The Win Explorer crashes/Context Menu Popups

About 4-5 weeks, I started to have Windows Explorer freezes once or twice a day, especially when I start programs from the Start Menu. (I also use RocketDock and explore window will never block when programs start with her). I get a dialog box indicating that I have Windows restart Windows Explorer and the problem goes away. I've been tolerating this inconvenience.

About 2 weeks, popups started appearing randomly in any program was in the active window (for example, Firefox, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) without me touching my mouse. I tried to solve this problem, because it steals the focus while I type and is the most troublesome of the two. To this day, I tried withoutsuccess the following:

-changed my mouse
-used the system restore as soon as he'd go (about 15 days)
- virus scan with SpyBot, Adaware, Malwarebytes (all clean, with the exception of a few cookies part 3)
-Chkdsk scan
-Disabled all non-Microsoft context menu using NirSoft ShellExView shell extensions
-One at a time, disabled Microsoft context menu shell individual extensions with ShellExView

The problem of popup context menu persisted all troubleshooting.

Apart from these two issues, which may or may not be related, my computer (a HP Pavillion) short great. All additional troubleshooting suggestions?

Thank you very much for your time and sharing your expertise.

If you want the whole Gore story?  Although it seems that the problem of context menu is not related to Windows Explorer crashes, the tests I did apparently cleared up that, too.  He has not re-emerged in about 5 days.

While disabling the services (Microsoft and others), I came across many problems of implementation of some programmes and operation did not work properly, as one would expect.  When I excluded services as a cause and reactivate all, I started having problems with the Windows installation files.  First of all, WordPerfect would not go and had to be reinstalled, but only after using the Windows Install Clean Up Utility (WICUU) to clear the Setup done reference file.  Then, I had a Windows Update failed (for the first time) and could not install an update of Silverlight.  This problem leads to WICUU as reference to installation of Silverlight was also damaged.  (I'm sure that other installation problems will arise, but I'll take those as they come).

I don't know if, during my diagnosis, I somehow damage the installation files (do not see how that could happen) or if there is an independent issue which will be me still beset.  HOWEVER, for the moment, all is well... no crashes, no popups.

I have no idea why the Win Explorer crashes stopped.  But when it comes to Windows, I never look a gift horse in the eye.  If it is not broke, I ain't trying to fix.  For the time being.

Thanks again for your help.

    You can, to a limited extent.  And it's the registry changes, so I would recommend caution.  There are also a few small programs that change the menu.

    A simple way, I used is to create shortcuts custom in the SendTo context menu folder.  With which you can perform most any function, such as send a text file to open with MS Word or send any type of image to open it with any number of image viewers.

    You can access the SendTo file by entering shell: sendto in the navigation bar of the Explorer, or simply run and the shell: sendto

  • Creation of Popup context Menu

    I'm doing a menu pop ("menu conext"?) when the user right click on an object to track selected. I looked through the docs and found the rest of basic claims to be able to do. Using the create feature, I see that he does anything notable. I tried passing the ADMListRef object that implements buffer reference in the menu as a result of the list, but I can't seem to do anything.

    How can I do you do/add to the menu that the user gets when they right click?

    I'm on the right track?

    Is there a better documentation on these suites that I can search for answers?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeremy

    Well, I do not use the same method for the creation of my context menu. I'm doing something slightly different, and maybe that makes a difference. I should point out that I use the MDRI objects * also, so there may be subtle differences - they usually wrap the call of more obvious however. Note also that I update a list based on other events, so you can ignore it no doubt part of the compensation

    --------- snip ---------

    IADMItem button (GetItem (kChangeMapViewButton));

    List IADMList (button. GetList());

    const int count = list. NumberOfEntries();

    Clear list
    for (int i = 0; i)< count;="" i++)="">
    list. RemoveEntry (0);
    }

    get the display list of my (what are points of view is unimportant to you!)

    const CString kSentToTemplate = QObject::tr ("Switch to the \"%1\"" ");
    Index of MapViewList::iterator;

    for (index = viewList.begin (); index! = viewList.end (); ++ index) {}
    int position = list. NumberOfEntries();
    IADMEntry entry (list. InsertEntry (position));
    View CMapView * = * index;

    CPlatformString is my own made class House for conversion between our

    internal string object & ASUnicode from Adobe (returned via au_atr())
    Text CPlatformString = kSentToTemplate.arg (view-> GetName());
    entry. SetText (text.au_str ());
    entry. SetUserData ((void*) view);
    entry. SetID (position);
    }

    --------- snip ---------

    I think that defining the ID is critical to know actually what menuitem has been affected - I think they are all of zero by default, which is part of the problem. I could be wrong however. I remember that I have struggled with this a fair bit before I understood. It may be asking for the ActiveEntry() enough (as you'll see below). Still, defining an ID which means something can be useful if you do not Get calls / SetUserData ().

