't a laugh. An upgrade directly from the manufacturer is not intended to cause you problems!

Please get back to me as soon as POSSIBLE. My first son moments of life (videos, photos) are on this laptop. That cannot be replaced. Please tell me that the laptop can be fixed...

    Hello Durks

I'm really sorry to hear you I have this problem.
To be honest, it is not easy to discuss about this because a lot of people on this forum with a similar or same problem reacts quite aggressive if they don t hear exactly the thing they want to hear.

In any case, I just want to write my comment. Don t be worried about photos and other important data. You can remove the laptop HARD drive, put it in a small box of HDD SATA 2.5 and connect the HARD drive to the other PC / laptop as external device. You will have full access to all stored data. So you can do the backup.

    Update the BIOS.
What to say at this point?
I have checked the Toshiba download page and saw that the BIOS update is available for Windows XP Home edition and Vista pre-installed notebooks so I hope you ve chosen the right one. Anyway, it is not easy to fix screwed up in the BIOS. You hate me now, but I think you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Call them, explain the situation and ask what you can do about it.

I hope you will fix this laptop soon.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite L40 - 14 H - do not start after the successful BIOS update

    Hello

I have Satellite L40 - 14 H which was working fine until I thought to an update of the BIOS will not hurt. Seems I was wrong.

I downloaded the update to the BIOS, it unzipped in a folder and started the action.

After a few seconds was asked to wait, and then after few more firm.

After the reboot, I pressed F2 to enter the BIOS and check that it is version everything was fine, version 2.0 so was I left once the parameters.

    After that, nothing happened.

I almost tried everything without success. Removed the power and battery power, put their back, but still no start. Just the light of the HARD drive lights up for a few seconds and the cd turns a bit, but after that nothing happens at all and completely the screen is black.

I don't know anything else to try.

Please let me know what that can do to restore its functionality without taking it to the service, I can't do it.
I think that may not be cause of failure of the BIOS update I have seen it is the version and was right.
Is it possible to reset the BIOS? I need to disassemble the laptop to do this?
Let me know what to do, I have good experience in such things, but I can't understand this.

Thanks in advance for any response.

    Kind regards

    Hello

I agree with Akuma. It really isn't that you can do about it. BIOS problems are complex and cannot be set by the owner of the laptop. Believe me you need professional help with this.
Contact the closest Toshiba ASP and explain the situation.

  • The downloaded BIOS update, do not know if it has been installed, update view has not changed.

HP Support Assistant informed me that I have to download an update of the BIOS. After downloading and restarting the laptop, notification to download the update of the BIOS is still there. Tried redownloading but this time to stop the power of 10secs then turned on, but the BIOS update notice always there. After research on the HP site, found a note saying that I shouldn't update my BIOS unless there is a problem.

The update is? Should I just ignore the update?

    Thank you!

    Hi @RobMan

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have found a message asking to update your BIOS to the support assistant and that you downloaded it, but the message remains. I'm happy to help you with this.

First of all, please send the complete product number and check the operating system on your laptop. See the following if you need help to find those.
How can I find my model number or product number?
Is the Version of Windows on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

It is not absolutely necessary to update the BIOS if you encounter any problems with something on your system. Once I have your product information, I can find the right drivers page, and from there we can find out which BIOS versions are available and notes see what corrections or changes are a part of it.

I have this also, include indicative.

Go to the Start Menu -> click on all programs ->, click on manage recoveryr (open Recovery Manager).

From there, under "I need help immediately" you can select "Hardware Driver réinstallation"-> click Next.  When you see the list of available selection drivers "ATi (or AMD) Driver VGA" and click Next.  Once it's done, click on finish, then will restart your computer and you can test your system/USB devices to verify that it is fixed.