    To determine what user input has clicked, I respond to the notifier changed element (which said you you get). It looks a bit like this:

    --------- snip ---------

    IADMItem button (GetItem (kChangeMapViewButton));
    List IADMList (button. GetList());

    ADMEntryRef entryRef = list. GetActiveEntry();

    If {(entryRef)
    IADMEntry entry (entryRef);

    I use user data so I don't care actually whose entry was clicked
    void * data = input. GetUserData();

    you might ask at this point ID and who will tell you the index in the list;

    nothing prevents you to make the ID you want, if they are

    hard-coded

    const int id = entry. GetID();

    answer

    }

    --------- snip ---------

    FYI, the button in question is of type "SMA Popup Menu Type", at least in my resource file. I'm sure that this corresponds to a type in the header of ADMItem.h if you are looking for good. I don't know if you use the same type of button or not. Yet, it's probably very similar.

  • Option ' send to ' missing from the context menu

    guys,
    I use windows vista and have recently lost the option ' send to ' context menu. Help, please. Thank you.

    Mukul Modani,
    Looks like there is a problem with the registry entry for the menu "send to".

    Important: This document is to modify the Windows registry. Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about the back upward, and restore the registry, review of the Microsoft article 332756 Knowledge Base (how to back up and restore the registry in Windows).

    Try these steps and see if it solves your problem:

    1. Click Start, and then type regedit.exe in the search field. When appears in regedit.exe, press enter or click on its icon.
    2. Provide consent or credentials appropriate to user account control if prompted.
    3. In the tree pane, navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
    4. Open the subkey send to. If it does not exist, create it.
    5. In the subkey send worms, you will see a (default) string value. Ensure that it is set to {7BA4C740-9E81-11CF-99D3-00AA004AE837}.
    6. Log in and turn it on.

    If you are able to change the registry, I exported the correct values from the registry a new installation of Windows Vista that you can import. Simply download the following ZIP file, extract the content inside the file, double-click it and click 'Yes' to the guests.

  • How can I catch the focus event context menu?

    I would like to indicate when the development of a context menu is placed in the order of the day, to make the feature: from the first to the last menu item when the focus moves in the direction upwards and from the last to the first element in the direction down. Is this possible? I can't extend to the ContextMenu class cause that's final. Is there another solution? Thank you!

    The only solution is to implement your own mechanism of menu from scratch. And declare your own interface, say MenuItemSelectionChangedListener.

    Listeners will record on your menu and receive notifications when the focus of the menu has been changed.

    Unfortunately, there is no standard functionality in the RIM API that does this.

  • Windows Explorer crashes failed msvcr90.dll

    Friends

    I have this most annoying problem. It happens on my computer and the computer of a friend. I have Vista Pro 64 bit and my friend a Windows 7 Home Premium, also 64-bit.

    We both use the same two programs for a specific project, we want to do. A program is a data management program called FieldWorks, where export us the data in the format of LibreOffice. I think that this problem started during the installation of LibreOffice and then begins to export stuff in the program of FieldWorks.

    Very often, when we click on an exported file in .odt (LibreOffice) on the desktop, or simply click anywhere in a folder on the desktop, where we store .odt files, then immediately the Windows Explorer crashes with the following error message:

    Explorer Windows has stopped working. Windows can check online... Check online... The details of the problem are:

    Problem signature: problem event name: BEX64 Application name: the Explorer.EXE Application Version: 6.0.6002.18005 timestamp of the Application: 49e02a1e fault Module name: MSVCR90.dll fault Module Version: 9.0.30729.6161 fault Module Timestamp: 4dace4e7 Exception offset: Code of Exception 00000000000552d 4: c0000417 data exception: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.6 locale ID: 1033 additional information 1: complementary 46e0 2 information: information additional 4ce498f1e2ebb3719af008d4ef97bedc 3 : 7 d 05 additional information 4: 729ac305dabb24e28fbe99019ecbbab7
    Also my friend and I get the exact same message and the same fault Module name and version. It can happen several times in a row, insofar as we cannot get to any of the .odt files in the folder via the Windows Eplorer window or desktop, but I got a remove the .odt file in a command window.  Otherwise just Explorer to crash. :-(

    I tried many things to fix this, among them:
    1. I re-entered the msvcr90.dll
    2. I learned that it is the program of MS Visual C++ 2008 that installs this msvcr90.dll and use it
    3. I removed all instances of MS Visual CC ++ Vista computer
    4. I removed all instances of the msvcr90.dll and restarted. Then I made sure that no file with this name has appeared again.
    5. even after that I still get this crash explore with this error message about this being the fault module msvcr90.dll!
    6. I used Windows find defective or missing files, sfc scannow. No gain.

    How this possible error, if there is no msvcr90.dll is left on the system? And no Visual C++ 2008?

    I then tried to reinstall MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable to see if that helped, but once again no change. :-( The same error came once again. This version of Visual C++ have not yet installed a version of msvcr90.dll but a msvrc100_XXX.dll

    Until I deleted the MS Visual C++ 2008 (and 2005 and 2010) of my system, I noticed that the existing msvcr90.dll was not even the same version that says that this error report is the version of the Module of fault!

    I am quite at a loss here. What can I do to solve this problem, which is annoying and time consuming? I could send one .odt files, someone at Microsoft to look at, or what?

    Thank you
